This is a warm up / speed training ring
.
It weighs quite a bit more than other similar ones that I have tried coming in at 200 gram (that’s almost like swinging with an extra head on the existing head)
.
It works better than others as it clips over the shaft rather than having to slide on like some of the complete rings out there
.
It also comes with a protective rubber case to prevent damaging the shaft
.
Arguably you probably shouldn’t swing with this on a driver as because it is so heavy it could risk damaging the shaft
.
I think using it on a steel shaft is fine and it is more of a warm up product than anything and mainly designed to be used before you tee off
.
It can however help with rhythm and timing if you did decide to use it for hitting balls with as if you too quick through the transition or try hitting it too hard then you’ll struggle to make properly contact

Soooo… what does it do besides add more club head weight?
Surprised you didn’t break the shaft. It’s just a practice swing weight. Just like what they use for baseball bats when they warm up before batting, then take them off before going up to bat.
YOUUUUU
