Welcome back to the Travel Series Mountain Edition. We’ve got three of the most iconic courses in Canada on the roster. Each round, Big Country gets nine strokes, starting him at nine under and JR at even par. Get ready for some of the most insane views you’ll ever see on the golf course. Like, follow, subscribe. [Music] To top off this Mountain Edition series, we thought it would be fun to tell James we were taking him to Radium course. When in fact, we’re taking him to one of the highest rated courses in Canada, Greywolf. Is Rad Does a Radium look like the views you’re seeing outside the car or how would you rate the course? They had a ton of issues with their greens. I think that they lost like 14 greens over the winter and um yeah, they had Pretty nice course, but 18 they had two putts spray painted on the fairway and that was their green. So, not the best way to finish. You said Radium Springs and that’s supposed to be like a really nice course. I was pretty excited. Then you said no radium course. I said I think we’re going to Greywolf and I’m [ __ ] excited. I [ __ ] knew right away you missed the turn. I’m really excited. This is on my list. This is like my bucket list for Canada here. That’s confirmed. Is that where we’re going? Yeah, that’s where we’re going. Yeah. [ __ ] yeah. I might [ __ ] cry. I was so worried when you were saying radium, man. Cuz that that’s a [ __ ] like I don’t know. Oh, [ __ ] [ __ ] me. I am [ __ ] You said 28 minutes is what the [ __ ] 15 minutes from your [ __ ] [ __ ] liar. [ __ ] Awesome. [ __ ] me. I am so excited, dude. We held this from you for like two [ __ ] weeks. Oh, [ __ ] [ __ ] you, too, Brett. [ __ ] I’m not crying. [ __ ] you. Remember when we were driving driving in your car speed so fast it felt like I was wrong. City night out before your arms nice around my shoulder. And I had a feeling that I belong. I had a feeling I could be someone. [Music] The awards Greywolf has won when we first opened were best new Canadian golf course from Golf Digest and we also were ranked in the top 100 golf courses outside the US when we first opened. Uh more recently we were ranked number 19 by score in uh top golf courses in Canada and number eight public course in Canada in 2023. The vision behind the course was to make a true authentic mountain golf course that blends seamlessly with the landscape. The Greywolf experience a golfer should expect is a true authentic mountain experience. The golf course is carved seamlessly into the landscape. There’ll be uneven lies. There’ll be huge elevation changes, uh tiered greens rolling from back to front. The air is a little different cuz we’re 3,700 ft above sea level. So club selection is important. We have six different tea boxes, so we can accommodate all different golfing abilities and ages, which is something we’re proud of. It is quite challenging. Let’s go. Round one. This is now our second trip and we got some special courses. We are in Panorama, BC today for episode one here at Greywolf. James got a little surprise as you guys have seen. So, um kind of kept it from him for the last two weeks and uh we couldn’t be more happy. This is eighth ranked public golf course in Canada. So, this is a special one. And uh this series is going to be done a little different. Same thing. Five or three courses, five rounds. Greywolf, Eagle Ranch, and we’re finish off in my favorite course in the world, Silver Tip. But different. Instead of giving James 45 strokes through the whole series, we’re going to play five matches where I still got to give him nine strokes every match. Stroke play. Whoever wins it, best of five series. How do you think this is going to go? Mountain golf is definitely more tough than uh this is where I shine. This is where he shines. But uh you know, views are great and uh I’ve been wanting to play this course for like three, four years. And uh they definitely you you guys definitely duped me there. So I’m pretty excited. Uh wind’s picking up. So let’s just try to keep the first T- ball in play. And uh breakfast balls, no range. Got two. Let’s get at it. Hopefully I can get off an early lead this time. Do not do not top the first T-ot here. Why not? Cuz it would actually be a cool memory for you. Yeah. Oh, I remember topping my first T-shot at the one course I really wanted to play. Play here for years and years and years. So, I’m pretty excited. Uh, first T-shot, one back from the tips. If you read the uh if you read the sign 18 to 26 should be at the Golds, which is all the way up there. Um, but yeah, I’m back here. So, let’s just try to hit something semi straight. Trouble left, trouble right, for sure. I couldn’t have called that any better. You want your breakfast ball now or do you want to I’ll get one. Go ahead. Okay, I’ll go. Couldn’t have called that any better. Good thing we got breakfast balls. Um, now hopefully I just don’t do that. Lot of room out there. Kind of just aim at the bunker on the right. It’s like 260 out into the wind. Try to hit a cut off that. Me myself got nothing to prove. Damn, that thing just sails. Right down the middle is good to start the day off, James. Better than a top. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Nice ball, Josh. Thanks. So, just so everybody knows, I quit my first round because I topped it. I am starting a fresh round now. And I’m hoping to make it to the fairway here. That a boy. There you go. That’s money. Middle of the fairway. No one No one’s ever going to see the first one on YouTube, right? Of course. Yeah. This was my This is my top bucket course for this side of Canada. What a view. Oh my god. Yeah, this is nice. E, I probably should have hit it a little harder. [Music] Stay there. Stop. Stop. I don’t remember it looking that nice. That’s Is that a walking trail? Uh, it’s an old logging trail. Loser has to hike that. No. Why? You got a bad knee, Josh. You’re probably not going to make it to the fairway. I think I will. Yeah. Not a great drive, but nice horse. Oh, good caddy call. That would have cleared the bunkers. That would have cleared the bunkers. No, not even close. Okay, well I can keep going. So I know you’re still past me. So try to get it up around the green and save a boge here. Just get over that bunker or run up there. Run up there. Go. Ah, not bad. Yeah, I am like Yeah. nervous. It’s I’m just so excited. I don’t know what else to say. 99 uphill. I think we’re actually into the wind. I think it’s just swirling, but it feels down now. Um, this is going to be like a 3/4 sandwich for me. A little 54 wide. Come off that slope. Come off that slope, dude. The yardages right now are way off. Oh, waterfall, man. Why do we live in Manitoba? Heads up, boys. Oh, that should be good. It’s a great shot. That was so slow. It’s good double pot, Josh. Oh, I was happy with that. That first putt was real shitty. That worked out. I just I’m in awe over that. So, I haven’t been hitting it very well, but course is beautiful. So, I’m just going to roll with that and try to keep vibes high and hopefully Josh has a meltdown. It’s not going to happen. Enjoy the day, boys. Not going to happen. I heard this hole is absolutely terrifying. Shut up. 500 yd uphill. Bunkers everywhere. Three tier green coming up. Stu told us. I don’t think James cares, but I don’t really care at this point, Josh. I know, but you didn’t hear Stu talk about it. No, I don’t really You’re going to hear Stu talk about it on the front nine. The hardest hole would be the par five third hole. It’s actually our hardest rated hole. Also, there is a creek that runs all the way down the left hand side and also separates the tea boxes from the fairway. So, there’s a carry to the fairway to begin with. And then from the fairway, we’re uphill the entire way for the next 300 or so yards. James is just happy to be in this scenic beauty. Doesn’t matter how hard it is. Smile. Catch something. [Music] [Music] Makes me feel like I can hit the ball. That That was cool. Thank you. That was cool. Mr. Long for hard right. We still got 240 to the green. I just got a seven iron. Just going to try to literally just almost chip this out of here. Aim at the 100 marker. If you choose to lay up to about 100 yards on your second shot, there’s three uh huge bunkers running across the fairway from the right hand side. So placement is important. bunker. Ah, I better take a picture cuz Sam’s going to be wondering what it looks like here. So, she doesn’t know you’re here yet. No, I called her. You did? I said, “Yeah, Josh, that [ __ ] prick.” So, as you guys saw, Josh said we were going to go to Radium. I played it last year. It was a fun course, but not the best conditions. So, um, everybody tricked me. Brett, too. So, I’m super excited. I’ve wanted to play here for so long and I don’t know if you can tell but I am nervous and jittery and whatnot. So, uh, but yeah, let’s go. Fairway hit first time. Let’s go. Uh, yeah, I am not going for it. I’m like 242. 232 out. I don’t know what this 42. That’s not a three. It’s a four. 242. Oh, well then I could go do Oh, go. Oh no. Stay short of it. Stay short of it. Be a little left to the flag. I hopefully it’s on the right tier. That’s all I can hope for. Once you’re on the tiered green, it uh slopes from back to front across a couple of tiers. So, actually getting your ball onto the right tier of the green is also extremely important. Apparently, this green is tiered. So, hopefully I end up on one of the tiers. Oh [ __ ] Being a club and now I’m in the sand. [ __ ] me. All right. Might want to bring a couple clubs with you. Like I I don’t even know what to say. No, this this whole course I do not care if I shoot 55 here on nine. It is just so absolutely beautiful and stunning. I I don’t even know what to say, man. Like, I am so blown away. Pretty incredible golf course. Beautiful. That’s you right there, James. 122. Oh, get in the sand. Wrong club. 390 drive. Okay, got 71 to the flag. Think it looks like being right at the flag should be better. This is a tough shot ball. Like I’m down slope. Ball’s above my feet. Got to put some something nice on it. It’s almost got to nip it.
