An exciting final round in gorgeous conditions at the PIF London Championship coming from the Centurion Club for the fifth year in a row. So many players led at one stage or another. Mann and Doy led going into the back nine thanks to brilliant shots like this at her opening hole, the par five first that led to an eagle, but she finished tied fourth in the end with the last 72. Kim Metro birded four of her first six holes to move to the top, but the Swiss lefty in the end shot a round of 70 and she was in the group that finished seven underpar. Alongside her is the current number one on the ladies European tour order of merit. For a while it looked like Mimi Rhodess might add to her three wins this year. In the end she had to finish at seven under alongside the likes of Lean Pace at the letter Susk and Alice Houston. Husoon grew up down the road from this week’s venue and this was a wonderful eagle attempt at the last. She had to settle for a birdie and a bogey free 68 on this pass. 73. What a finish though from Anne Vanam. She knew she had to hold this for an eagle to keep her hopes alive and the Dutch woman hold it for a closing 69. In the end though, she had to settle for third place at eight under par. Didn’t stop the celebrations though. She played alongside Dianiela Darka who was aiming to become the first Ladies European Tour winner from Ecuador. Darka with seven birdies in a round of 68 that saw her set the clubhouse target at nine under par. Laura Fumstuk started the day with a threeshot lead. The Germans advantage though had disappeared after only four holes but a brilliant fight back on the back nine. It started with a birdie there at 12. She added another birdie at the par 31 14th onto the next par three and a wonderful T-shot at this short hole from the German who’s based in London. It set her up for a birdie two that took her into a share of the lead with one hole to play. A birdie needed to take the title and a birdie for is what she got. A final round 72 for a 10 underpar winning score in her 115th Ladies European tour start. A breakthrough win for Laura Funuk. Big hug from her wife and le player Rosie Davis. They only got married a matter of months ago and the champagne was flowing. Fumstuk then with that one shot victory. So many players though had a chance but in the end it’s Laura Fuk who emerged the PIF London Championship winner.
