Graves Golf co-founder Tim Graves, PGA, will be hosting a Special Edition of Plane Talk – Driving for Dummies
Imagine if you could add 10 more yards and consistently hit more fairways in regulation … what could that do to your score?
Tim will clear up the myths, answer your questions, and give you simple, no-fluff solutions that actually work with the Single Plane Swing.
Here’s just a sample of what we’ll cover:
How far should you stand from the ball with driver?
Where should the ball be in your stance off the tee?
What’s the ideal tee height—and when should it change?
What is launch angle and how do you get a good one? (Hint: It’s not just swing.)
The #1 mistake we see Single Plane golfers make with driver— and how to fix it before it wrecks your takeaway.
The simple driver drills that actually work— including the yardstick trick and “hitting the tee” drill.
Whether you’ve been struggling with consistency or just want to add 10+ yards to your drives, this is Plane Talk you don’t want to miss.

Heat. Heat. Heat. Oh, heat, heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Hey everybody, I want to welcome you to the um August Plane Talk and I I want to welcome you to Graves Golf Academy and I w again I welcome you to the August Plane Talk and for all those that are new out there, I want to welcome you guys into um um Graves Golf Academy and we’ve been doing this for over 25 years and um actually had just had our 25 year celebration. This is our 25th year that we’re working on um working with Graves Golf and we’ve been teaching schools all over the country and so on. And uh I want to thank you guys for being part of that and I know a lot of you guys have been with us for just a few minutes. Some of you guys have been with us for years and years and years. I want to thank you all for being part of that. Um tonight um is going to be kind of a special night. It’s kind of a special program and we like doing this every so often. We kind of we overlap this with our plane talks, but tonight is um we call it driving for dummies or driver for dummies. And we kind of did that as a fun terminology or fun fun little a fun moniker over the title tonight because today we’re going to talk about is we’re going to talk about driving. And the reason we’re really going to do that and talk about the driver and the reason we’re really going to do this is because this month starting here in just a few days we have our single plane university going out which is our 42-day program on driver optimization. It is every it’s a stepby-step dayby day 1 day 2 day three day four day five and so on about working with the driver. Okay. and working on the driver. And since it talks about techniques in the driver, um optimizing the driver, speed with the driver, accuracy with the driver, everything, you know, and and the reason we’re doing this now, and I hope you guys I think a lot of you guys understand this out there, but you know, um over a year ago now, it’s been probably about a year and a half ago, we started the single plane 30. And the single plane 30 what that is it’s a program we put together that um people go in and what they do is they follow basic single plane information step by step by step of um from for 30 days and they’ve loved it. So it’s just day one you do this day two you do to this day three you do this just a few minutes every single day. Well they loved it. They loved the way that was set up you know dayby-day you know instruction from wherever you are. And um so we decided to put together a single plane university and we’ve already had a few units out in that. We’ve already had one on putting. We’ve had one on chipping. We’ve had one on on how to practice on the range. And this is the basically the fourth one we’ve had out and it’s called driver optimization. And we knew it’d be very very popular because guys, you know, and we’ll talk about this in a minute, but what’s the three most important clubs in the bag for scoring? There’s no doubt about it. Number one’s the putter, number two is the driver, number three is the most lofted wedge. In fact, that’s typically 75% of your game right there. If you’re if you’re good with the putter, you’re good with the driver, you’re good with the the most lofted wedge in your bag, um you you can score well. and we’ll talk more about that. But so this is so this month starting um next Monday for the next basically five weeks going on six weeks is driver optimization program and and we’re going to be all about that. We’ll talk more about that. In fact, we have a phenomenal special. In fact, we we kind of went nuts with the special cuz we want to get everybody into it cuz we know how important it is. You know, we just finished up the shipping portion. We just finished up the single plane university chipping. I know a lot of you contacted me how fun that was and how excited you were and how much better your chipping is now. And now we’re starting the driver the single plane university, the driver optimization. All right, but before we get into that, I want to go over a few announcements, okay? And I’m going to bring James Bell in here as we do this because I’m bringing James in. You guys know I usually bring James in for this cuz first of all, I mess everything up. We talk announcements, but second of all is James two roles other than being a master instructor with Graves Golf. You know, guys, when you come to probably three4s of schools, you’ll see James there. It seems like he travels and travels to the schools. He takes care of my instructors out there and ones in the field. is the biggest things Jame does for me other than teach which is huge is um he’s my school manager so he’s running the schools he’s directing the schools he’s setting up the schools he’s processing schools and he also helps you run the trade and trade up program try to anyway yeah exactly and and those are two very big things going on right now so we’re going to give these real quick announcements and then um I’m going to go into kind of what more about the program tonight and then we’re going to go out on the range so the reason we’re filming this and I’m going to tell you guys this right now we’re filming this a little bit early we’re going to go out on the range because I want want to be able to do some we’re going to do some driver work tonight. We’re going to do some basic information about the driver about about fundamentals of the driver, some some Q&A on the driver and so on. That’s what we’re going to do tonight. Okay. Let’s go over these let’s go over these announcements real quick. First one’s about schools. Okay. And um we just finished in fact um when this is aired, we’ve just finished our second plane school here. Second plane school. And guys, if you haven’t been to a plane school, that’s where we get you on the course for two days and we literally go over every shot in the book. In fact, the very first morning of the school, um, I bring up a topic of, tell me, come up with some shots that you guys think we can’t go over and everybody comes up with a list and we go, we cover them. We cover everything. We literally spend two days on the golf course. You have to think of the short the short game school. If you’ve been to the short game school, you understand it’s all about around the greens. You go to this playing school. This is all about off the tea, off the fairway. It’s the short game school on steroids. So now, of course, tell them about tell them about the schedule a little bit. What’s going on with the schedule? It’s a tough. First of all, we have a special in schools, right? Yeah. We’re going to take uh right now uh through the week uh $200 off the price of our schools, plus if there’s you get your member discount, plus you get any school credit you have on there, right? So, come on out. Uh we’ve released, if you haven’t seen it yet, uh shame on you, but we’ve released the uh fall schedule all the way through the first week of December. Uh we’ll work on this one, get this out. Uh want to highlight a couple schools that are coming up. Um, we’ve got the AEI short game school the 23rd through the 26th. Guys, that’s the ultimate scoring school. That’s you want to drop your handicap the fastest. You come in two days for the mental game school, which talks about pre-shot, inshot, post shot routines, teaches you how to practice, teach you the perfect way to practice, teaches you how to optimize your practice is what it’s all about. And then we walk right into the short game school. And that’s two days of working on everything around the green. I mean, 60% of your scoring occurs within 100 yards of the green. In fact, it’s a little bit higher than that, but that’s what we work on. We work on chipping, pitching, putting, we do aim point, we do green reading, we do everything in the short game school. This is the optimal scoring school. And um if you can come and majority of the people come for the TW for all four days, two days of mental game school, two days of short game school. The guys that come for the two g the two days with the mental game school first, their perspective going into the short game school, it’s it’s night and day. It’s it’s eye opening and they they now approach the short game side of it in a different light. Um it’s a different thought process going into it. It’s amazing to see 100%. All right. So, and was now we’ve got Orlando, Palm Desert, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. Las Vegas. Um guys, that’s our fall schedule. You’re not going to see anything else besides that. And these are 3-day, 5day specialist schools and so on. Get in. Get in. Get in now. And guys, people always ask me this, James, you know, our spring schools fill up very, very fast, but our fall schools typically don’t. I mean, they tend tend to fill up a little bit slower. Tell people why it’s such a big deal to come into a fall school. The fall school for the majority of golfers because all of a sudden, the golf ball goes away for the winter time, right? So, we set you in the correct fundamentals in the correct positions. We get you moving correctly. We get you working through the golf swing better. And then we send you home where you’re not going to hit golf balls and you have something very specific to work on for the next three months. What this allows you to do, it gives you all this information to work on throughout the the the rest of the fall, the winter, maybe early early spring. So that when you’re into your golf season next year or maybe it’s maybe you do some traveling this winter, whatever it is, you have time to digest this, go over this, work with this. Too many people come out in the spring and they come to a April school or maybe a May school and then they’re expected to jump right into their school, their their their, you know, play bread of golf right away. they don’t give themselves time to digest it, to work on it. You know what I’m saying? In fact, I just sent out an email that that Ralph Rabigo, who’s one of our master instructors, we call him the professor out, you know, he’s out in the West Coast. He does helps with our Phoenix schools. He does our Palm Desert schools. He does, you know, the the Vegas schools. And Ralph talked about the process of learning how to try to slow it down to really get the most out of it. And that’s the whole point. You can’t go into a school and say, “One day I’m going to get this. It takes time.” Well, you come to a fall school, it gives you that time. It gives you that time. And as we see that, there’s no doubt about that. There’s a reason why the best players in the world do all of their major swing changes at the end of their season and they have a chance over the winter time. Gives you time. So guys, get in one of those schools. We got specials going on right now. If you’re members, you get your member discount. Get a hold of these guys. So tell them the way to get a hold you real quick. Uh quickly, uh give us a call 4052506960. Email me direct at jamesbgravesgolf.com or email us at schoolsgravesgolf.com. The easy way to do it. Perfect. Second announcement, we’re going to get through these real quick so we can get you guys out on the range. Second announcement is the we have the single plane shootout. It’s October 15th and 16th. It’s it’s here at our home base, Oklahoma City, guys. Our home base here is amazing. In fact, we just hired a new superintendent and it’s it’s crazy. These greens know running fast. They’re awesome. They’re almost No, they’re good. They are awesome. In fact, uh there’s three major country clubs around here a lot of professionals playing and they’re coming over here saying, “These greens are the best.” No, they’re amazing. They are amazing. We got a guy. They’re amazing. But guys, basically what the single plane shootout is is don’t think of it as a tournament. It’s a fun get together for single plane golfers that we’re going to have four nine hole scrambles. So we’re going to literally and part of that nine-hole scramble is a little shootout in there. It’s a putting contest in there. We’re going to have fun and we’re going to score it. So we’re going to play four times. We’re going to switch groups around. You’re going to be able to go out and get on the golf course and have a blast with other single playing golfers. We’re going to have meals. We’re going to have lunch. We’re going to have dinners in here that all taken care of. We’re going to have um clinics. We’re going to have demos going on. Um Chris is going to be doing a flexibility and exercise um clinic. I’m going to be doing a short game clinic. Todd’s will be doing a long game clinic. So this is all set up and involved in there. They you guys come in, you’re involved in all this. It’s it’s it’s it’s all inclusive. If you want to bring a guest, you can bring a guest for the dinner and for the lunches. We got that covered. You can pay a little extra if you can get that covered. But guys, it’s October 15th and 16th. I want to announce it cuz right now it’s basically two months away. Um we’re limiting it to 70 people um because of the facility we have here, which is is quite a few. Right now we’re over 50. I think we’re we’re we’re in the mid-50s. So, we’ve only got a few spots left. Okay. In fact, Chris is telling me we’re just like 53 54. So, we’ve only got a few spots left, guys. I promise you, we’ve had these in the past year. We had one in Dallas um recently. We’ve had him in the past. We’ve had them up in Canada in the past in Vegas. We’ve had in Vegas two years ago. They’re a blast. They are absolutely a blast. Okay? They’re they’re a blast. Get in. You’ll come in here. You’ll have a blast. So, not only will you get a little bit of instruction, get some clinics, have some fun, but you’ll meet a ton of other single plane golfers and have a blast with them. It’s a lot of fun. We have prizes. We have awards. It’s a lot of fun. I think that’s the push for this one. It’s going to be more fun getting to the community together, guys. It’s a community. It’s a single plane shootout. You get to come into the facility. Have fun. You guys, you come in a day day early or stay a day late, you can practice our facility, have some fun, play at our facility. So, come in a day early in the afternoon, jump on our facility, have some fun with it. It’s not going to cost you anything. Stay a day late. Same thing. I mean, you come in for the facility, you can come in for the the shootout, you use our facility for a couple days. No big deal. So, have some fun. It’s a blast. It’s absolutely a blast. Come in. The facility right now is amazing. It’s the course is amazing. I mean it is it’s I haven’t seen it prettier. People are calling a little Augusta right now. I mean they are it’s it’s amazing. Okay. So okay. So guys October 15th 16th get in ASAP. Okay. And there’s a link involved here. You can look at that link or give us a call. Get in quick. Um next announcement and I really want to cover this for just a couple minutes. We have the double tradein bonus special that ends basically next week. Okay. So it ends here just a couple days guys. This is you can buy any elite product or any Apex product. any Callaway Elite, can be driver, fairwoods, hybrids, irons, can be any of them, or any Apex product, any the new Apex irons, and you get anything you trade in, you get double bonus towards double bonus. Okay? So, if you have a driver worth $100 in the on the bonus list, we get you $200 for it. You got some wedges that are worth 100 or 150 bucks, we get you 300 bucks. It’s worth double. Okay, James and I have been overwhelmed with this because it’s been going on for almost a month. That’s why we want to bring this up. It ends here. It’s closing up. Okay, now so don’t miss your opportunity. You can email me at timggragolf.com. timgragolf.com. And I’ll be working like mad over the next few days to get all these orders in before the deadline. Okay, James has been we’re getting this stuff in. We’re getting it cranked out fast. Please don’t wait. Don’t wait till midnight. Don’t wait till, you know, 11:30 on August 10th to do this because you guys it’s it’s we got to get it in. Okay. You do not send your trade in clubs in until after you get the new ones. So don’t be alarmed. You hold your trade in clubs. We get you the new ones and you send them in. We just have to get it on a list and sent into Callaway in the training facility before the deadline. That’s what we got to do. Okay. Now, just for a few seconds here, I’m going to talk about this. We’ve This is something that you guys might want to consider. And I have a hybrid here and a fairway wood here. Okay? And these are both elite. I know a lot of you guys have purchased hybrids and or fairway woods out there. If you guys are thinking about switching them out, like let’s say you have maybe a four hybrid, a five hybrid in there and you want to switch them off for fairing woods, maybe you want to go to a sevenwood and nine wood instead because you’re just not hitting those those hybrids that well or maybe vice versa. Do it now because the when you double the value of the clubs, it’s not an even trade, but it’s very close. It can’t get much closer. In fact, if you go from hybrids to fairway woods, it’s like a $20 difference, a $30 difference to go up. Am I right? if if that it may not it may even be less than that. If you go from a fairwood to hybrid, it’s almost an even trade. It’s an even trade. So, meaning if you have, let’s say you have a uh a four hybrid in there and you’re saying, “Maybe I want to try that sevenwood instead. I just want to try it.” Get the sevenwood, buy it, we’re going to charge you for it, and then when you turn in that hybrid, you get the credit back, the money back to you, and you may cost you 9 to 10, 11, 15, 12 bucks, depending on what it is, to get that new that new club. Yep. Guys, this is the time to do it. If you’re if you’re thinking of swapping a four hybrid for a sevenwood, a five hybrid, or for maybe a ninewood, or maybe a six hybrid for an 11wood, and that’s become very popular. Yeah, now is the time to do it because it’s only a few dollars to do it. If you wait after this, that trading value goes down in half and it’s going to cost you 100 bucks, maybe 150 bucks to do it per club. Now, you can almost do it even. Yep. And am I right? Yeah. Yeah. It’s with the beginning of the year, we had this the, you know, we called it the lease program. the members called the lease program and we took advantage of the best value of your trade clubs. Now we’re getting to the end of the year. Callaway’s going here’s this double bonus. It’s it’s as good as that is. It’s it’s great if you missed it. And guys, here’s the deal. I still have the special offers for all the elite clubs. So, if you buy an elite driver for me, you buy elite fairwoods, hybrids, irons for me, it’s less than you’re going to get them online. It’s less than you’re going to get them from anybody else. I save you a few bucks. Yes. You put a package. Let’s say you buy a driver, Fred, win some irons. I will even draw I’ll even give you a little better more deal. I’ll even save you a few more dollars. So, package deal. I’ll even save you a few more dollars. And then we start throwing this trade double bonus in here. It’s amazing. That’s why we call the triple play. The triple play is I’ll save you money in individual clubs. Straight up. You’ll pay less for individual clubs. Second of all, they’re custom at no cost to you. Third of all is that if you put packages together buying more than a few clubs, I’ll even save you a few more dollars. I’ll throw a few more dollars off. Then you get the double bonus in there. That’s the triple play. And guys, this is the time of year. That’s why we get so busy this time of year. For the month of usually July and August, we’re just swamped. But I want to bring this up because it ends here in a couple days. I don’t think Callaway is going to extend it this year. I don’t know. But they have been overwhelmed with it also. So I usually they extend it a week. I don’t think they are. So the deadline’s August 11th. We got to get this stuff in. Okay. So um I think that’s all the all the announcements I have for you. I think we’re good. Yep. So guys, email me at timggragolf.com. timgragolf.com and we’ll get we’ll get this thing rocking. Okay, now here’s the last announcement for you guys and then I’m going to go into some specifics for tonight. I’m going to go in some stuff that you guys have never seen. I promised you this. I promise you some numbers, some stuff that you guys have never seen in the first 15 minutes. And trust me, we’re going to get there. Okay, but before we do this next Monday, August 11th, we start the driver the single plane university driver optimization program. This is our instructional program that starts this next Monday. It’s a 42-day program that’s day by day by day. Now, guys, it’s not an hour or two every day. It’s just a few minutes every day. And if you miss a few days, you just make it up. So, let’s say you miss four or five days in a row cuz you’re traveling or something’s going on. It’s fine. You just make it up in a day. You just get caught up. It’s not a big deal. Takes you a few minutes to get caught up. But what it is, the driver optimization program, it is the A to Z on how to hit a driver more efficiently, more effectively. It starts with basics, starts with principles, fundamentals, and works through drills. Works through drills to get accuracy, drills to get speed, drills to optimize your driver. Everything you wanted to know about a driver, afraid, afraid to ask in single plane. It talks everything. I promise everything. And it’s a program that Todd’s Todd does this. He leads the instruction in this, but he works what you do is you work individually at home through this program. Okay? And then if you choose and you can you don’t you can or you don’t have to. you send in videos to the coach at different times to make sure you’re on path with this. If you don’t want to, that’s fine. If you don’t want to send in videos, that’s fine. You don’t have to. Okay? We suggest it at different times, maybe once a week, once every couple weeks. You’ll see it throughout the program. We log you can log we can log with the coach your op your continuation, your your actually progress. We can do all that. So, you can go as deep down this rabbit hole in this program as you want. We have Zoom sessions set up in this program. So you actually can go in and talk and we walk with you guys through Zoom sessions and kind of a community question and answer session that are just over this program. So instead of going to a plane talk and you have all these random questions coming in, you literally have Zoom sessions just over driver optimization or how to hit the driver better. Okay? And I’m going to bring Chris in real quick. So Chris Hane, I’m going to bring him in. He’s the guy that runs that runs this thing. He runs this show on this and he’s going to talk to you about the special and then I’m going to start cranking him into the driver for the night. Okay. So, so yeah, I’m really excited about this because I know we teach single plane quite a bit, but we don’t don’t really focus on the driver. And I feel like the driver, uh, if you can get this thing into the fairway, you can get it into play. Your score is going to go down. We here’s the deal. We focus on the driver and all our schools, we talk about driver and so on, but it’s a portion of the schools, you know, the single plane 30 is about the general concepts of the it’s basic basic concepts, the single plane swing. This is all about the driver. Think about it. You got different ball position. You got you got, you know, your arc gets different a little bit on the driver. You got different ways to hit the driver. We got how do you accuracy? How do you get more distance? What do you do? How do you special with the driver? Just like I said, guys, if you don’t chip and pitch it well, which is the wedge in your bag, if you don’t putt it well, you don’t hit your driver well, you can’t score well. And the driver is one of them. Okay. Absolutely. So, Chris, go over the special real quick with them. Guys, this is a knock your socks crazy special. And I mean that. This isn’t one of those blow smoke. This is it right now. And I want to go and he’s going to go over this special right now for you guys. Okay. Yeah. We actually got into a little bit of an argument because I feel like this price is too low. But here’s the deal. I’m the one that said it, right? I’ll take the heat on this because I need you guys in this program. I need every one of you guys watching this in this program and you’re going to see what I mean by this because the the last three single plane university units we put out, which was one of was putting, one was over chipping, and one was over how to practice on the range of the full swing. They were basically the pricing was $6.99 and $9.99. So it’s $6.99 for members, $9.99 for non-members. So guys, it’s basically a,000 bucks for those each one of those each one of those programs is a,000 bucks. And you you just will not believe this when we reveal it. So now go ahead and hit it cuz I want to get Go ahead, Tristan. Pull that slide up. Just right there. Okay. All right. So what we’re going to do, we’re going to give you 42 days of driver training and you’re going to get a checklist every single morning exactly what to do. It’s anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes every single day. So you get you basically get something. It could be a drill. It could be something to look at. It’s something to do every single day. If you can’t do it every day, you can get caught up. People freak out and say, “Oh, I mean, guys, it’s you’re going to go step by step by step.” It’s like going to college, you miss class for a few days. It’s not a big deal. You you get caught up. Okay? And the way the program is built, you will get that repetition. This is all about reps. This is all about learning how to set up for the driver. Uh, like Tim was talking about earlier, there’s some nuances to hitting a driver. So, you’re going to learn all of that stuff. Uh, to make that even better, you know. So, normally that program cost $9.99. Yeah. That’s what I told you. So, right now, if we put this straight out that normal, this normal program cost you a,000 bucks. If you’re a member, $6.99. If you’re a non-member, it’s a,000 bucks. No question. The bonuses or what? So, the next bonus, uh, you know, once you find the fairway, it’d be nice to be a little further along down the fairway. So, we’re going to give you the driving for distance workshop. That’s $699. You get that at the very beginning. Absolutely. So, you get that workshop at the very beginning. So, if you guys if you sit there and you 15 minutes isn’t enough for you and even day, you get that at the very beginning. Okay. 100%. Next one, you get what? Yep. So, the next one you’re going to be able to work alongside a single plane certified coach through the entire program. So, that’s six weeks, right? Okay. And there’s nothing better than having eyes on what you’re doing. So you guys, you can send in basically unlimited videos. Now, we’re going to call the form at times, but you can send in videos during this. Okay. Yep. I only ask that you follow the program and the video that you send in is matches your program. Right. Exactly. Cuz that’s just going to make your experience much better. In other words, you’re not sending a putting video during the driver optimization program. Exactly. Right. Next one. Okay. Next one. Yeah. So, uh, one last thing about that real quick is this is going to accelerate your learning curve. Like you’re just going to go you’re going to turbocharge it. FYI, gentlemen and ladies out there, a lot of this program is done inside. A lot. In fact, I’m not going to say majority, but a lot of this program is done inside. Now, you can always take it outside, but a lot of this is done inside. It can be, so it can be done in your office, your basement, your garage, whatever. Okay, next one. So, the next one we already spoke about the checklist emails. Uh, and then the one after that, um, you’re going to get access to all this and I want you to start day one doing this program, right? It’s the flexibility and fitness and that’s with Tim and I think Dave. Yeah, Dave. Dave Predson. Yep. So, this is all TPI certified materials. These are all things you’re going to get on day one and we’re it’s going to help you through the program and then you got the weekly Zoom coaching calls. Yeah, absolutely. So, you’re going to be able to circle the wagons. You’ll be able to ask any questions just like you can on here. You can ask questions. So, basically the program itself, go back to that slide if you would. The program itself, 42 days, you got driving for distance which is on on demand. You get that workshop straight out. That’s like I think that’s like like 20 hours. You get the single plane coaching. You get the daily checklist which you get every day. You get the flexib fitness guy which is like six hours. You get the weekly Zoom calls which is you know going to be four or five of those. Six of those. And then that’s all that together is basically $2,100. Yeah. $2,162. And this is what it’s going to cost you if you get into it now. Yep. And the cost is $2.97 for a non-member. 197 for level three members. Yeah. And that’s crazy. Okay, now guys, if you’re a level four, level five single plan academy member, you know, all these single plan universities are covered. They are free. You’ve already had the last three free. You get this one free. And everyone we do every month from now on, you guys know that is free. Okay? And we’ve got, you know, we have 10 in the can that are coming out that are ready to go. But back to that slide one more time because I want to make sure you guys understand that. I want because they’re not going to believe this because I want to make sure that’s why Chris is up here because I want to witness this is the guy doing it. This is the guy that’s taking the taking the deal. He’s the one setting it up. all of that. So, it’s 297 for a non-member. Okay. And if you’re level three member, it’s 197. Yep. Okay. That’s what it is. So, it’s less than 300 bucks. Guys, this is a month and a half of training with a driver day to day to day, every single day, plus all those bonuses for less than $300. Up to this point, this has cost $1,000. So, we cut this thing in third. This is how much I want to get you guys in this program. I want you to get a taste of single plane university. I want to get you a taste of what’s going on. This is the thing that Graves Golf is doing now. This is the biggest thing Graze Golf is doing now other than our schools is the single plane university. I need everybody to understand it out there because the university like you you do SP30. We sell a lot of those every single month. This thing is just crazy how much more guys. This is SP30 on steroids. SP30 is very basic information. It’s great, but it’s very basic information. This is going to the next level. This is the thing on steroids. I just got done the chipping one and I’ve had numerous testimonials for guys going, I cut my stats in half. It’s crazy. I mean, I’m getting up and down. I was getting 10% up and down and now I’m getting 40 to 60% up and down. I went from shooting a 90 to like the high7s. I mean, I we’ll show you those stats. We’re not going to waste time tonight just by going through these programs. Well, one thing, if you do the the fitness aspect of that and you become more efficient with your driver, I guarantee you’re going to add 10 yards distance and you’re going to you’re going to shrink every hole driver optimization. And we’re going to get into this. So, and I’m good with Chris. We’re good. But I want to talk about this, guys. We’re good. Just give me one second. Driver optimization is about accuracy with the driver, consistency with the driver, distance with the driver. Is that right? That’s what this is all about. It’s distance, accuracy, consistency. Distance, accuracy, consistency. So, you hit more fairways, you hit it better more often, you hit it longer. That’s what this is all about. That’s what this program is set up for. So, you have a month and a half of working through this. It’s a perfect time of year to do this, okay? cuz you still got golf growing this year and you use it forever. Okay. And that’s what tonight So tonight’s program and I want to thank Chris. So thanks bud. Tonight’s program is all about getting the basic basic and starting you a little bit into the driver. That’s what tonight’s about. But I want we’re going to bring Chris up later. He’s going to talk about the special. I know you guys are going to freak out. So I’m ask Chris this. What do they do to get that special? If they want to get in right now, what do they do? Uh go to the link below. Okay. Go to the link below and get in. Go to the link below. The link below. And how is there a limited number on this? 10. 10. Okay. 10. The reason there’s limited. He said there’s 10. And the reason it’s limited is because guys, you’re working with coaches. You work with coaches. So this, you know, we we we work with coaches with this is limited. Okay? So it’s limited to 10. So guys, get in there. Link below. Get in ASAP. I would say this thing’s a deadline coming up in a few days, but it’ll fill up here by the end of this program probably. And then you can email me. Level three members. Level three members. You can email Chris at chris hgragolf.com or email me at timggragolf.com. We’ll make sure to get in there because you guys are already in. You’re already using coaches. So, we’re good there. That 10 number is for people that are not members. New people out there that are not members, the 297 price, there’s a limit of 10. Okay. Level three members, I expect every one of you to get in this thing. I mean that. Come on. That’s why you’re a member is to work on this. Okay. Now, here’s the new information I want to talk about for tonight. And I’m going to throw this out and let’s start talking about the driver. I’m going to talk about this for a couple minutes in here and then we’re going to get outside, okay? And we’re going to go and we’re going to work on the range. We’re going to do some Q&A out there in the range. But here’s what I want to talk about. So, I’m going to bring up this first slide. A lot of you guys have seen this. A lot of you guys may have not, but we present this in our short game schools and our AAI schools and our Encourse Schools. This is this is statistics that are done with a 100,000 golfers. 100,000 golfers um by the United States Golf Teaching Foundation. That’s where these statistics were done. It was done a few years ago. And I want to show you this real quick. This is the driving distance average in fairway issues hit by handicap. So if you look at this real quick, you will see that for a scratch golfer, that’s a guy that shoots about 70 or a gal that shoots about 70. The average driving distance is 242. Okay? Now that’s average. So there’s some below it, there’s some above it. 10 handicap is 230. 20 handicaps 215. 30 handicaps 200. That’s not average. 100,000 rounds average. So there’s a lot of 15 year olds, 20 year olds, 30 year olds, 40 year olds, and and 56 year olds in there. This is the overall concept for all golfers and obviously pro a majority of these golfers obvious obviously are under 50 years of age cuz all golfers this is the number fairies fairways hit accuracy if you look at this 65% 60% 55% and 40%. So the driver optimization obviously is we are working on trying to get you to get at least these numbers if you want to reach that handicap and at least this accuracy because guys if you don’t hit those numbers this accuracy you have to get better a lot better somewhere else to make up for that maybe more greens regulation maybe your short game gets better than than the average that got that handicap okay but here’s what I’m going to throw out to you guys because now I know majority of our demographic is over 50 years of age that’s a majority in fact probably 80 to 90% is over 50 years of age and we have ladies and guys both over 50 years of age. So I’ve extrapolated this out for using your correct TE’s. So right now the next slide I put up there here is the recommended tee length for the yardage on the golf course you should have for your given age. I’m pull that slide up. So here’s the slide. So if you look at it right now, if you’re less than 50, they say the T that this is when they do course ratings. They do handicaps and everything on the golf course. This is how it’s rated. They should be playing a course that’s 1,600 yards long. It could be as long as 7,100 and as short as 6,800, but on average is 1,600 yards long. That is somebody less than 50. Okay, that’s a 30-year-old, a 20-y old, a 40-y old. That’s the distance. Okay. Now, typically on a golf course, that’s not the very back TE’s. That’s usually like the tournament TE’s. That’s usually one up, but it’s the it’s getting back there. Okay. Now, the recommended by the PGA yardage for 50 to 59 years of age is 6,400 yards long plus, you know, minus 100 plus 200, but that’s the average distance. So, for most that is one T up, if not two T’s up in the golf course, depending if you have a tournament TE or not. Okay. For 60 to 69 years of age and ladies, the average distance you should be playing a golf course is 5,700 yards. That’s usually three to four T’s up for 70 and above and ladies 50 and over is 5200 yards long. So if you come to me right now, you’re a 75 year old guy, you’re sitting there saying where what distance should I be playing? What does the PGA suggest? I’m going to tell you right now, you should be playing the TE’s that are between 50 between 5100 and 5,400 yards, 5200 average. That is typically the ladies TE’s or even one up. Okay? And that’s what the PJ recommends. I mean, now I’m going to go back to that slide real quick for one second. Then you’ll notice the difference here. The difference is a 6% difference for every 10 years. So, basically what they’re doing is they’re saying they’re assuming that you’re going to lose about 6% of your distance every 10 years. Okay? That’s why this is assumed across the board. So, here’s what I did and here’s what I promise you. You guys would have never seen before cuz and I promise you haven’t seen it because I put it together for you guys. Okay, here’s the slide. Here’s the driving distance by handicap, taking age into account, 6% less for every 10 years. So, if you’re 49 and under, and these are the same numbers I just gave you. If you’re 49 and under, scratch player needs to average 242. If you want to be a 10 handicap, you got to shoot an 80. You got to average 230. You want to be a 20 handicap, you got to average 215. The numbers I just gave you. But look at this across the board. I want you guys to understand this. If you’re a 55 year old guy, okay, you to be a scratch player, you have to average 227. That’s it. And you can be a little you obviously can be way above it. That’s a huge advantage. But you can be a little bit below it because that’s an average. And there’ll be guys, so if you hit it 210, 220, you’re probably still good. You can still hit scratch. If you’re 55y old guy and you want to shoot 80, you need average 216. If you’re 20, you want to shoot 90, you got to average 202. Now let’s jump down that last line. Let’s say you’re a 75 year old guy. you’re over 70 or you’re a lady who’s 55 or and older or 50 and older. Let’s say you’re a lady that’s 60. To hit scratch golf, you’ve only got to average 198 off the te. You to be shoot an 80, you got to average 188. To be a 20 handicap and shoot 90, you got to average 176. To be a 30 handicap, to shoot 100, you got to average 164. So let So I’m going to say right now, so I’m going to do this real quick for you guys. I’m leave this leave this leave this line up for you. So right now, let’s say you’re a 64 year old guy and you want to know how far and you shoot a 90, you’re 20 handicap and you want to shoot an 80 and you play your appropriate distance. So that slide you just saw, you’re playing your appropriate distance. Okay, you’re playing the right T’s. Okay, you only have to average basically 202 yards off the tee to be able to get to a 10 handicap. That’s it. This is using appropriate TE’s. I want you guys to look at this. It’s not Don’t let TV golf lie to you. But look at the bottom on the bottom line of this thing. You still, it doesn’t matter how far you hit it, you still have to have the accuracy. So to be a scratched player, you basically got to hit three4s of the fairways almost. To be a 10 handicap, you’re you’re 60%. If not, you’re in the rough. You’re trying to get shots out of the rough. You can’t hold the greens. We have difficulty. So accuracy stays the same. Accuracy does not change because you still got to hit approach shots in the green. You got to hold the greens. You got to be able to stop. And that’s about hitting in the fairways and so on. But I want you to hyperfocus on those distances because it freaks people out saying, “I got to hit the ball 242 to be a scratch player. Never hit a ball over 175 in my life.” And you’re a 75-year-old guy, guys. All you got to do is hit a 188 and you can become a 10 handicap. Average 200, you can become a scratch player. Okay. And I know it’s going to freak a lot of you out. You’re going to go, “I can’t believe it’s that low.” These are just numbers extrapolated out. This I’m a statistician by trade. These are just numbers extrapolated out across the board using the given distance, the 6% difference and the given stats you not done by the United States Golf Teaching Foundation. All right. So, you guys can look at that slide. You can look at it again. You can kind of we’ll talk about it. I’ll put it up on newsletters and different things in the future. Come to schools. We talk about this a lot. But what we’re going to do for the rest of this tonight’s program, I know we’re about halfway through it right now, but for the rest of tonight’s program, what we’re going to do is we’re going to get in the range. We’re going to talk about some basic drills, some information, some good topics about the driver. Okay? And then at the end of the night, we’re going to have the giveaway. We’re going to have the elite driver giveaway. Okay? So, we’re going to do that, but I want to be So, right now, I’m going to break this up. I want to get out there. And guys, remember, I I cannot stress this enough. We have a program that with all the package put in there, it’s over $2,000. you saw and that that’s not that’s that is straight out information. That’s not hypothetical stuff. That’s that is straight out. You get this, you get this, you get this, you get this. The program itself, if you went and did our single plan universities in the past and you weren’t a member, cost you a,000 bucks. This program right now, if you’re a member, for the first 10 people that get in is 297 if you’re not a member. If you’re a level three member, it’s 197. If you’re a level four, level five member, it’s free. It’s a program that starts next Monday on the 11th. It’s already it’s done. It’s not we’re not we’re saying starting this thing in three months now. It’s starting now. Starting next Monday and it goes for the next 42 days. If you can’t start it in the first week, that’s fine. You can get caught up. It’s not a big deal. And I promise you, it’s all about doing what? Pull up the stat for me. Pull up that slide one more time for me if you would. It’s all about this. It’s getting you distance. It’s getting you accuracy. It’s getting you optimization. It’s optimizing your driver. I want to get you if I don’t care if you’re 60-y old lady six-y old guy or if you’re a lady in that category or if you’re late as 55 and a 79 year old guy. I don’t care. I’m going to get you I got to get you in a scratch category on that distances and I got to get you to that that distance that percentage for accuracy and I need you to be more consistent. That’s about consistency. Okay. And that’s what this is all about cuz then that is a as we said basically a third of your practice. Okay. The driver the putter the most the longest the the most often wins your bag and everything else in your bag. You have your driver working. We can go score. That’s what the driver optimization program is about. All right. So guys, thanks for joining me in here. We’re going to get outside. We’re going to talk real quick and we’re going to go over the Q&A and talk about the driver. We’ll see you out in the range. All right. Well, I want to welcome you guys back to the outdoor portion of this. I wanted to That’s why we filmed this thing a little bit early is because I wanted to make sure we get outside and answer some of you guys questions on the driver. And basically where these questions came from is they’re compiled over the last few months of when you guys have sent in questions that are specific for the driver. So, they’re perfect. Okay. And um guys remember and I I cannot stress this enough because on the way over here when the guys were sitting up in the range I was coming down from the studio on the way over here they were freaking out. The guys James in particular and the guys are freaking out of the price over the single plane university. Remember and I and I I want to stress this. All the single plane university units up to this point and possibly the ones in the future, okay, have been for $1,000 for non-members, $700 for me members for level three members. This one is 2971 197. Yes, it’s that important. We want to see how many people we can get in this program in particular. Members, okay, non-members, there’s a limit because there is this is a coaching basis. It does require coaches. Right now, I’m at my academy here in Oklahoma City. To the right over here is our big facility. Our big buildings over here to the right, our indoor studios. I I have four people in there right now analyzing videos for you guys at home. Sitting in that studio right now doing videos of you guys sent in. They’re in there right now. In fact, I was just in there with Matt and I. I was in there with Brad. They’re working on videos with you guys. Okay, that’s what we do. That’s what we do out here. Okay, so let’s go. Let’s get into this thing. So, the first question, Chris is gonna read off these questions. I’m gonna answer them out here. And guys, this is basic information. This is the basic of the basic of the basic information you’re going to get in driver optimization. I mean, this is like day one of day 42. Okay. So, go. What is it, Chris? Yeah. So, we have how far should I stand from the ball when I’m hitting my driver? I feel like I’m either crowding it or reaching. How far should you stand? And now guys, this so how far should you stand from the ball when you’re hitting your driver? Pretty simple. If you have a properly fit driver for you, for your height, for your wrist of floor measurement, so that length that driver is fit for you, which gives you now a proper potential and a proper angle of setup for the driver, it allows you to get in our single plane setup is 36 in from the driver. Okay? 36 inches from the ball to the toe line. And the best way to do that is I have my alignment and ball position trainer right here, guys. This right here is driver ball position. This we’re talking about tonight. So, this is driver ball position. Now, I have a yard stick. I’m just going to set this down on top of that mark. There’s a mark on the back. So, you can actually take and you can take the yard stick and you can hook it in that mark. Okay. You can push it right in there. Fits right in. The yard stick fits right in there. I’m going to set this down. Okay. And I use this as our template. This is now our perfect template. Okay. And what I’m going to do is I’m going to set up and I’m This is my practice. I’m gonna put a ball down. Now, I like to put a ball down about three to four inches. So, I’ll put this one right here. 3 in from the end of that yard stick. I can measure that. Okay. So, I know that’s 3 in from the end of the yard stick. So, right now it’s 3 in. So, I’m going to line up my toe line 3 in into the yard stick cuz the yard stick’s 36 in. So, right now I can take something else. I’ll just use my single plane position trainer here. I’m going to put at the 3in line. I’m going to put my toes up against it and I’m going to that ball. And that’s 36 in. And for you guys to get in here right now and just to get this distance right now, 36 inches from the ball and get used to that is huge. That is massive. Okay? Because a lot of you guys when you notice when I get 36 inches from the ball, and you can see it from down the line view here, I’ve got tons of room in here. I’ve got the room to now clear the body and get on good path. I can keep the knees flexed. I can keep the feet down. I can do what I need to do to get in a good position. If I get too close to the ball, the tra traditional traditional conventional golfer maybe 32, 31. I’ve seen guys 28 inches from the driver. It’s crazy. But you get in too close to the driver. Let’s say I’m 33 inches from the driver. If I get in too close, the only way to create the room and the speed is to now lift and try to get out of my way. That’s how we create issues in the back. So, it’s 36 in from the driver workout. Great drill. Just sit up. If you want to just take a yard stick and just put a a T on the yard stick like this. Just put the end of the yard stick like that. Now put your toes on the end of the yard stick line. So my toes lined up with the end of it right now. And just reach to that and get comfortable with that distance. You want to do that? That’s great. Now don’t hit balls from there obviously because you potentially hit the yard stick. If you want to do this inside, just set up on the end of the yard stick where the middle of the ball is. Get your toes going to the end of the yard stick and get comfortable with that distance. That is massive. Something you guys can do inside. Let’s go to the next question. Where should the ball be in my stance when I tee off with the driver? I’ve heard everything from off the front foot to in line with the heel. That’s right. Where should the ball be when in good ball position? Now, this is ball position on a normal driver. Like we’re not into the wind or downwind and so on. Just a normal driver you hit a majority of the time. The ball position should be This is perfect for a yard stick. Again, it should line up with the inside of your lead heel. Now, your lead foot will be turned out about 10°. Okay, there’s a little bit of advant people. We recommend about 10°. My trail foot’s going to get back here with the driver position on the ABT. So, it’s relatively wide stance. Now, I’m sitting up into this position. Okay? And my lead foot that lines up with the inside of the lead heel. It’s pretty simple on that, but we want to be 36 in from the inside of the lead heel. Why do we want that position? Because this ball we are trying to catch on the upswing and that’s the position we’re catching the upswing. Now we start getting a little bit downwind or into the wind. We want to start getting it up and down. We can start start adjusting tea height. We can start adjusting ball position. We can get that later. And guys, this is NASA stuff and driver optimization. But like I said, this is very basic information. I know we call driver for dummies, okay? Driving for dummies. It’s very basic information. But we want to get this where it’s just you’re just starting with this today. This is like stuff that’s on day one, day two of driver optimization, guys. It’s very simple. But to sit here, set up your template inside in your office, in your garage, in your basement, whatever it is. Get 36 inches from it, line it up with your lead heel, and just stand there in this position and get comfortable with this massive. For most of you that aren’t used to this, you’re going to feel like that’s a little bit forward. You can say that maybe a little bit forward my that’s great. And a little bit forward to my stance compared to what you normally do is going to make you hit it up in the upswing better. And that’s huge. It will also give you time to come from down the line or as you guys it’ll feel like you’re coming from the inside but coming from down the line and on plane because think about it if I was too close to the ball and was too far back in my stance it promote an over the top move every single time. That’s what we’re trying to get out of. Let’s go to the next question. Third one. How high should I tee the ball with the driver and does that ever change in different situations? How high should you tee the ball? Okay. So, when you have a driver, and I’m going to show you this here, and this is a Callaway Elite driver, but this is in typical of any new driver. Now, first of all, before I even get into this for just a second here, one of the questions I got that as I was getting down here and so on is, how often should I change my driver? Guys, driver optimization. Drivers change every two to three generations. So, you have a driver that’s more than three years old, it’s kind of outdated, and hopefully it’s kind of worn out, okay? Because you’ve hit it enough. And the reason I bring this up is because the newer drivers have bigger faces. I mean, the 46 460 cc’s, the 450cc drivers, they have bigger faces, and that’s good. They’re very forgiving. But when you hit a golf ball, you want to hit it on the upper half of the driver. So, if you look at the driver face, and most of them have this, this has got a groove right in the middle. And it’s got it’s got a mark right in the middle. We want to get hit above that. We want to catch this ball in the upper half of the driver. that because if you look at this and the way this this driver is built, look how it concaves down in the back. So all the weight and majority of the weight is down here towards the back of the driver and low of the driver. That’s what gets the weight to shoot under this golf ball when you swing up. If you hit below that, if you start hitting the middle of the face or below that, this weight goes above the ball or gets equal with it. So you lose your launch. You lose your optimal launch, which will then cost you a lot of distance. So the spot you want to hit it is you want to get in the top half of the driver. So when you tee up a golf ball, we want to get at least half of that golf ball above the top of the driver. So I tee this up right here. And you notice, and you can zoom in on this, you can kind of get a good view of this. When I tee up on this, okay, right now half of that golf ball is above the top of that driver. And that’s the key. Now guys, if you want to get up and you want to get in a good position and put the club right up against it to check that, then set it back behind it like we do in single plane, that’s fine. But I want to at least get half the ball above it. Now, if you start hitting downwind and you want to launch it a little bit higher, you can tee it up a little bit more. You know, tee it high and let it fly as they say. So, we can go another, you know, quarter inch up a little bit. So, maybe maybe get a little bit more of the ball above the top. I would never get the whole ball above the top, but maybe a little bit more. If you’re hitting into the wind and you want to keep it down a little bit, we just te a little bit lower. So, we bring it up. We te it a little bit lower. Now notice on this one, the ball still has a little bit above the top edge of the driver, but it’s but a majority is below the top edge of the driver, guys. We’ll experiment that. We’ll talk a lot about a lot more about this in driver optimization. Trust me, a lot more about spinning the ball, launch angles, and so on. I mean, to optimize it for you. But on this right now, on 90% of the time or a majority of the time, we want to get at least half of the ball above the top edge of the driver. reason is is we want to make impact in the top upper end of that upper part of that driver the top half of it. That’s how we get maximum distance on these drivers. Let’s go to the next question. All right, next one. I think this will be in the SPU course, which is perfect. How important is launch angle? Oh, and what’s a good one for someone like me also? What changes it? Is it just swing or does the ball tee height matter too? Okay, launch angle is optimal distance. It gives you, this is what launch angle does. The biggest thing about launch angle is it gives you maximum roll, maximum fly and maximum roll. So let’s say right now you had an ideal launch angle, okay? And which is for most people, for everybody, it’s around 20°. We say between 18 to 22 degrees is ideal. And you can kind of you can theoretically look at this. Pretend if you hit one and you topped it on the ground, that’s obviously a zero launch angle. Straight up in the air is 90°. Okay? So this is straight up would be 90 from where you are. On the ground is zero. So, I want you to take right now and go halfway. So, look straight up, look on the ground, and go halfway. Okay, that is 45°. Okay, now go another half of that. So, we’re going to go to the ground. Okay, that is 20°. So, right now it’s 20 to 22 degrees. So, right now, see where that points? So, now you can do it from the ground if you want. If you want to get in the ground and do it, if you stand up, it’s good enough. So, this is 90. This is zero. We go to 45 halfway. We come back down to half, which is 22. Now, where does that point? So, right now, when I look in the in the off in the horizon, I see trees in the background of this range. That right there would be about a five degree launch angle. So, now I’ve got to basically go four times above that and I can get a spot in the cloud in the sky. Now, today it’s a bright, beautiful day. If I’m normally hitting golf balls and I’m out there, I can look up and I can see clouds up in the sky. I can look and see how much higher I want to hit above that tree. That’s a launch angle. But ideal launch angle is 20°. And guys, here’s one of the variables of it. Launch angle has to do with tea height. Has to do with ball position. Okay, everybody should have that launch angle. Now, it may be higher. It may be shorter for some and longer for others, but you’re still trying to hit that window. Okay? Has to deal with speed is how far you hit it and how much it spins. Has to do with tea height. Has to do with ball position. And we’re going to cover we’re going to cover that extensively in driver optimization. So you can get maximum optimal maximum optimal launch angle which gives you maximum optimal flying roll. Remember if you hit it too high it will get minimal roll. You hit it too low it get minimal fly. We want to put both those together. Okay so that’s what it is. It’s about 20°. Let’s go to the next question. What’s the number one mistake you see single plane golfers make with driver besides set up? I keep hearing tight hips. The biggest mistake we see with with single plane golfers is the movement of the hips. Okay. And what I see is, and notice some here, and this is the big one, is when you guys set up over a driver, okay, we set up. When you get over an iron, you’re in this position. Let’s say I’m in I’m an iron right now. So, ball positions back here. So, I’m I’ll show you guys this. Okay? So, let’s get over just a um let’s get in fact, I’m going to pull this out. I’m going to go over just let’s go over a regular iron. So, I’m gonna go over an iron here. Pull it out. Okay. So, here’s an iron. This is just a normal nine iron. So, here’s a nine iron. I set up over it. Okay. So, now I’m in a good nine iron ball position. I set up. I’m ready to hit this ball. Now notice here’s my hips. Okay, so I set up nine iron and my hips are decent. They’re pretty square and down the line. They’re pretty decent. Well, now I take this and I go to a driver. So I set up and I’m and the ball position now is in the front of my hip. I get my hands more forward and instinctively when I get here, my hips get open and my shoulders get open. So, the number one thing we see with with especially with our demographic is when golfers are setting up over a driver, their hips are not set up properly. And when their hips aren’t set up properly, the two biggest things we see is they’re typically open, which causes shoulders to be open at setup. And there’s no tilt to it because so you lose that tilt. And when you lose the tilt in your hips, you lose the tilt in your shoulders, the proper setup, which which now kills the launch angle, kills the path, and everything else. Okay? So, the number one error we see when we see go golfers set up over a driver, single plane golfers, is it’s the issue with their hips. And we’re going to get into I think one of the next questions about drills. But you’ve got to when you get in your setup, you’ve got to focus on getting those hips square. I would rather air them closed slightly than open at all. Because if they get open at setup and you take it back, you’re just getting your hips back to square. You just get them to square in the takeaway, you’re going to come over every single time. We’ve got to get those hips turned back properly, which allows those shoulders to turn properly, which allows us to get back to impact. So, the number one error we see when you sit up over a driver in when in the setup is a hip issue, which causes a shoulder issue at setup. And you guys will call it like shoulder tilt, you’ll call, but guys, it’s hips being open. It’s because our demographic deals so so much with the hips. Now, this is driver optimization. How do you check those hips? How do you make sure they’re in the right spot? How do you get flexibility to move those hips properly? How do you make sure you take them the right position going back? What is the right position at the top of the swing? What is the right position the hips in the down swing? How do they relate to the shoulders? How do hips and shoulders create distance, guys? Hips and shoulders are your distance, guys. Moving your hips and shoulders properly, if you do not move them properly, you’re going to cost yourself 25, 30, 40% of the distance. It is massive. And it’s not moving them a lot. Notice what I said. It’s not moving them a lot. It’s moving them properly. Okay? And it would I’m not going to give you guys any justice here giving you all the different positions because it’s not. This is we’re going to train this day by day by day by day because here’s the deal. You don’t have proper ball position, you’re going to mess up the hips. The number one thing guys do is they try to work on the hips and they mess up the ball position because they put the ball too far back and now all of a sudden they got bad ball position, bad launch angle, which kills their distance, but they’re working on their hips. You got to put this together. And that’s why we build programs like driver optimization. It gives you what to do in day one, what to do in day two, what to do in day three, what to do day and four, what to do in day five, what to do in day six. It’s amazing, guys. And that’s what we’ve got to do on this. That’s why we come up with single plane university programs. Okay. But the number one issue again is hips. Got the next question? Yeah, this one you can probably take any number of directions. Got any drills that will help with getting better results off the tee? Yeah, so drills. And I’ll give you guys a couple drills. There any questions after that or just kind of kind of the end of the night? Okay, guys. Here’s the deal. Let me give you a couple drills to work on at home. Number one, you saw the one we talked about. You’ve got to get comfortable with that distance. Whether you just sit here and stand here and work on that position, you got to get comfortable with distance to the ball. Number one. Number two, you got to get comfortable with ball position. If you don’t have the correct ball position, you have the correct distance, this is all for not. Okay, this is all this is all for not. Okay, here’s number three is I always tell this story and I I’ve told it before. I’m going tell you guys it again. One time Todd and I were down in Florida working with Mo. We went somewhere Titusville over at Royal Oaks and we’re working with Mo and we got to the range. It was pretty early in the morning and we were working on the driver and Mo said, “You guys need to work on the bump drill. You need to work on the bump drill.” Okay? And so what he did in this, that’s what Mo called it. He set us up in a good position. Okay? We didn’t have the all these aids like we do now, but we got the right distance from the ball. We got in a good position. Then all we did is we set up and all we did was take it back to waist high. We took the club back to waist high. The club follows the shoulders. It doesn’t come inside. So basically hit position one, position 1.5. Now we bumped it off the tea and we held our finish. So we set up, we got up, we took it to waist high, we bumped it off the tee, and we held our finish. And notice I held my finish. My knees flexed, my feet are down, my lead knees flex towards my lead toe, my trail knees flex towards my lead toe. The club is pointing down my target line is fully released over. And this is all we did. So, we sat here and we just did a bump drill. We set up over it. We got in a good position and set up. We took it back to waist high. We bumped it off the tea and that’s it. And we got in the position we felt with position 1.5 as we call it to position basically just past position five. We just went bumped off the tee. We did this for hours. We did it again and again and again. So much so I actually got tired. I went inside, got some meat, I went and put it for a while, came back out, and Todd was still doing the bump drill with Mo like five hours later. It was It was unbelievable. We basically did this most of a day. But we did this to get a feeling of what it feels like to pass through impact, keep the feet down, the knees flexed, and get past through release down the line. Because here’s the deal. This is the entire golf swing right here. Everything past this position just creates speed. and everything past this position just releases speed. Okay, it’s a very hard drill to do. Now, it’s very simple drill. It seems simple. It seems easy, but I promise you, you’ll be four or five balls into and you want to rip one. You need to do this again and again and again. Guys, this is why we do a 42day program driver optimization because we talk about every individual one of those points. What is a driver supposed to look like here? What’s supposed to look like here? What’s your knee supposed to feel like? What’s your feet supposed to feel like? What’s your hip supposed to do? That’s that’s huge. Okay, that is massive. Here’s the next thing to add on top of that. Okay, and I’m going to throw this on to you right now. And this will be the last one I end it with. Take your single plane position trainer. Okay, take it. Take the back end of it. Take it off. Put it through your belt loops. So, wear something that’s got belt loops. Look at it and make sure it’s even with your hips. That’s even with my hips. I know some belt loops don’t line up quite properly. Make sure it’s that’s square with my hips. Now, set up over in a good position. Make sure this is down the line. It’s not open. Now, as you go here, watch this start to go back. In fact, this should start to go back and almost when you get to position 1.5, it’s almost to the golf ball. Notice if this is open to start and I take it back, when I got to 15, it just got to level. That’s an improper hit movement. That’s going to get you over the top every single time. This is driver optimization course. This is like 0.1% of the course. This is what we’re talking about. This is massive. This is what we’re talking about in this course. This is how you check those hips because if you’re not getting those hips moving right, those shoulders aren’t moving right. Those shoulders aren’t moving right. This club isn’t moving right. This club isn’t moving right. You cannot not You can now you’ll miss fairways. You’ll lock distance. You’ll have those issues. And just like I talked about earlier, it’s not that hard to hit that distance. You got a good nice new driver. You got one that’s launches hard. It launches far. You get good optimization. You get good decent path on it. You can get accuracy. You can get consistency. And I promise you for your age, you can get scratch distance. It’s not that hard. But you got to optimize this. Okay? That’s what this is all about. So, get up over it. Put something in your hips. When you set up, make sure those hips are square. And there’ll be a slight tilt to them. Make sure they’re square. As you start turning back, make sure the hips are going back with you. Make sure you start marking these spots. you make impact and go through. Watch how the hips go. In fact, the hips get ahead of the shoulders. Okay? Watch how the hips work. Focus on those hips. It’s a great drill. All right, I think that’s probably time for tonight. Is that time, guys? And again, I want to reinforce this and I really, really, really want to state this. We’re going to have the giveaway here in a second. I really, really, really want to state this. I cannot state it enough. This is such a small part. That’s why we call this program. I know it’s kind of silly, but we call this Driver for Dummies. We call this driver for dummies tonight because this was the the small little bitty portion of the driver optimization course. Okay, that thing is what I just did tonight on steroids and it’s day step one, step two, step three, step four, step five and it’s repeatable. Guys, you have a 15-minute thing to do today on step five of the driver optimization course. You can do it 10 times if you want. You can do it once if you want. It’s up to you. You want to do that that 10 minutes for 10 times, great. It’s up to you. But that’s what this is all about. It chunks it out and gets you and I promise you it’s it’s actually guarantee you will be significantly different. You’ll be consently significantly better. You will be have more consistency and I promise you you’ll be hitting it longer guys. A better path off the center of the club face is going to get you longer. And you saw it’s not that hard to get to even a scratch distance for your age. It’s not that hard. But you got to do it consistently. You can’t do it one time then miss it five times in one time. That’s got to be consistent. And you still need to be hitting 65 to 70% of those fairways out there. So you got to be accurate. Okay? And that’s the whole key to that. So you saw that special. I want to reinforce that. Chris is saying to be on the camera right now. He’s back here. I want to reinforce this. It’s no joke. You saw over $2,000 package. It’s delivered to you. Boom. The day you sign up for it, it’s delivered. Okay. This starts next Monday. Even if you get in a couple days late, you can catch up. It’s not a big deal. It’s 42-day program. Every single day. We charge you out on this thing. It’s very simple. You get it downloaded to you every single morning. You get a new unit sent to you. Just like going to class. It’s like, that’s why we call it single plan university. It’s like going to class every single day. You walk in, go to class, go for a few minutes, you come out, go in. You miss a few classes, just make them up. Not a big deal. Okay. We’re working with the coaches. We’re doing Zoom sessions if you choose. We’re working with the coaches if you choose. If you want to optimize this program to the max, use the coaches like like we want you to. So, you’re sending in videos to our coaches here. No big deal. Send in videos from your house, from your bedroom, from your from from your garage, from wherever. You’re sending in videos of you what? Doing drills. Okay, it’s you can do whatever you want to do. Okay, so you send in those drills, you send them into us. Okay, guys. I have a lot of guys that’ll sit there and have a station set up in their house and they’re doing these drills. That’s perfect. Send in videos. Okay, send in those videos. We’ll work with you guys on the scale and the way this is set up. Okay, so guys, I want to thank you for being with me tonight. I’m going to go back up in the studio. We’re going to announce the winner of this um tonight. If you have any questions, you want to get in this program, let us know. We’ll talk we’ll talk to you guys real soon. All right. Well, well, welcome back to the room real quick, guys. I hope you enjoyed the range. I hope you enjoyed being out there with us. Um, I’m back in the room real quick cuz I I needed to do this in the room. It was much easier. And I’m I can’t I’m going to announce that I’m You look at the slide right now. I don’t have a name on this as I do cuz I’ve shot this a couple days in advance. But this is the giveaway winner for the Elite Driver. Okay. I wanted to make sure that everybody that registered last minute had a chance to get into this. I didn’t I couldn’t do this two days early and I’m filming this a couple days early. Okay, so guys, look at the slide rule right now. I want to congratulate the winner of this elite driver. We’ll contact you here real shortly and we’ll get you that driver. We’ll get it built for you for length lang shaft flex and so on. But also remember and I want you guys to remember the announcements again on this. Please, please, please um I want you to remember this. If you got get into school, get in now. There’s a special on the school. The fall is going to fill up. You saw them. Orlando, Vegas, Phoenix, um Palm Desert. We got those going on. Um that trade in tradeup special. Do it now. Do it now. Do it now. Double bonus special. Double bonus special. Single plane university. And we got the single plane university special. You’ve seen that. The driver optimization. We talked about that all night. Okay. And then the single plane shootout October 15th and 16th. Don’t miss your chance. I know we cover a lot of information in these programs. If you need anything, you can always email me at timgragolf.com. timggragolf.com. and I promise you I’ll get to the right person or I’ll take care of it myself. Okay, but get into the program.
