After clinching his second PGA Tour title at the 3M Open, Kurt Kitayama made an emotional call to his family — but his mom didn’t answer! 😅
Kitayama later revealed she was too nervous to even watch him down the stretch.
Adding to the family moment, his brother was on the bag as caddie, making the win even more special.

Um, feels amazing to come out on top. Um, this is awesome. And how meaningful to have your brother on the back this week. What was that like? I mean, this this one’s going to be extra special having him on the bag. Um, very cool experience and really happy he’s he’s part of it. Does this boost his resume for future weeks? Going to see him next week in Greensboro? I think so. What was that like helping him get down the stretch? Maybe especially on 17. Do you kind of lean on him? Yeah, of course. Um, you know, he was helped me stay calm out there, make good decisions. Um, and you know, just, yeah, it just helps having family on the back. Brother here, but other family members were watching from home, made a phone call to the parents. What was it like kind of seeing their face and their reaction? Um, really cool uh to see them. Well, my dad my mom didn’t answer. So, I called my dad. I assumed they’d be together. And um my dad tells me my mom couldn’t watch. She was I think out somewhere um just not so she couldn’t be too nervous watching. Um but and then uh you know called my girlfriend and she was ecstatic um stressed. Uh but it’s it’s really special to be able to call them and and see how they are.
