Been working on my swing, seen coaches etc, biggest thing I’ve been advised to try and correct is the club release (that causes that chicken wing.) I cant seem to figure it out.

I’ve gotten various things to try and feel / do but still struggle with it a lot. Ive been told that my downswing and rotation are contributing.

Would appreciate any advice specially on this if you have it. Particularly if you’ve also had this issue before but have been able to correct it. Looking for more “feel like X” type of advice.

Here’s a 9 iron swing.

Thanks in advanced.

You have been told the problem and seem to understand what you have been told. I don’t understand why you can’t correct it. Maybe it’s a question of motivation or a neurological problem.

Can’t see the follow through but yes looks like you aren’t releasing the wrists. Maybe try this drill – short swings focus on release just after impact so at the end L elbow points to ground, L wrist cupped w palm facing up, R wrist flexed w palm facing down. Exit more left not up. Keep elbows close together during the whole thing.

This guy James is my favorite YT instructor here’s a video might help.

while I’ve never had this problem, I’ve seen people with it. try working on whipping the club by holding it near the head and swinging it thru with your left hand only to feel what a proper release feels like. if that doesn’t help, then you may have to get extreme. I’ve seen people build a sleeve out of cardboard and packing tape so it holds up. slide it over your left arm so that it’s on your elbow and is long enough to prevent you from bending it
