LITTLE ROCK – For the second consecutive year, the Little Rock Women’s Golf program has earned the Ohio Valley Conference Team Academic Achievement Award, announced today on the final day of academic award announcements from the league.
“We are extremely proud of our student-athletes for their outstanding academic achievements and their continued commitment to excellence beyond competition,” said Little Rock Director of Athletics Frank M. Cuervo. “Having so many student-athletes named to the OVC Honor Roll, while also receiving the Academic Medal of Honor and Team Academic Achievement Award are meaningful recognitions that reflect the hard work, focus, and integrity of our Trojans. These honors also speak volumes about the support of our coaches and academic staff, who play a vital role in fostering a culture where academic success is prioritized and celebrated.”
The award is presented in each conference-sponsored sport to the program with the greatest percentage of eligible student-athletes posting a 3.25 grade point average or higher. This announcement caps the OVC academic awards for the 2024-25 academic year. On Friday, a total of 19 Little Rock student-athletes received the OVC Academic Medal of Honor, and yesterday the Commissioner’s Honor Roll included 113 Trojans.
Those lists included two members of the Women’s Golf team (Eleonore Aernouts and Fehild Graesel) for the Academic Medal of Honor, and all six team members making the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
This is the final story in the series that also included the Academic Medal of Honor (Friday) and Commissioner’s Honor Roll (Monday).
