Rory Mroyy’s playoff absence sparks possible PGA Tour rule change. Rory Mroyy’s decision to skip the 2025 FedEx Street Jude championship has raised concerns across the PGA Tour and may soon lead to a policy shift. Despite being second in the FedEx Cup standings, Mroy opted out of the $20 million playoff opener, citing rest and poor past results at TPC Southwind. With no alternate added, the field dropped to 69 players, highlighting gaps in the playoff structure. Tour officials, including Jordan Spith and Peter Malnati, have confirmed discussions are underway to introduce penalties for skipping playoff events. A proposed Mroy rule could lead to loss of FedEx Cup points, bonus eligibility, or financial fines. Mroy is not alone in the spotlight. Big names like Max Homer, Tom Kim, and Adam Scott missed the playoffs altogether due to poor seasons, adding urgency to reform discussions. As playoff stakes grow, the PGA Tour appears set to take firmer control over player participation. Friends, what is your opinion about this? Share in the comments.

Why play when no rewards. Money is not everything to Rory. Not extra stroks given and he's not going get nothing . PGA changed the format live with it if not needed to win.
Im not sure how forcing someone to play in a tournament that has a 200,000 dollar entry fee is going to help anything with the PGA
Get a life Spieth
