The duo of Grady Smith and Mitchell Martin continued their dominance over the Santa Barbara Classic with their third victory in four years on Sunday at the Santa Barbara Golf Club.

Smith and Martin emerged from the 2-day, 36-hole tournament at 19-under-par in the two-person scramble event, adding a 2025 title to their 2022 and 2024 victories.

The three-time champions were in a groove all weekend, shooting a 10-under-par on Saturday before sealing the championship with a 9-under-par performance on Sunday.

A pair of San Marcos High Royals finished behind Smith and Martin for second place in the Santa Cruz Flight, as rising junior Austin Downing and 2024 graduate Shams Jahangir-Arshad combined for a score of 14-under-par.

The Santa Cruz Flight ended with a three-way tie for third place as Jonathan Larson/Rye Winans, Brian Helton/Scott Helton and Brandon Gama/Johnny Henno recorded two-day scores of 11-under-par.

In the Women’s Santa Barbara Flight, Jennifer Sorosky and Sheri Dean finished well above the field at 2-under-par for the weekend to capture first place.

They were followed by Janice Takeda/Tammy Esposito at 8-over-par and Susan Parker/Jill Horst, whose 10-under-par finish was good for third place.

Meanwhile, Philip Hurlbut and Darren Taylor were the top finishers in the San Miguel Men’s Net Flight after a strong weekend that ended with a 7-under-par score.

Ryan Wenger/Eric Foote slid into second place at 5-under-par, while Dale Keene/Mike Gregg and Danny Carroll/Owen Douglas tied for third in the San Miguel Flight at 4-under-par.

The Santa Rosa Men’s Net Flight was captured by Grant Harris and Jeff Forster’s two-day score of 7-under-par. 

Gus Hurlbut/Toby Hurlbut came in second at 4-under-par, and Rodd Johnson/David Prekker took home third at 3-under-par.

The duo of Bryce Schmiiel and Chris Dailey rounded out the first-place finishers by shooting 7-under-par for the weekend and beating out the Anacapa Men’s Net Flight.

Tony Valdez/Charlie Yusta’s score of 6-under-par was good for second place, and Tanner Reibenspies/Ned Hurlbut carded a 5-under-par for third place.
