Matthew’s got three teddy bears and he was given those on the day he was born. Every night since he was born, he slept with those teddy bears. He named them Teddy 1, Teddy 2, and Teddy 3. To be honest, I don’t know if that was dedication or just lack of creativity. Either way, we knew Matt was a man of deep loyalty. So, Amber, take comfort because if Matt could love those three titties for 20 years, imagine the love and devotion he’s going to show to you. There’s plenty of room in your life for all four of you. When I came back to Deneden, I hardly recognized Matt. He was completely different. For one, he could actually pull off having facial hair. Number two, he wore things other than football t-shirts and chinos. Let’s go. Thirdly, there was a girl and he was very serious about her. I have known Amber for about eight years and in that time I have watched Amber grow into the beautiful, kind, hardworking and intelligent and amazing woman that she is today. She was always my rock throughout high school. And although she moved to Deneden, she was only ever a phone call away. Hello. So pretty. Matthew, from day one, you entered my life at a pretty turbulent time. And when you had every chance to run, you stuck by me and have continued to stick by me every day since. I know many people here are familiar with how indecisive I can be. But today, in front of all of our favorite people, I’m making the easiest decision of my life, to become your wife. I know in you, I found my true life partner, my best friend. And as I look to our future, I feel so blessed to have a front row seat to watch you become the best at our children. Growing up, I wasn’t sure if the love I dreamed about would ever find me. And then I met you. And the way you look at me makes me feel like I’m easy to be loved. You showed me what it was like to be seen and understood. What it felt like to be loved and adored in every way. I thank God every day that he chose the skinny jeanwearing drama boy for me. And he gave me a love beyond anything that I could ever pray for. Thank you for showing me kindness and patience and for loving every part of me unconditionally, even the parts that I find hard to love about myself. You are smart, incredibly funny, and thoughtful. You are the only person who can turn my tears into laughter and the only person I want to run to at the end of the day. You are home to me and you make forever feel like not enough time to share together. Maddie, you can kiss your wife. I promise to choose to love you every day, to be the sounding board for your dreams and goals, and to support and encourage you in everything you do. I promise to spend every day trying to make you as happy as you make me. I look forward to growing old and great with you, and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us. I first met Amber approximately 19 years, 10 months, and 7 days ago, give or take a few days and hours. I honestly can’t say I remember much about the first few interactions, but Amber has been a good enough older sister since then. Amber’s always been a role model. I don’t even know I needed. So, I remember arriving at the wonderful Denedian airport that isn’t in Deneden. It’s in Moscow. But I made my way down the escalator and I saw Amber standing there. But then there was some other weird guy I’d never seen before standing. Now, I knew for sure it wasn’t one of her flat mates cuz I had seen photos and video calls of them. And I remember as I was going down asking myself kind of two questions. Why is the Uber driver standing with her? And why did he go for skinny jeans that tight? I think everyone can agree that when they go home after spending time with Amber, they feel refreshed, seen, and valued. Not many people at all get to say that they have the most caring, selfless, funny, intelligent, and driven sister in the whole world. Amber, you’re so lucky. So, let us raise our glasses to Amber and Matt. May your marriage be filled with laughter, love, and countless adventures for a lifetime of happiness together. Cheers to Matt and Amber.
