CLEAR FORK   The Logan High School golf team finished in second place in a tri-match Wednesday afternoon at the Clear Fork Valley Golf Course.

The Wildcats carded a team total of 191 and four shots off the pace of Mingo Central, who won the tri-match after shooting a team score of 187. Tug Valley finished third with a score of 200.

Alton Ellis led all Logan golfers with an individual score or 43. Kevin Farmer followed with a 48 while Crew Blankenship carded a 49 and Chase Butcher shot a 51. Rounding out the Wildcats finishers were Mason Engle with a 55 and Carter Frye with a 57.

Mingo Central’s Devin Maynard earned medalist honors with a low-round of 38. Maynard, who qualified for the state tournament as an individual at Logan, was two shots better than his teammate Elijah May, who carded a 40.

Ellis was third overall while Mingo Central’s Dawson Moore placed fourth with a score of 44 and Tug Valley’s Chandler Copley carded a 45 to round out the top five.

Tug Valley’s Noah Canterbury shot 47 to finish sixth. Farmer’s 48 was good for seventh with Blankenship and Tug Valley’s Caleb Price each carding a 49 to share eighth place and Butcher’s 51 rounded out the top 10.
