Mike Deo, you know this man, DVO, how are you, man? Good. How you doing? Doing well. Doing well. We had Orioles Hall of Fame induction going on this weekend at the yard and we had a chance to uh had a lunch in with with Joe or Slack. What do you remember about uh him as a teammate? Oh, Slack, man. I mean, he’s a great teammate. You know, one thing we always said in the outfield, him, Brady, and I, is that we’d never let the ball hit the grass. And, you know, Slack, he’s one of the best at uh catching the ball down the line against foul territory up against the walls. And it was just uh it was just fun, you know. It was it was a fun time, especially that 89 season. Just fun time playing. It’s funny you say that because he told a story. He said you all said no drops and it wasn’t that you weren’t going to drop the ball. The ball wasn’t going to drop and hit the ground. Exactly. Exactly. The pitchers love that, too. I mean, you know, we we it it’s a thrill to take hits away, and that’s the way we looked at as as playing in the outfield. And uh Slack and and Brady and I, you know, we we made it uh you know, that that that was our motto out there. Don’t let the ball hit the grass. you know, don’t nothing drops and and we went hard at it and uh it was fun. He had a season with 22 outfield assists, but I feel like he’s an underrated hitter when you talk about his history with the Baltimore Orioles. Oh, no doubt. He was one of the best hitters on the team. I mean, he always hit, you know, close to 300, if not above. And and uh his assists, I think he has a record or 22. Yeah, the 22 is a record. I mean, I I love outfield assists and as outfitters, you got to love that. And uh you know, Slack was one of the best at at it. I mean, he was uh just a sound player all the way around. I want to congratulate him and also Adam and and uh Tom Davis for uh being inducted to the Hall of Fame. Absolutely. Now, you didn’t play with Adam Jones, but you played center field here. What are your thoughts on Adam Jones as a center fielder? Adam was a joy to watch. I mean, uh the way he’s diving after the balls, way he goes at it. Um it’s just I I just love just watching him play. I mean, just a thrill to see how hard he goes at it. And uh it was sad when he left. I’ll tell you that. It was sad when he left and I’m glad he’s back with the organization. Absolutely. Three classy people, Tom Davis, Joe Orselac, and of course, Adam Jones. And one of the classiest ones of all time, Mike Deo.
