Furyk & Friends PGA Tour Champions resumes after brief weather suspension

The Constellation Furyk & Friends was briefly suspended on Sunday because of standing water on some of the greens at the Timuquana Country Club.

The Constellation Furyk & Friends tournament will be held at Timuquana Country Club for the last time, October 3-5, 2025.The tournament will move to the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast in 2026.The future participation of Tiger Woods, who will be eligible for the Champions Tour in 2026, remains uncertain.

The Constellation Furyk and Friends PGA Tour Champions event will be making one last splash at the Timuquana Country Club from Oct. 3-5, with the tournament moving to the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast Oct. 9-11, 2026.

But will the move mean a better chance that Tiger Woods will play?

First things first: the 2025 Furyk & Friends at Timuquana will include the usual field of World Golf Hall of Fame members and major champions. but it also will bring the music to the golf course for the first Community Concert Series following the first and second rounds on Oct. 3-4.

Furyk & Friends has traditionally held a concert at Daily’s Place three days before the first round but now fans at the course can watch golf, then head for the Tailgate Village near the 17th hole for the music.

The first night will be Locash, the duo of Chris Lucas and Preston Brust that hit No. 1 on the charts in 2016 with “I Know Somebody” and also co-wrote hits for Keith Urban (“You Gonna Fly”) and Tim McGraw (“Truck Yeah”).

The second night will feature the duo Love And Theft, with Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles. They had a No. 1 hit in 2011, “Angel Eyes.”

Each concert will begin at approximately 4 p.m., or after the final putt of the day drops. It will be free to anyone with a daily or weekly ticket.

“We want to go out on a really good note at Timuquana,” said Jim Furyk, referring to the decision announced last month to move the tournament to the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach Golf Resort for the next five years.

There will be another concert for pro-am guests and sponsors at the Florida Theater Sept. 30, and the “Live on the Lawn,” on Oct. 2 behind the Timuquana clubhouse, also for sponsors and pro-am guests. The acts has not been announced yet.

Announcement of venue change works for both

Furyk said making the announcement to move to Hammock Beach nearly three months before the tournament helps both venues.

“Knowing where we’re going allows us to focus on finishing out really well at Timuquana and allows us to get a foot in the door for 2026 and get to know our partners at Hammock Beach,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of momentum with four great events at Timuquana and we’re hoping to finish with our best tournament yet.”

The Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation has donated nearly $5 million to First Coast charities over four years.

Furyk said there will be some additional announcements in the future about a possible exhibition golf event and a first tee ceremony.

Will Tiger Woods play the Furyk & Friends?

Furyk said he’s prepared for a frequent question before the first tournament at Hammock Beach: Will Tiger Woods play?

Woods, who hasn’t played this year because of an Achilles tendon injury, turns 50 years old on Dec. 30 and can begin playing on the PGA Tour Champions when the tour begins its 2026 season.

Furyk and Woods are friendly, have played international match-play events as partners and Woods was a vice-captain for Furyk at the 2018 Ryder Cup. In addition, the golf course is about 50 miles closer to Woods’ Jupiter home and on the Champions Tour, he can use a cart during competition.

But Furyk said he doesn’t have any insight at this point as to how much Champions Tour golf Woods will play.

“Tiger has always been pretty quiet about his plans for the future,” Furyk said. “The Champions Tour would obviously love to know his plans and for us, the players would love to have him come out. His impact would be incredible. But Tiger is Tiger. He plays thing close to the vest.”

Jim Furyk slowly getting his game in shape

Furyk is focusing more on his own game. He’s had right hip replacement surgery this year and said he’s still battling lower back issues. He has yet to play a tournament in 2025 but also hasn’t missed his own event.

“I’m very hopeful,” he said. “I’m not hitting it as nearly as hard as I would like and I don’t have my [swing] speed back.
