    For me, England is the real winner🏆 they played with just 10 players and still managed to chase 98% of a huge target. If, instead of England, an Indian bowler had gotten injured mid-match, India would've lost by an innings. Even now, India was actually losing this match — they just ended up winning a lost game.

    If Chris hadn’t gotten injured, England would’ve won easily. They had already won, basically it’s just that the injury was so bad he couldn’t play any shots😢

    I assume he was in a position where he couldn't be replaced, and if he didn't go in with the sling the team would have had to forfeit the game? Seems heroic and I love the stories behind the sports, and my brain is on overload with our American sports, the two types of Rugby I am trying to learn, so a high level answer if I am close to being accurate if anyone can take the time… 🙏

    I must say Chris Woaked is the most courageous man to ever walk on the cricket field with his broken arm like a hero. Humanity will remember him forever for his courage and determination for the love he has for this game. All hail Woaksy!

    I wonder how this looked to the rest of the sporting world.? Not saying this situation can be avoided but Woakes' and Pant's cases would not have happened if teams were allowed to make one substitution for whatever reason at the conclusion of the first innings from an initial squad of 12-14 players. Fast bowlers, whose time does genuinely have to be managed, might break down a little less frequently and their careers last longer. Whatever one thinks about replacements in cricket for whatever reasons there are genuine health and safety concerns here. Under law Chris Woakes is just as liable as the England team or management for his own safety at work.
