Well, finally, welcome back to the channel, guys. Been a bit of a break. Had a few weeks off, but I’m back. Break 80 is back and I’m back at Burnon Beaches, one of my favorite courses. Uh, I was member here for many years. If you haven’t watched my original video, please go watch that. But today, it’s going to be a break 80. Um, going to be doing the break 80 slightly differently from now on. I’ve never really adjusted my uh goal depending on the difficulty of the course. So basically what that means if I play off eight and the course allows me two extra shots uh I’m really playing off 10. So in most instances I’ll be gaining extra shots. For example, today I if I shoot my handicap it’ll be 81. But just for future references all other courses will be harder generally um and I’ll get extra shots. So see if I can break 80s today. I really like this course. A lot of fun memories. A lot of fun holes. See if we can do it. All right, nice little downhill par four to start. Going to hit a fivewood. If I can get it over the crest, should roll, but it’s down the right. That’ll be just fine. Should be okay. All right, I’m use my 60, which is not something I really do when I’m not in the bunker just cuz there’s not a lot of green. Try and land this on the pin. It’s about 80. Just 3/4 swing. Oh, thinned it. Oh, you absolute tool right behind the tree. Me. All right, I’m going to have to try and somehow get this around this tree. Don’t really think the green feeds around much, but I think if I just get it around low punch the 52. Try and get it to stop. See what the angle is like. It’s probably not as bad from up here. I mean, I can just get it past. Probably going to hit the tree. Okay, let’s give it a go. [ __ ] Inevitable. What a shock of a start. Get close. Well, that for a bogey, I won’t mind. All right, not the best start. All right, a little bit of a dog leg up the hill around the corner and play another fivewood. Go straight over this uh T- box. Lots of room right and left. So theory should be a nice easy easy shot. That’s good. Better than the first one. Ah, perfect. Right. Absolutely nailed the uh T- shot. Dread straight. 175. That doesn’t sound right. Yeah, it is. I think I’ll hit I think a smooth seven. It’s a little bit into breeze, I think. I’ll prepare that one. That’s my bad. Just wanted to jump in and say how incredibly difficult these pins were. Every single pin, I think bar one or two were right at the back, tucked away. Um, just super hard pins. Anyway, I came to say if you’re enjoying the video, don’t forget to like, comment, um, and subscribe because a huge proportion of you who watch my videos aren’t subscribed to the mean the world if you could. Thank you in advance. Come left. Hit it really well, but Oh, it’s just dropped into the bush. I don’t know if I’m going to find that. I just didn’t come left. Just went dead straight. Exactly the same again. Oh, really consistent. Okay, that one’s in play. Let’s try find that first one. All right, we’ve got lucky first. Second could be worse. All right. Well, I’m glad I’ve got it, but I have no idea how I’m going to play this. Just have a look. I think I can probably just punch this out with a with an eight or something into the hill. There’s no chance I’m getting a wedge to that. Let’s just clear some of this without moving the ball. Okay. Into the hill left to right. So, I need to aim left. Oh, no. Stop. Stop. Well, that just keeps on going. Come on. Let’s get this close. 52. Just land it just past this brown bit. Let it roll up. No. Can I spin? Oh no. It’s a shame. It’s too early for a double. Two up. Okay. Downhill. Lovely little path through this one. 75 to the pin exactly. I think a little bit within two downhill should just cancel each other out hopefully. See if we can get this on. I’m left with Yeah, there’s a bunker there. So, we might be in there. Pretty flat hut, I think. Not a lot in it. Maybe a little bit left to right. Definitely need a birdie after those first two holes. Where did mine land? I’ve got a feeling it might have landed here cuz there’s no pitch mark. Weird. Come on. That was weak. Oh, what the Terrible start right in the middle. All right. Beautiful tea box. Probably my favorite hole. Let’s try and rip one. Fair amount of room left and right. Just going to aim right side of that bunker. Right in the middle. Oh no. Think that’s going to be a goner. Hope I find that one. Okay. I’ve been a lucky boy. Um I’m just going to have to hit and hope. Try and get this out. Has it gone too far? Okay. How the hell has that stayed in right by the fence? All right, we need to make most of this. There’s my second T- shot just there. And up and down for par from here or up and down for birdie. It would be from here. 203. Little bit of wind behind. I think a five will be perfect. Come on. Lots of room left. Oh, and I’ve pulled it left. It’s gone left. I’ve hit in the bunker that’s 40 yards left of theing green. Let’s just hit this one for fun, shall we? Try and get it on. That’s better. That’s much better. That one. Maybe I’ll just take that one instead. Tuck that in for pile. It’s right by the flag. That one. Right. Well, this shouldn’t really be in play this bunker. This is so far left of the green. But try and just get this on. Doesn’t have to be close. Kick down. I’ll do. Yeah. A lot left to right. Wow. I would say it’s a good bogey, but could have been worse. Love to just play that hole all day. Right, first bad tea box. Plenty of room right left on this one. There’s a hole on the right and the trees are pretty pretty thin on the left and there is the next hole. So, just straight down the middle. Where’s he going? Not safe there, mate. That’ll be good. Don’t kick left. M hopefully that’s past the bunker. Okay, perfectly judged fivewood. I think if id hit that normally instead of hitting it low that probably would have been down here which is not where you want to be cuz it’s much easier shot from up here. This is 150 to the middle pins at the front. It’s probably 140 playing 150 to the wind. So this should be perfect nine. Come left. Nice. That was a nine. All right. Come on. Great shot in. Let’s try and make the most of it. Thank you. Well, it’s annoying. Yeah. Devilish path three. Quite a long way. Pins are right at the back of the left. 195 yards away. It’s on the top here. So, I’m just going to I’m pretty much going to go straight to the pin because anything left or right of it is actually fine. So, it’s likely going to go right cuz there’s a bit of wind. So, we’ll aim just left of the pin. I doufted it. Please run up there. Stop. Okay. Could be worse. Right. This is a horrible shot. Got to go up to this ledge and then there’s a little ups slope up to the pin. So, this has got to be perfect. So, I think I’m going to play a eight iron. Just get it up and let it roll up. Go on, get around. Stay up there. Wow. Well, for once I did what I said I was going to do. That never happens. Come. That is probably the best up and down I have today. Can’t see getting better than that. Okay, nice straight one. Then next hole is one another good hole as well. Let’s try and let’s try and get a birdie. Piles are good, but birdies are better. Right off the top. Okay, that’s it’s worked. Not pretty, but it’s down there. It’s in the fairway. Was blue back? Yeah, it’s here. 142 right by that right underneath that big old tree. Wind still into uphill by a couple yards. Probably a nine. An easy nine right at that big tree. Just like the last nine I hit. Get left. Get left. Oh, it kicked left. So it might be good. been a very lucky boy. Must have kicked probably off here, I assume, cuz I was definitely sure. Yeah, there it is. There’s a little pitch mark just here, I think. Not sure. I’ll take that though for birdie numero uno. Well, thank you for the bounce. Burning beaches. Nice fun dog leg left. Try and basically just go over these trees with a little draw. Maybe aiming at that big stumpy tree in the middle with a draw should be perfect. Win behind. So bit of help. Oh no. [ __ ] Sit. It’s gone. Right. Stop. Oh, if that’s gone through the And it has. Okay, that should be fine. Terrible shot, but I think I’ve got away with it. Why? I’ve got so many lucky breaks today. I’m going to take every single one of them. Pin is just the back left of this green. If you can see it behind the left of the collapsed tree here. 166 to the pin. Win behind. I think I’m just going to play an easy nine cuz there’s not much point going for the pin. I’m not going to get any spin out of this. And there’s wind behind. So, just over the uh fallen tree, middle of the green if it rolls down. Happy days. Hopefully there’s no root here. Come left. Come left. Come left. Yeah, it’s on the front. Probably could do another club, right? Very lengthy part now. I think this is pretty flat though. Maybe slightly right to left at the start, but you know, I’ve got to hit it so hard. I think I’m just going to go straight at it. Two part here is is good. Walk off. Sit, sit, sit. I thought I absolutely [ __ ] nailed it. Not a particularly hard hole, is it? But it is striking. It’s one, so I can’t bo. Okay. What was the wind doing this one? This way. Throwing it. Nice fivewood off those big trees. Try and keep it low. Get over. Get over. Oh no. Is in going into the ditch. All right. 100 yards uphill into the wind. Or is it into the wind? I can’t figure out. I’m just going to punch a fish u a pee wedge up there and hope that it gets on the green. Just left this tree. Go. Yeah, it’s on. That was a good shot. Not the place to be down here, right? Come on. This would be a good birdie. A very unexpected birdie. Uphill, left to right. Probably four cups left. Bit of a swooper. Come on. Even a two putt’s good. That is just terrible. What is that? Take that. Don’t mind paring that hole. So, I think that puts me at five over after nine. It’s not terrible. I need four over on the back nine. We’ll see. Right. Probably my favorite par three. Huge bunker at the front. Not even thinking about that. 167 to the flag. Probably 160 to cover the um front of the green. So, just hit an eight. Should be perfect. No. Cover the bunker. Cover the bunker. Stay up there. It went in something but didn’t go in the bunker. Sprinkle head maybe. We’ll find out. Right, I’ve managed to end up in the sprinkler head. So, I’m just going to take relief out of that. Got a feeling this is going to roll into the bunker. So, I’ll have to place it. I’m assuming that is the rule. I think this is I can just go straight at this. Why am I just not hitting the putts? H after a flurry of pars. I’ would have preferred another par. Okay, long par five, 550. Chance to open up with the driver. Room right more so than left. So, straight down the middle. Nice smooth swing. It’s going right, but that’ll be short of all that stuff. Should be right at the fairway. Right. Got away with this one. Was never going to be that bad. 292 yards to the pin. Not going to go for it clearly. I want to leave myself good yardage in though. Probably 100. So, I think I’ll play five. Just go over the edge of this tree. It’s nice smooth swing. Wind will bring it left or right. What is that? Get up there. Okay. Well, that is it’s going to be about 180 in from there. That’s not what we wanted to do. Okay. Well, this is probably less than 180, I think. Probably what? 175. 170 into Yeah, probably 180 six pins at the back again. So, this needs to be a good one. Anything on the green. Pulled it. Come right. Come on, wind. It’s on or left of the green. I don’t know if I’m going to putt this or chip this. I think I can put this. Yeah, let’s give it a go. Good one, M. I’ll take that on five. That’s uh all over the place in that hole. Okay, nice T- shot here would be perfect. Going to go try and play a draw just over the right hand side. I think it goes slightly left. Nope. I think that might actually be okay cuz that is so far right. It’s going to be on the right. And let’s just play this one back into play. Just a nice draw through this gap with an eight. Get it back onto the fairway. Hopefully that’s all right. Right. First wedge shot I think today. Need to get this up and down. Pins are right at the back. Need to land this just past the bunker. Let it release down. Can’t tell if that’s close. It looks six, seven ft. Right. Furman right right at the cup. This would be a hell of a par. Definitely one I didn’t expect. Wow. Take those. All right. 130 straight into wind. Just going to hit a a nice smooth nine straight at the flag. From memory, this has got two tiers, this pin. So, it comes back down. So, maybe a little spin on the nine. Help it come back down. Come right. It’s going to be short, I think. Horrible bounce and in the bunker. Right. Delicate little splash out here just to get it up onto the green. Get in. Oh, well. I needed that. You’re an hour in the mate. Okay, this is a tough hole from back here. I don’t think I’ve ever played from these TE’s. I normally play there where it’s a little bit of an easier shot, but here I kind of just have to hug the tree line. I’m actually going to play a four. Don’t know if I can. Well, five would be good, but I think a four would suffice. It’s a bit left, but just fine. Tricky shot in from there. I think I’m just going to hit a seven. 180 downhill. Okay, 186 marker here. I think slightly into wind’s definitely dowed down a little bit. The flag is just in line with the tree left of the V. It’s a back right pin. Just going to go straight at it. This should be a perfect number. Left, left, left. Okay, it’s 10, 15 yards, right? But well, do I chip this? I think I bump and run it. Is it into grain there? Yeah, it is. Um, do I just take the slope out of it? I think I take the slope out of it. I need to land this right here. I think here. Ah, a little bit short. Probably better than a putt would have been though. So happy with that. I think right to left right side of the cup. Come on. Better par to step six over I think. No. Ah, silly bogey. All right, this one could be reachable. The wind is this way. Slightly behind. Not much. So, that should take out my cut if it does go right. Go right. Let’s just try and just hit one. Good. Oh no. Left. I think that probably made it through. Do you have another ball on you? [ __ ] Um, okay. I think that’s I think that’s through on the tea. So, we’re right. Well, been incredibly lucky yet again. That is it. Um, I’m going to have to bump this with a with a forearm. Just let it roll up there. Go to this little light light brown bump. It should roll. Get left. Stay up there. Stop. Well, that’s better than I could have done with anything else. Well, to be pin high after that drive, I can’t tell you how I got here. If this goes in, this will be the ridiculous most ridiculous bird in my life. I’ll finish. I’ll put it in for the video. Can’t be missing this. Another stupid par. Can’t believe. Okay, three holes to go. We are seven over and the score to beat this this hole is of course 81. So just need three good holes. A nice fivewood here. That is not what we needed. Hit the tree. I think it just dropped down by the tree. Did you see it? Okay, it’s just going to bump this through the gap. Just before the bunky as close I can but not in it. Keep going. Keep going. Well, it’s probably going to be 220 from there. Whether or not we can go for it, I don’t know. Okay, I got a feeling this is going to be fivewood territory. It is 237. Ah, there’s a lot of space. Wind is don’t know this way. Do I do threewood, fivewood? I feel like I do. This is my third shot. I’d have to get up and down. So, yeah, this has to be has to be fivewood. No. Get down. Stop. Yeah, bit far right. Right. This needs to be a good shot. Got a really good lie. Probably stupid playing a fivewood there, but you know, it’s not. It’s boring otherwise, isn’t it? Sit. Sit. I think it’s just gone long. Hit it too good. Right. Come on. This is for five. Stay at seven over. Haven’t made any of these off the green today. Left right up the hill. Turn. Uh eight over. It’s birdie the last 17th and then onto the 18th. Okay. 170 to the pin right at the front. Just going to go middle of the green slightly into. So, this is going to be an easy six. Pulled it. I think that’s going to be fine. It’s going to be a long putt. It’s definitely not middle bit of the green. All right. Long sweeping left to right putt. A birdie would really help. Just give me that little bit of a cushion I need. Break right. Oh my god. Damn. That would have been a good birdie. That is a par. Yeah, that was a that put saved me there. Eight over with one hole to play. 78 projected, 81 final score required. It’s looking promising. All right, last hole. Come on. Let’s finish in style. Wind off the right. Just going to go straight down the middle. Are they out of range? Yeah, I’ve got five words. Be fine. Oh no. See, bounced out of the bunker. What the [ __ ] is going on today? I thought that was lost. There is no way that just bounced out of the bunker. Right. This is a toughy. 220. Damn. I’m in two minds here. Do I just play it safe? Get it into the fairway and have a wedge up and down for par? I think I do. I think if I go for this, I’m just going to end up in a bunker. So, I’m just going to lay up. I’m sorry. I know that’s not what you want to see, but I want to break I want to break 81. Break the score. So, I’m just going to play 220 a P wedge. Just bump it down there. Leave it in the fairway and then get close to the wedge. That’s a smart play to do. Straight over this bunker. Kick right. I mean, how I’ve missed the fairway from there is just ridiculous. But it’s safe, right? This is a good lie. I’m going to play a 52. It’s one of those. Land it on the front. Let it roll up. Go. Yeah, that’s good. All right, this is for par and for a score 78, I think. If not, 79 and then we’ve done it. But 78 would be better. That’s annoying. Thank you very much. I really enjoyed that. That was great. 79. Come on. What a round. 79. Come on. Very happy breaking it here. Course is in really good condition. Um I got very lucky. Play with the same ball the whole round. Found it every time. I mean that’s golf summertimes. I hope you enjoyed that video. Don’t forget to comment and subscribe. I’ll see you in the next one.

  1. Played there a few weeks ago, what a lovely course. Reminded me of Sunningdale a bit but without the heather .
Well played young man 👏 👏
