Ian Poulter Faces SHOCK Relegation from LIV Golf | Majesticks Captain in Danger!

Ian Poulter is on the brink of being relegated from LIV Golf — and not even his captain status can save him. With just two regular season events left, the Majesticks GC co-captain sits 51st in the standings, below the relegation line. Unlike previous seasons where stars like Bubba Watson were protected, LIV Golf has now made it clear: no player finishing 49th or lower is safe.

Poulter isn’t alone. Teammates Lee Westwood and Henrik Stenson are also hovering dangerously close to the drop. If they can’t climb the ranks in Chicago and Indianapolis, they could face LIV’s high-stakes Promotions event — or worse, be out of the league entirely.

This video dives deep into:
• LIV’s new relegation rules
• What it means for team captains
• Poulter’s final-year contract pressure
• The end of “business case” exemptions
• The looming crisis for Majesticks GC

Ian Poulter is staring down the barrel of relegation from LIIV Golf and this time his status as a team captain won’t save him. Unlike in previous seasons where exceptions were made for certain players, Eliv Golf has reportedly decided that no one is immune from the drop zone. Not even high-profile captains like Poulter. According to the Telegraph, the Englishman who co- captains the Mage Stickix GC has been informed there will be no exemptions for players finishing 49th or lower in the individual standings. As it stands, Poulter sits 51st with just two regular season events left in Indianapolis and Chicago to claw his way to safety. If it doesn’t finish inside the top 48, he’ll either face relegation or have to fight for his spot at Elivy’s grueling promotions event this winter. This marks a major shift from last year when LIV offered reprieves based on business cases. Bubba Watson, despite finishing in the drop zone, was retained as Range Goats GC captain due to commercial considerations. Brandon Grace received similar treatment from his Stinger GC squad which was deemed too reliant on him for team marketability, but LIIV stance has hardened for 2025 and Pter is running out of time. So far this season, the 48-year-old has earned points in just one event, a T13 finish in South Korea. His Mavsticks team hasn’t fared much better, sitting 12th out of 13 in the team standings. Fellow European legends and co- captains Lee Westwood and Henrik Stinson are also in trouble. Ranked 46th and 47th individually. That sets up a potentially dramatic showdown in Chicago where the trio could be battling for their LIIV futures and possibly their careers. To make matters more urgent, Palter is reportedly in the final year of his LIIV contract. Without a strong finish or successful bid through the promotions event, his playing future in the league is far from guaranteed.
