County Durham’s Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa has enlisted the services of The Loop to help support its PR and communications, and elevate its position as the ‘North East’s No.1 Golf Resort’.
Effective from September 1, the PR and Marcomms agency will help amplify the story of the resort’s growing range of on and off-course facilities.
John Adamson, Managing Director of Ramside Estates, the family-owned hospitality business that owns Ramside Hall, said: “This is an exciting time for the resort as we continue to evolve to cater for the demands of the game, with greater levels of diversity. Our multi-million pound investment is intended to raise the bar once again at Ramside Hall and offer a unique experience for all our visitors, both established players and those who are new to the game.
“The Loop’s passion for golf is obvious, but they also have a deep understanding of how the demands of customers and golfers are changing and the need to offer more than the traditional golf package, as well as expert knowledge of UK courses. We provide a new contemporary version of golfing hospitality, combining entertainment with first-class facilities that will ensure an excellent experience for all.
“The Loop will be key in helping us tell our story and connect with new markets across a diverse range of golfers in not just the UK, but also Europe.”
The 8th hole at Ramside Hall’s Prince Bishop’s course
Ramside Hall is home to two highly-rated 18-hole golf courses – the Cathedral and Prince Bishop’s. Both layouts were designed by Jonathan Gaunt, with the Prince Bishop’s opening for play in 1996 and the Cathedral in 2014. Upgrades are currently underway to enhance the Cathedral course and the experience for members and guests, with work set to be completed in 2026.
To complement the two courses, the significant investment in developing facilities will see a new state-of-the-art golf academy and fun-packed entertainment hub due to open in the autumn.

The new range will feature Toptracer technology and PowerTees in every bay
The ambitious project includes a 43-bay Toptracer driving range, a six-lane bowling alley, The Pin Sports Bar with interactive electronic games such as darts and shuffleboards, pool tables and large, curved TV screens, which will show major sports events.
A new short-game practice area and space for coaching will complete the golf upgrades, making it an enjoyable facility for players of all abilities. There will also be a new retail outlet and a 120-seater function room.
Alex Narey, Partner at The Loop, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our agency to work with a venue that has truly embraced making the sport accessible and fun for all, which is something The Loop team is extremely passionate about.
“The staff at Ramside Hall have a vision to make it the best golf venue in the North East, and with two superb 18-hole golf courses already in play and a myriad of facilities close to completion that will enhance any stay here, we believe the project is perfectly befitting of that title.”
