PGA Playoffs: Who’s In the Ryder Cup?

[Music] That’s what pressure looks like. Two of those guys, Rory Maroy and Scotty Sheffler, already have their pass to the RDER Cup. They already qualify. Let’s talk about the rest of the field. But before we do that, let’s talk about Cameron’s young Winham championship performance. Yesterday was his first PGA Tour win. He’s a PGA Tour champion now after 94 starts. Yes, you heard that right. 94 attempts. I don’t know how many top five, top 10, top 20, but 94 starts. Let’s take a look at this final putt at the 18 power four. He missed that putt by a hair. Oh my god, he missed it by a hair. But he was able to come back, finish it with a par and locking in his first PGA Tour victory. Wow. He’s a PGA Tour champion now. But now, let’s take a look at his scorecard real quick. On his first round, he shot a 63, 62, 65, and 68 on the last round with a 22 under par. He won by six strokes. On second play with second place was uh Mesner with 16 under. And then Alex Noran with 15 under as well. Alex Noran, he’s been pushing hard this couple tournaments. I want to say he’s been on the top 10 a couple times. Um which is pretty good for him. I think he will be able to come back on on next season 2026. And I’m pretty sure next year he’ll he’ll win a tournament. Uh you got Hubberk, uh Aaron Ry, he was the defending champion. Matt Fitzpatrick end up on eighth. JT Pon, Joel Damon finished T15. He was not able to make it push the run to be in the top 70. So he will have to fight for his 2026 card. But now after this win by Cameron Yan, it shakes up a little bit the top 70. So let’s take a look here real quick. So we have Scotty Sheffler on first place with four wins. He got the Byron Nelson, the Open, the Memorial, and then the PGA champion. So these four tournaments uh that was Scotty Sheffield this year. And then we got Scotty Rory Mroy in second place. Sega Rosa Henley JT on fifth. Ben Griffin on six, Harris English, JJ Spawn, Fleetwood, Bradley, Maverick McNeely, Novak, Cody Connors, Ludic Alberg, Shane Li. I’m going to I’m not going to read all of them, but just so you can take a look at the top 70. Morawa. So, all these guys are on the playoffs. Let’s take a look. Taylor Pendr, uh, Denny McCarthy, Sander Schoffley 42. Oh, he he was not able to win this year. Matt Fitzpatrick either. Uh, Aldridge Poter, he got his first wing PGA win this year as well. Uh, let’s take a look. Minu Lee on 50, JTO, Tony Fina on 60, Ricky Fowler on 64. So he will be part of the PGA playoffs. Uh Eric Van Ruan, Cam Davis, and Maddie Smith. It’s funny because Matty Smith, he was able to make birdies on the last three holes. that w that was the the give that gave him the edge to be able to slide into that 70 spot. That was the last spot for the PGA Tour playoffs. Now, let’s take a look at the last three tournaments of the PGA Tour, which is the three playoffs. You got the FedEx St. Jude Championship this week, August 7th through the 10th. Previous winner is Hideki Matsuyama. And then next week you got the BMW championship which was uh won last year by Keegan Bradley. And then at the end of the month you got the Tour Championship. Let me explain a little bit about these three tournaments. So these 70 guys that I just show you, let me take it back. So all these guys right here, this 70 from here all the way up, they will be competing on this first playoff. uh championship which is the FedEx Angel Championship. Out of those 70, only 50 will go to the BMW Championship. Once they play that tournament, the BMW championship, only 30 will go to the Tour Championship, which is the at the end of the month. So, this is do or die for this guys. Anybody below the I want to say below the 10th place and below from Keegan Bradley all the way down all these guys are competing for FedEx points to try to climb up that FedEx got points leaderboard. They are playing their hearts out this week. Look at this. FedEx got points 2,000 points. 2,000 point next week. and obviously the tour championship. But only 70 players will play this week. Next week only 50 players and then the following week only 30 players will go to the final which Scotty Sheffller was the winner last year. Do you think Scotty Sheffller will repeat? Do you think he will come up short? There’s a lot of competition this year, so we’ll see. But the way Scotty Sheffller has been playing lately, I’m going all in with Scotty. I don’t know if you know, but Rory Maroy opted out for the first playoff game, which is the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He would not be playing this week. He will be playing on the BMW and the Tour Championship. Of course, it’ll be amazing if if Rory can come up, you know, and win the tour championship. That’ll be pretty cool to see. Um, so that’s what we have this week, guys. So as of yesterday after Cameron Yan win at the Winham Championship, this is how the US and European team are looking like right now. On team USA, you have the first six. You got Scotty Sheffler, Sander Softly, JJ Spawn, Russella Henley, Bryson Dambo. I was a pick from the captain Keegan Bradley which a lot of people were surprised but I think Bryson Dambo will give a lot of energy to the team USA. Then you got Harris English below Harris English you still I don’t want to say still in the bubble but I think he will be he will get picked Justin Thomas just because of his experience on the on the USA team. Then you got Koli Moria, Ben Griffin, Keegan Bradley, which he already say he’s playing, Maverick McNeil, and Brian Harmon. But a lot of these guys are playing this week to see if they can get the 2,000 points from the FedEx uh championship so they can climb up this chart right here and put more pressure on Keegan on Keegan Bradley. So, I don’t know. We will have to see after Sunday where we sitting in regards as you know in regards points but this is how we look right now for team USA. For team Europe you got Rory Maroy of course on the top McIntyre, Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrell Hatton, Shane Li and Seb Straa below that. That’s this is where we at pretty much with team Europe. Um I’m happy to see Justin Rose. I know he brings a lot of energy to uh the European team and Victor Havlin. I’ve loved the guy. He’s been playing well. And Matt Matt Fitzpatrick as well. They both have been playing very, very good golf. This is how are we looking right now. Remember, this is going to shake up a little bit after this week and after the next um and on our way to the PGA Tour uh the championship. And then we will have to see where we at on these charts. But as of right now, that’s how it’s looking. Um, let me know in the comments what do you guys think who you have this week for the FedEx Championship.
