Scottie Scheffler recently delivered one of the funniest golf moments of the year—when he screamed at his ball on the putting surface, straight out of Happy Gilmore. The World No. 1’s reaction at the Scottish Open went viral, echoing Happy’s famous line: “Son of a b**h ball, why didn’t you just go home?”*—just with a bit more composure.

But that wasn’t all: Scheffler also appears in Happy Gilmore 2, reprising the movie’s golf legacy alongside a who’s who of Tour stars. He spoke candidly about film life, praising Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler, and Will Zalatoris for standout performances. “I laughed hardest at Xander’s lines—he did an amazing job,” he told Pardon My Take podcast.

We’re just going down the road. Uh Scotty, going back to Happy Gilmore 2, just what’s the feedback been like for you from the people around you since you know they got a chance to watch it and, you know, see your appearance in there? And then also, could you see yourself in a Happy Gilmore 3? Well, it took him what, 30 years to make Happy Gilmore 2. So, if they go another 30 years for Happy Gilmore 3, I don’t think I’ll be I’ll be a part of it. Um, no. I mean, I I thought being able to film the movie was really fun. They got a great turnout from current players and past players and I think it’s just because that first movie was so iconic and Adam Sandler is such an iconic actor and uh a guy that it was a real treat to be able to work with and um I had a ton ton of fun being able to film it. The reviews for the movie so far have been great. Um I I really enjoyed watching it. I thought um I thought they did a great job with the script and the the golfers did a great job acting. I mean, Willis, his role cracked me up. uh the dinner scene. There are so many so many good oneliners in it and I mean they they had a lot of fun filming it. I’m really glad it it turned out the way it did on the on the big screen and you know I just thought they did a great job. Get a microphone up here at the front. Tim Buckley. Morning Scotty. Um what do you like most about the renovation? Anything you’d still like to be see tweaked going forward? And how helpful is having that chip in area now? Um, you know, they did a good job, I think, with the runoff areas uh around the greens here. The green, the new greens right now are really firm. Um, I I think this is a golf course that’s typically been pretty popular on tour. So, I appreciated that they didn’t come in when they renovated it and just completely changed the golf course. I think they had, you know, a really good base for a solid golf course where ball striking is important. You got to hit well around this place. And, um, I think they did a really good job. Golf course is healthy. They kept the, you know, the DNA of what this made this golf course really good and then enhanced it with some of the pitching areas. And right now with how the firm the greens are, I mean, you got to get the ball in the fairway if you’re going to want to score.
