The foam isn’t very thick and doesn’t weight a lot so I don’t for see any issues with club head speed. I also have orange, green, and blue stars so I might switch them out when near water, sand, or the rough.

This is so fucking stupid it *has* to work! Report back immediately.

  2. frankdatank_004

This probably would hinder your distance because the foam would absorb some of the energy.

Also I think modifying a club face to that extent is illegal.

Does the number of points help with the sweet spot dispersion? I’d always heard about foam stars, but thought it was just something old timers made up to mess with us

OP is a big contributor to the Cleveland Browns sub, so this not being a joke absolutely checks out.

That’s it you’ve unlocked the secret to becoming a scratch golfer

I think I need to see the other colors

Yes, this is what Taylormade does with speedfoam. You will take off spin, but the bigger sweet spot will go about 2 clubs longer. Swing hard.

  11. I’m a +14.9 handicap and have been doing this for years.

Color relates to difficulty of hitting the respective sweet spot. Blue and Green stars are going to be the easiest, while the yellow and orange ones make it harder to hit

Ive done this and it works great, only thing you need to do is take a razor blade and slice in grooves to *exactly* match the groves on your club so you don’t lose spin. Hit ‘em well brother!

The ball is round use a circle not a star …jeez. /S

This is a 10/10 shitpost for the comment section alone.

  16. redundantPOINT

Just dip it in honey and all of it will be a sweet spot

  17. Ted183672

Looks like some pre existing toe slapper marks the foam stars should be safe.

  18. I see what you are doing and its a good idea. Instead of the foam (which you have to do for every club) try changing the ball to a Hacky Sack, you should get similar results.

  19. Euphoric-Clock7518

Looks like the new PXG Starfish series.

  20. FatFaceFaster

Use a Fox News bumper sticker for more spin.

  21. Jegagne88

All these people ragging on you for it being a dumb idea….but HAVE THEY TRIED IT? NO? Looks like we have a science experiment on our hands

  22. programkira

Blue stars will definitely help repel water

  23. Nickelnuts

Does the orange one taste different then the rest?

  24. snopro387

You’d have to be able to hit the ball with that part of the club for it to make a difference

  25. dmackerman

Anything that helps compress the ball

  26. JamesTilovegolf

Sure will!! guaranteed to knock at least 10 strokes off your game

  27. No-Veterinarian-7079

    Is that SpongeBob SquarePants club??

  28. youCouldProbablyActu

If you look really really closely the next time Scottie plays, you will also see a massive orange foam star. So I would say, yes

  29. thankyoukirby

Is nobody else noticing the guy is playing with a one-dimensional club?

OP – trust the scientific method.

No one, and I mean NO ONE in this sub has ever dared try ANYTHING so game changing as this.

I’m willing to invest after seeing a working prototype.

  31. undrwater

I believe the green provides better distance while sacrificing accuracy.

  32. grubberlr

you can’t hit the center, but you can hit the star in the center of the face, delusional

  33. IllustratorIcy2206

Op. You have me crying man. This is as good as stand up. Thank you.

  34. gmarconcini

    Honestly, no.

But doesn’t mean we don’t want to see you try. Please share results, video preferably.

I wanted to comment “who cares” until I saw the color coding…. You might have solved the problem
