underneath cloudless skies at Bowling Brook Golf Club. A really tough start. 509 yds, par four of the first. That’s just fine. And Rama actually doesn’t even need to win this week to close the gap enough to where he could control what happens at the end after next week with the win. which is why Neman’s team. Look at him at the start of the week in 5030. Has less than a point to his name so far this season where he to maintain this fe of returning next year but certainly not relegated. Bryson hits it off at the path four second and that new blit he has made to the double dot as they call it is going to be Phil Mickelson. He was five under par after those four straight burdens between 12 and 15. He boed 17 and 18. Says he needs to finish better. But that was the breakfast of champions at Portillos’s there David the other day. I’m still recovering. Bryson’s second shot at the second hole. his first. Oh, great sign. Robert Watson put together one of the finest six hole stretches in live golf history last time out when he went eight under par to put Waco under pressure individually. Now, was he a lot of that little short punch trying to keep it under the wind here today? That’s not good. Long one for Birdie at 13. Eye on Andy Ogulry. He tied 18th in the UK last time out which got him two points which meant he climbed out of the relegation zone Munos with an excellent start and you never hear this from a swing coach. He said 100% in his head just his head’s in the right place. very very insightful [Music] RDER Cup in September. [Music] Well, he’s got that golf ball going where he’s looking again. Although that runs through the fairway. A lot of guys will there at his opening hole. And you can see just how close to the edge that hole is cut. See a lot of that today. trying to go effectively. Worst to first here in Chicago. [Music] [Applause] Bryson for Birdie at two to join the leaders on four under power. What a start. Johnson’s four races and Bryson’s crushers and Louis Gusten’s stingers by two shots. Dustin Johnson’s second shot at the first. That wasn’t pretty. No, it wasn’t. And it wasn’t a pretty lie. Obviously, you just chewed it out. This is a 100 yards right. Boy, that’s a flare. That almost sounded like it was dangerous. The early action elsewhere here in the sunshine. And uh Ian Palter, he needs to play his best golf years round in lift golf league history. That was his third shot into the 12th hole, but he’s starting off two over par. Harold Vana the third needs points break into the season long top 24 and he started nicely with a bird in the park for let’s go. [Music] Sit, sit, sit, sit, sit, sit down. It’s open over there. Oh, that’s not good. That’s watching your former captain, Dustin Johnson. Took out his Vokey wedges yesterday cuz he kept missing him righty. Well, this is another one that’s right, but should work out pretty good. put his Cleveland wedges back in. Did have to put a little water on. Carded the joint lowest round on Sunday. The entire field at the JCB last time out of 65. Just flew it a touch too far. Open zone back into the drop zone or relegation zone. It’s a big five. The same thing factoring here. The wind’s blowing pretty good. Should help move this ball a little bit to the right as it’s off its back. [Music] Drop shots then for S. Oh, this is going right at it. Maybe just a touch long as Bryson out leader. Third shot at three. [Applause] Can’t hit it fat. Yeah, [Music] serpentine leg. So, it’s really hard to trust the width right down the pipe. Brooks says hostile bias there. We mentioned his form a few moments ago and he is in a tie now for the lead. He teed off at the par five third. He birded that then at the par three fourth at the third for birdie Nicholson played the bunker shot to here. No surprise this for bogey. Oh, that’s a heck of a bunker shot. Spaniard then Jose Bay on the T five sharing the lead with none other than Bryson Dshambo. Yeah, the driver. Oh, boy. Jumped the bunker to the right side over there. It’s probably the only angle he’s got. It’s coming out hot though. Yeah, it was a good swing. Not much. floating right on him, but tough shot today. Ball’s just inside his right toe. Never has a problem keeping it down. Yeah, lovely shot. Lower these short irons are going to fly with this new ball. That’s definitely not as high. It’s straight at that TV tower. Distance looks okay. [Music] Here by a stair followed in John Ram, Phil Mickelson and Pat Perez’s footsteps by attending Arizona State US Open champ. Sergio Brooks both made their powers. See if Dustin can no just pulled it in the Olympic Games. David, he just carries himself like he expects good things out of himself. He’s got that selfbelief. I wouldn’t call it cockiness necessarily, but he’s got that selfie. [Music] Surprise me if this ends up two, three ft short. David, it’s going to be very aware of that. It’s a beautiful brilliant for birdie. And it’s so cool to see. He’s going to try and punch this one down. Time that one up better. Didn’t flare it left. Oh, that wind just died as his ball was in the air. Oh my going joint leader Bryson Shambo te’s off at five 340 to clear the bunker that’s not in play. Yeah. He’s trying to hit it on the green there side there in the rough and that’s not a great angle either with the flag on the right. Well, that’s where John wanted it. [Music] Well, elsewhere they need each type of pressure here. Lee Westward who enjoyed an excellent open championship recently. Two over par. He’s just above the drop zone. Below it though, Ian Palter. This was for par. Still in that drop zone. Henrik Stenson there or thereabouts as well. That was for the hill. Turning a little left. He just didn’t hit it enough. Phenomenal shot. We’re going to hit this green. This ball’s a mile short. I don’t know what he’s doing. Maybe that was his play and heavily disguised layup at number six. DJ at three. Really tough shot to control your spin here. He’s got a plain long mouth. He’s not going to spin back this far though. [Music] Looks better. It’s got to sit. [Music] Yeah, he did. Well, yes. where he start at the fourth playing 236. That wind just kind of calmed down right hole location sloped left to right. Bryson is second. He actually crept out onto the fairway and that is not good. A relatively simple turn on the tea at four. It’s been a tough opening three holes and then now this really tough par three downwind. Oh, settle down. The initial starting point. Never looks like that much when it’s rolling. That’s the initial starting point. That’s going to miss low. Just why he hits those ones to the left. Kind of like this one. He’s aiming for a top 10 finish in the season long standing. Just mean a lot to him to hang with the quality of field that we have here. Bryson for birdie at five. Oh yes. Second shot wasn’t his best for birdie. [Applause] [Music] expected that to Sergio for Birdie at three start. So right now all 54 players out on the course at the same time and our leader seeing off the party hold the par 36 is Bryson Dshambo. Oh and another great shot, a great chance. [Music] You see how it teed very low. Just squeezed that one out. [Music] Even down Wendy. [Music] Just a moment to go. Charl Schwarzel of the Stingers for Birdie at eight. Oh, looks like all the way down the rough. Yeah, we haven’t seen anyone fly over that ridge for that very reason. Pat, it looks Oh, it hits soft. Three champion Taylor Gu who is right back in his title winning form. Victorious in Ander 3.17 on the 236yd par three. Oh, that looked like it went right. Yeah, definitely not his best action. That’s going to sit on top of that. That may have gone down there. He likes to pick him off the tea. That’s a lot of club. We’ve seen guys hitting seven. Bryson had nine. Looks like he took a little off it. Yeah. So, he gets that release more than the other guys. Yeah. Well, how about this from Hos Bay Stair? This is at the seventh. He rolls out in good effort. That’s a terrific start for Brighton today. You just listen to the groans eliminating from all around the green ball, but about how he applies pressures and forces when he even grips the club just to take slack off the shaft. Beautiful. Yeah, Tom, I think that piece is going to be studied for years cuz it was he gave so much. Just it’s just such a liberating feeling and that’s what he does. Andy old tree with his wrist and hand tapped up. Good shot him right now. He seems to be seem trying to favor to loosen up that left hand and left wrist, but he’s he he was very careful on that first T- shot, but it seems like he’s got his speed back. Yeah, bounce back with a birdie at the park for fifth. At the expense, Jerry, once again of Henrik Stenson, who would drop in the projected standings to 49th speed there just actually got too much of it. That’s not bad there. Moment to go. This is Anaban Liheri for birdie at two and he gets it to three under drags away a little. Good shot though for birdie of five currently two off the lead. A good dash looked like it was on the fairway, but there’s a lot of rough that cuts in from the right side here. And oh, he didn’t catch it. Oh my god. He certainly didn’t. It must have come up. Just caught that so perfectly. Beautifully played. Made his birdie at nine and he is three under parked. No more than a flick with the wedge. Lovely shot from Burister. His third shot. Kane just a little overdone. Love this walk up song. Just a subtle flex. [Music] Team David Poo is a well-established league golf league player. He teed off at 10. He’s two under par for his round so far on this Super Saturday. And this second shot into 14 set on one of those birdies. So he’s one of 10 players who are three shots off the lead. Another of them is Richard Bland. His first birdie of the day came at the ninth. Looks good though. [Music] A good hit it pin high. Was in a perfect spot. Just did not hit a very good pitch to here. Star off the ninth T with an iron. [Music] Oh, that’s a swing that could last forever. [Music] So much wind up there. [Music] It’s okay. It stays out of the long stuff. He has tremendous lower body strength and coils around it with his shoulder turn. Stores the energy. One-handed finish though. Yeah. [Music] Okay. Elsewhere, Carlos Ortiz has helped to climb to fifth place. That was his second shot at 15. That led to a four holes for Carlos who is two under par overall. And Phil Mickelson a moment to go in the party hole. 30 yd par4. Oh, one-handed finish there too. Starting a little left. That just means he healed it a little. Yeah, to make this a few moments ago, he would be back amongst the points after a disappointing opening round of 736 off the lead. A better swing from Phil. Yeah, it’s a nice start at number seven. Going to have to start this way to the right. Yeah, strong crosswind. Oh boy, that is close to that. Absolutely. This was Taylor Gu. His second shot at 10, whose recent form has seen him leap way up the standings to fourth place from nowhere. That’s the sort of form that has got him just one off. Generating as much speed through the ball, trying to tumble it on there. Oh, takes a huge kick, man. Right. [Music] [Music] wind just holding that up. [Music] Good effort. Burmeister 88 yds away. His second shot at number seven. Oh, it’s a 35. As windy as this, the course is set up as tough as this. You’re going to have to accept that you will make bogeies, but don’t turn it into a double. Well, one of our relegation stories is Lee Westwood and [Applause] arguably quicker than David Poo, which is insane. Yeah, that’s 193 mph ball speed. Well, Phil Mickelson is starting to fly here at Bowling Brook. Remember that birdie not so long ago at six, the party hole to get to five under here. We hear a good Wolf has returned from a back issue which forced him to miss a couple of tournaments. This is for Birdie at 17. He was one under after an eagle at the par five 14th setup by that third shot. Oh, in fact that was the third shot here to fit it into this fairway. Can you set that dead street? May find the bunker. Yeah, bunker. You can find continuing coverage on FS2, the Fox Sports app, or the Live Golf app. Hang on, hang on, hang on. Hit it. Continue watching this compelling Super Saturday. I love you. You have the nicest calves in all of golf. [Music] Now the kick now before Bryson te’s off. It’s a read there. Oh, it’s a low one. That’s going to have some run on it. [Music] I’m not sure how much of that is the new ball, but boy, he is getting a lot out of it. This has to feel just like playing golf at home in Oklahoma City right now. Absolutely hot and Wendy. [Music] Lovely shot in the UK. That sends him up another two places to fourth. Taylor Guel by a stair at the 10th as we welcome viewers in the United States. Joining us on FS2 coming off consecutive birdies at six and seven. much room to work with between here and the pin. And that rough that ball is his front side of the green. That’s got to sit, I think. [Music] [Applause] Trying to turn that wind to hold that great line. It’s the spot to be down in the rough. It’s an uphill putt. without a birdie so far. Here’s his second shot at nine. [Music] Enjoyed a horrible day yesterday with an 82. It’s been a good response so far today. That was for birdie at four. He’s at four. The pride of Pune, India. That’s his fourth birdie of the day. Just about crept in at 11. This is for birdie turf in Spain. And then an excellent performance, a 65 on the final day at the JCB to tie seventh in the UK. And here he is with a oneshot lead in Chicago. Ball speed up to 195. Jerry. Oh my. That’s Bryson right there. He has been right there with Bryson and most of our power stats. Phil was doing that. John Ram was doing this at nine. Just runs out of pace himself. It will definitely be round. Not not after he hits it. Oh dear. Missed opportunity for Bryson. Number three. [Applause] Another beautiful swing. Michael in a couple of weeks time in Michigan. [Applause] leads by two. Right at it to save power at two. That doesn’t help. Unleashing a 10. Now it’s a guided swing. Just turned it over. [Music] Level path for his round today. Coming off a bogey at 11. for birdie at 11 and what would be a threeshot lead just a that started right well right decent line this thicker rough at 10 very upset when he saw the ball in the rough as he walked up to it. 72. He birded 12, then 14 and 15. He birded 17 and that was at 18. He’s played the back nine holes in 31. Go at the 12th. Raises her hands, gets that toe down in the ground to Yeah, it’s a perfect shot. That’s the shot. No, that’s beautifully played. Really difficult to judge that. The way he carries himself, it’s it’s almost like he expects this out of himself. This one just drifting a little right. Very easy hold today from the fairway. Not so much from the rough. [Music] Very [Music] close to that lip. Oh yeah, that sounded like a great contact. It’s the two youngsters, Bastair and Poo, that have fired the fireballs to the top of the team rankings here in Chicago. 10 under P. They’re five under today. A lead of three and Sergio could improve that situation yet. Fairway here. Able to get a little spin on this flag on the front. Not much room to work with. Yeah, I couldn’t get anything on it. Like on it. Okay. And he didn’t. Bad idea. Not that one. One. Oh. [Music] What was a promising second round after a couple of early birdies has regressed again. So consecutive bogeies [Music] to up to fourth place as well, but Meito is three under par. He’s in the top 10, which will be more than enough to save him from relegation as most this week. [Music] He’s only gained points once all season. A tied 20th in Hong Kong. His average finish punch and run at 10. That’s for Park. [Music] [Music] Brandon is done. at 15. He’s already birded 14. And that is beautifully done. And a ban to his two [Music] heard on FS1 and of course Fox Sports Radio. Great to have him here. This is John Ram’s parut at 11. So line missed the line and the speed. The second on four and the par. Come on Dicky B. He missed this eagle put up 14 but made birdie and he is set to gain some value. Annaban Lihiri at the par four seventh. That’s his fifth birdie as well. And Wako with a much needed birdie attempt. Well, awful for Waco. Lucas Herbert. Oh, and causing him a bit of a headache. Right to left putt. Just ran out of pace. Finally win a live golf league title. It is a remarkable story. Richard Bland excelling once again in the Live Golf League and he’s tied for the lead and Charles Schwarzel at this for Birdie at 14 and he moves up away for par. If he were to win, he’d be in the top 10. Oh my. SN said it. That has been his bugaboo better part of the year and into last year as well for me. and he’s not quite done there yet. That will drop Mito to one spot above the relegation zone if he puts that away. Henrik Stenson would still be in it. One event to go for everyone to save their live golf league skids in Indianapolis next week. This is Dustin Johnson at 10 for Par. Here’s Paul Casey. That’s for bird 88. He gets the three under purity at 14 the power five day. Little baby fade. Power fade. Emphasis on power, 193 ball speed, and about 150 yards a roll. [Music] to get one back at five. Yes. Good self-restraint on the want to be [Music] not wrong for Eagle. Oh, right in the center. 14 by a st there. His second shot. That’s a wedge, David. Downwind. A wedge. Wow. Right at it. He’s in the final group in career mid-season which was a head-to-head in the end between Bryson Dambo and Charles Hal the third as Portland. Oh, what a chance missed. Blandon by a stair lead by a shot on five under. Three rounds of 54 holes. A shotgun start. All scores count in the team competition. And a pitching wedge. Finally something good happened for him. Eagle on the last. Will it propel him to more birdies and eagles? Oh, that’s a good start. Richard Bland will settle for pards. need to birdie at six [Music] 300 still be rising at that point. Look at the flight on that thing. That’s a bullet. Oh, unlucky not to just make its way through that thicker stuff. That’s a lead of two. The next nine players are separated by two shots. Four of them are major champions, including Charles Schwarzel, his second shot at 16. Here he comes. [Music] Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Beautiful shot. has joined the plethora of recent eagles by the leading players here. This is at the par five 12th solo second six under one back of a stair rice and made par of 13 to stay four under. Hang in there. [Music] This was just a moment ago. Brandon Grace at 15 from just over 5T. It’s going to be downhill left to right. That’s well played. makeup. Beautiful. [Music] This at 16 Charles Schwarzel for birdie seen by a stairhead driver wedge here to the green. So that has shortened it considerably. Is that going to stay on line in the fairway? Well done. [Music] We mama looks right. Good shot. Already five under for his round. Was putting for birdie at 17. He’s got a message from his brother Heath who said, “How fun is this to watch? Makes me feel so much.” Seven for John Rob. Got to land this little short of the green. You feel another great chance for Eagle [Applause] with an eight under path, six hole stretch that earned him a second place finish, his best in the Live Golf League. Charles Al thei. This is for Birdie at 17 [Applause] plays for Bryson. He’s on five under par. And here is the captain on four under. His second shot at 14th. Gatwedge pitching wedge. Longfield had a tough one for Birdie at 13. [Music] [Applause] competition started on Championship Sunday. You might be able to afford a yacht on Monday. Oh yeah, that one gets away from him in this category. proving it a lot. I don’t know if he loves it or hates it. Right now, he drops one shot and he’s likely in the relegation zone. Oh, this has to go. Does it ever? And that is not good news. Control over his ball. He is 21. and 21 at it. He just put a great swing on that. Go ball. T’s off at the par five 14th coming off an eagle at 12 and a Bley at 13. He’s solo second on seven under paraesque [Music] period of play here. This is to go eagle birdie eagle. Oh, it was so desperately close. But Ram is making a move. Four and a half through his last three holes. Five under for the competition now. Legion 13. It’s leaking right at that side bunker. He’s going to wish he was in that bunker. Maybe 132. Oh dear. Stop moving. What are you going Dicky B at 18? Sounded like a thick lie. That’ll run. Yeah. No way to get any breaks on it from that line. Try and turn it back in towards the green. Oh, no. He’s not going to turn it that far. He smoked it. Didn’t get any movement. Yeah, that’s a kind of a thin angle from there. Not the best miss. Meo chopped it out from short left and had this for par distance. [Music] the center of this green. Oh. Oh, and that may have buried second 14. Oh, baby. [Applause] Go. That was pretty [Music] well played. He boied the 11th, but then the rampage began. This his T-shot at the par 313th which led to birdie as he steadily climbs the pylon seeking a first win of the season which will who is struggling here in Chicago and Rahm could yet leave Chicago leading the title race with one event to play this was his second shot of 14 it was another eagle opportunity he settled for a birdie but it’s a four underpart threehole stretch that has [Music] needed another couple of yards to the sneak. Good effort. Good shot. In a bit of a groove. Oh, came out kind of a glancing blow. Came out sideways on him for eagle. Not bad. forward. Well played. Burmy got a bad break. It was right in front of the green. Was got to hammer. That’s going to get it there. Farther right. See the fair would be no problem for him. Yeah, he’s got it on the short stuff. He can spin it from there. Oh, it’s down wind and he’s chased after that. Yeah. Does that flat flight runs about 50 yards to the left contour make it spin a hair right when it grabs this well short. They won the inaugural team event in London 2022. Their last win was in Tulsa in 2023. They beat the four races by a a single shot. Simple chip. [Music] Nicely done. He had to get a 900. 30 runs about to come to an end. Like you said, David, I can’t see how you can go for this pit. We know how firm this top half of the green is. Some aggressive play downwind went and everything is downhill towards this pin. Oh, he overdid it. He’s too close to the green from that angle. Yeah, David, his ball landed in the middle of the fairway the left side of the big mound and it Kareem way left. That came out left. Was trying to hit it. Works out. Yeah, that’s really a good shot from there. Get a lot of spin on it. This is Mito Pereira’s third shot at 18 and he gets it right. [Music] A shame he didn’t take full advantage of that length. Now a tricky chip. My goodness. And some work left now. Wrong. [Music] Bryson didn’t get the contact he wanted there. He was up against the scene. Well, for the second straight hole, Bayister has a test of par and this one misses. Good firm. The seven iron from Burmy. A kick right soft. That takes a huge first bounce. Yeah, he didn’t get either. [Music] Just misjudged that off the first T. Got to hit this fairway. It is the hardest green to find. And should be okay. First cut, but not bad. Sit down. Sit. Sit down. Left and long. How this ball works in this wind. How can he keep this down? He doesn’t want it to ride this wind. [Music] Stinger lead by three again. and he was just inches off the fairway there and hits into the slope which probably kept it on the green really. It was Sergio off his T-shot at 15. Couple holes here. That’s not going to make him smile either. Oh wow. Wonderful try. Fast. He’s made a few loose swings towards the end of this round. Good shot at 17. [Applause] Every single shot is so important at this stage. He’s left a few short last few holes. Five at the park for his round so far and bogey free. Uh-oh. [Music] That’s not good. No. And that’s likely going to have to in a lot of pain the last few hoes. That left wrist is really bothering him. He showed me off the back of the 14th green. He could hardly move his thumb and his fingers. A cool story about me. When I had an interview with Waco, he actually before interviewing him, he was asking all about me and where he was. And that just shows the brothership of that team. But that was not his. [Music] Oh, great shot. So good. Right on the bubble for a top 24 finish and a guaranteed spot in the live golf league next season. But that was pretty much for Burmy. Don’t need to get real cute. Only thing left of that pin middle of the green do just fine. That’s exactly what he’s doing. Soft at the front there. [Music] Oh, what a huge buns. Difference between them. Just effortless power. [Music] I guess 30 or 40 yards on the grind out of that. [Music] That’s a good line. Leave a good angle in if it stays at short short dish grass. That’s a mile up there. Just a moment to go. Sergio so far. Filled second at 17. Maestro won’t be particularly happy with that one. Keep it straighter anyway. [Music] Strap it in. Oh. That will shorten the 18th considerably. Oh my word. Oh, he didn’t. I can tell you guys it’s 10 paces from the front edge of the green. 10 paces. This is short of the hole. It’s a little further than where he wanted it. Oh, grabs beautifully though. Lovely shot has got it to five under and that’s how he did it at 14. The first consecutive double bogeies for Charles Schwarzel Louis in as boi the eighth. So they dropped to nine under. They trail the fireballs by two. Bryson went very low with them. Oh, watchito Pereira. Straight into the breeze here. Trying to knock one down into this left hole location. Just drifting a little right. Oh, to get it close. That was a good shot. [Music] Oh, [Music] looked like he liked it. Try that. A lot softer than most right there. Yeah, that one was deep in the rough. What about back nine holes at Bowling Brook here for John Ram? This is at 18. His penultimate hole to get to seven under par as the shadows lengthen here. Two. He was two over without a birdie. Oh yeah. Come on. DJ is 10 shot. [Music] hating so much [Music] resulted something very special. Yeah, you’re right, Jerry. Oh, he like that T- shot. Yeah, that one climbed out a little bit. He won’t be happy with the distance he gets out of it, but he’ll take it right down the middle. That one spun more than he wanted. Well, he once trailed by eight going into a final 17. He’s always a little low. Two shots. This is his second at 18. [Applause] Hermas’ final hole. hasn’t had the day that he wanted, but this was for birdie at 17. That’s pretty much sir. Come on, DJ. Here we go. Maybe just chase it up to the green. [Music] Camo pretty well for him. Mhm. He’s hit some beautiful putts today. And that’s another one. [Music] [Applause] Nice job. [Applause] And John Ram rolls that in for his part at one. Position he was in to start off with. He knew what he had to do. got off to a bad start and then just came back like a freight train. Can Bryson end his round with a birdie? He certainly tied for second place. But this is Sergio for par at 18.
