Chris Godup has one of the most unique swings on tour. Let’s see why. At shaft parallel, you’re going to see two things. I love the straight line his arm and shaft makes down the target line, but he has a slight over the top move. Note where this box is where his club head is. As we go to the top, you’re going to see tons of patience. His hips start opening up, but his shoulders stay. This hip shoulder separation helps him produce tremendous club head speed. That left arm parallel position. His shaft is pretty steep compared to most PGA Tour players. This is that slight over the top move we were talking about. Now, as we keep progressing in the down swing, you see his club head gets back on plane, which is awesome. But remember that box at shaft parallel in the back swing. Here it is. His club head is slightly over plane from it. What’s important is his club head is on plane at this point, which is how he hits so many fairways at the speeds he’s swinging.

What do u mean by tons of patience ?? he pauses at the top for a longer time?
Also pretty wild to see his right hand thumb comes off the shaft on his take away
Oh my a cupped wrist at the top? What will the commentators say? The commentators always talk about a bowed or flat wrist but talk bad about a flat wrist. Clowns.
Is he a stack and tilt player?
Kinda reminds of koepka
Good video, good understanding of the issue without being sensationalist about it (so many other golf commentators are just full of mock outrage clickbait bs these days).

Unique means one of a kind, therefore nothing can be “one of the most unique”
Awesome job Chris 🎉
Almost looks like a right handed Phil mickelson very similar at the top and down swing
Very Sergio like with that beautiful lag. Classic crack the whip! I love how his right hand is is over the ball with his driver at address and not behind. I have been nagged my whole life not to do that.
if there is one thing i have learned about golf its who cares how someone swings, as long as it goes long and straight…
