ALEXANDRIA

— Stacy Faith and Betsy Aldrich, the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in the Women’s Executive division in the 104th Resorters Tournament, earned close wins in different ways in Thursday’s quarterfinal round at the Alexandria Golf Club.

Faith held off a comeback, while Aldrich had to make a comeback to win her match on Aug. 7, 2025.

Rounding out the semifinalists for the Women’s Executive division are the No. 12 seed Heidi Beckendorf and the No. 6 seed Amanda Woodhull.

Faith def. Baker, 1-up

The No. 8 seed Molly Baker didn’t go down without a fight. Faith birdied hole No. 3 to take a 1-up lead, but Baker won the next hole to tie the match.

Faith built a big lead by winning hole No. 8 with a par, hole No. 10 with a par, hole No. 12 with a birdie, and hole No. 14 with a bogey.

Baker then won the next three holes with back-to-back pars and a bogey to cut Faith’s lead to one.

Faith and Baker both bogeyed hole No. 18, giving Faith a win 1-up.

Beckendorf def. Tessmer-Jones, 6-5

Starting with hole No. 3, Beckendorf won five out of six holes to take a 5-up lead heading to the back nine over the No. 4 seed Karla Tessmer-Jones.

Beckendorf won holes No. 3, 4, 6, 8, and 9 with pars.

A bogey on hole No. 11 gave her a 6-up lead, and while Tessmer-Jones won hole No. 13 with a par, Beckendorf parred hole No. 14 to win the match, 6-5.

Aldrich def. O’Donnell, 19 holes 

In a battle of past Resorters Women’s Executive champions, the No. 7 seed Amanda O’Donnell jumped out to a 3-hole lead with a par on hole No. 3, a birdie on hole No. 6, and a par on hole No. 7.

Aldrich, a 5-time Resorters Women’s Executive champion and the runner-up in the last two Resorters Tournaments, chipped away at her deficit by winning hole No. 8 with a par and hole No. 9 with a birdie.

O’Donnell pushed her lead back up to 2-up with a par on hole No. 13.

Aldrich tied the match with a birdie on hole No. 16 and a par on hole No. 17. Aldrich and O’Donnell parred hole No. 18, forcing the match to go to extra holes.

Aldrich won the match on the 19th hole.

Woodhull def. Peters, 2-1

Karna Peters and Amanda Woodhull played each other about as evenly as they could in Thursday’s quarterfinal round.

Woodhull won hole No. 4 with a par, but Peters answered with a par on hole No. 5 to tie the match.

Woodhull won hole No. 10 with a bogey, but a birdie by Peters on hole No. 11 tied the match again.

A par on hole No. 13 gave Woodhull a 1-up lead. Woodhull sealed her spot in the semifinals with a par on hole No. 17, winning her quarterfinal match, 2-1.
