Sketches and Rosa a versatile daily trainer with carbon infus inside it. Can the shoes able to tackle all different type of training? Let’s find out. Heat. Heat. Hello guys, welcome my channel. I’m Ken, one of the Malaysia running YouTuber. Today I’m going to talk about this pair of shoes. This is Sketches Aerospa. A versatile daily trainer with the carbon infused plate. It’s a carbon H infused plate inside a shape like H inside the shoes. Can these shoes tackle for all different kind of workout using this pair of shoes because this is a daily trainer by Sketches. So can you tackle for easy run, base run, some speed workout or even long run with this pair of daily trainer. Before I proceed further, full disclosure, this pair of shoes is provided by the Sketches Malaysia for the purpose of review. No one can watch the video or give any opinion on this video before you guys can watch it on YouTube. So all the opinion is my personal opinion. So let’s start with some numbers of the shoes. For the numbers the shoe size is 12 US 12 is slightly half size bigger than my normal because they doesn’t have the middle either 11 or 12. They doesn’t have the 11 and half. So I have to go to the size US 12 that is 30 cm make the shoes a bit big and the overall weight definitely increase a bit. So the overall weight of the shoes is 319 g with the h shoes on this one. And the stack height on the back of the shoes on the heel is 36 mm and the foroot is 30 mm. Make the shoes 6 mm from heel to toe. for the 30 mm on the foroot is considered as a flat foot razor nowadays because shoes nowadays with a huge st height and the numbers easily in the front will go up to 35 34 with a bigger numbers for this shoes is 30 mm so it doesn’t have the wide fit option because I feel a bit tight a snug fit over here a bit tight so that’s why I go size up for the shoes and one more thing about the shoes. Why the shoes named as Aerospa? Because of the form. If you look closely at the form itself, you can see some of the line of the shoes is very curvy line all the way up on the left and right of the shoes. This is what sketches claim because this is more to the arrow dynamic of the shoes. When we run, the wind can easily cut through on all this kind of line and go behind. So I’m not sure how much it will improve but this is the design and this is why it’s called as the aerospark and they even have the full series of the arrow versions but for now is the aerospark of the daily trainer on the upper using the enduring mesh upper. This is more or less is look like all the other type of daily trainer in the market. There’s a a lot of breathable ventilated upper one piece to the back of the shoes and the pattern is quite like quite nice. I quite like it the shape of the design of the upper and toward towards to the tongue. For the tongue, I think is considered as a partial gusted tongue because it’s not like full gusted and it’s just like this part is not gusted and inside has a partially gusted tongue to hold the tongue in place. During my run, I didn’t have any issue with the tongue because it’s holding nicely in the middle. for the lace using those kind of traditions t lace a bit thick on the top lace and it’s not really long enough. You’re going for the runner not if you’re using the normal knot is just nice enough and moving backwards the padding on the heel color just right amount of padding not too much and not too less. If you look on the back over here, you can see the pull tab of the shoes. It’s almost similar with the Hawa Mark series. The pull tab on the back is almost similar. It’s not too high and it’s not too low. Just nice enough for my feet, my aches to rest over here. And there’s a very nice structure support, the heel collar support on the shoes. This heels collar support is really nice, especially on my 16 km run using the shoes. I didn’t provide much energy to balance my heel color because there is a heel collar to support my heel for the miss of using the hyper burst eyes is type of technology that used by sketches and the form type is more to the super critical form not like the piva material that a lot of brands using nowadays is still on the hyper burst that is the super critical form for this form is more to the stability and there’s energy return on it. The foam is much more firmer and much more robust compared to the all the newest and faster the lighter technology nowadays. But for sketches still using the super critical form is much more robust. It’s bouncier and much more stable and there’s a H type of design of carbon infused plate inside the shoes. Unfortunately, we cannot see it because there’s no cut out to see the plate from here. Even I did remove the insole, I also unable to see the H plate design. So I’m trying to find on internet. It seems like over here the H plate design is more to the foroot for the balancing of the shoes. On the alo they using the goodyear rubber. So far in running shoes there two brand that using the car tire brand. One is the Adidas using the continental rubber. Meanwhile, for sketches using the Goodyear type of rubber that we found on our car tires. The grip is absolutely nice. It’s very grippy on the dry condition. And on my past, I did use Sketches before on the wet is still very grippy because nowadays in Malaysia when I get the shoes for the whole testing, there’s not much rain. There’s no rain. It’s dry season. So by I running on the road tarmac and some of the cement the shoes provide a lot of grip that I need and consider a huge pack of grip on the foroot with just some of the cutout for easy for the shoe band. So it’s much more easy for the shoe to bend during my run. And the two very huge stack of rubber strip on the back. They even have some cutout in the middle. Most probably for this one is for like weight saving and the inside here in the middle here there’s a channel for more or less is like weight saving and try not to get the form to contact and flush with the rubber so we contact with the street and will be scraped off. How’s the fitting of the shoes? For me the shoes fit a bit narrow that’s why I need to go one side up for the shoes. You can see over here the front part of the shoes a bit narrow over here. It doesn’t have the wide version. So I have to go one size up because they doesn’t have because of my size 11 then have to 12. They doesn’t have like 10 10 and a half bunch wants to go 11. You should go to 12. They doesn’t have the 11 and half. So I that’s why I go to size number 12. And it just fit nicely. Fortunately just nice I get that size. So I able to test the shoes for the ash over here is considered just nice amounts of arch. It’s not like really have a big normal arch but is considered is a medium to flat type of arch. If you remove this inner padding the arch over here yes you can feel some parts over here. So when I press on it you can see the actually the form is protuting out. Other than this, beside this form, the arch area here is really good. So most of the arch support is actually come from the inner form. So if you are a white footer or flat footer arch, maybe you can try on these shoes, but make sure this part because this part is actually is going up. So it might rest your feet, our feet, your arch area might rest on this part. So it will be quite irritating if our feet are resting on this part. You are poke on your feet and it not comfortable. So for me it just fit nice and there’s a padding on the insole. Enough with all the numbers of the shoes. How the shoes right that is much more important for me. I use these shoes out for three different run. long run around 16 km and easy and just a base run. So the base run I pick up some of the pace using the shoes and see how the shoes feel like. So total the shoes mileage right now is around 40 km and they’re also still looking pretty good. Let’s go with my first run. The first run is around 16 km when I first using this pair of shoes. I’m not running outside because that day is hazy day. So I stick with the treadmill and I’m using the pair of shoes when I’m running using the pair of shoes on the treadmill. First thing I notice of the shoes is straight to daily trainer. It’s not like a really fast shoes that provide me like go to race pace shoes but it can provide me all the pace that I want on the treadmill. So on the trim I running around 515 to 5 minute when I land on the shoes especially on the foroot I can feel the proportion of the shoes the bounce because the shoes design type is more to the rocker geometry it’s not so prominent rocker geometry but it give you nice amount of the rocker geometry. So when I land on the foroot it’s easily for me to roll off. It’s a very smooth sensation to roll off on my step because it’s not like very aggressive. It’s just a very smooth rolling sensation. It’s just not for the daily training running mount. So on the first run using it, I didn’t found any encounter issue. Just only something very weird over here until right now I’m still encounter is this part on the back of the shoes after three run. I feel like something like pushing over me on the back of the shoes. This is same as when I drive with the slower pace. Slower pace when I running on my easy pace around 7 minutes pace. When I land on the back, I can feel something actually is like poking on my heel arch over here. This this part and both of my shoe I encounter this issue when I try to land on the heel part. I’m not sure why. Is it because of this rubber or the form? I’m not sure. But I’m still need to test it more and get the shoes in some mileage. See whether the form will loosen up or not. But right now, I’m still feeling some of the form when I land on this area. When I land on the fore foot, the mid foot over here, I didn’t encounter. When I go with the slower pace, when I land on the here, when I try to get the full rocker geometry, I feel something like poking on the back. I did try to remove the insole and I didn’t found any issue. On my last run is more to the root back to the root after because of first day and second day on the treadmill because of the bad weather. On the third day when I go out, I go for 10 kilometer base run. But in the middle I pick up some of the marathon pace is go up to 440 and 430 and the shoes able to pick up the pace as a daily trainer. That one is the real test and I able to test the grip of the shoes. It’s really grippy because of the place that I run is the tarmac as well some rock some sand and some grass. Basically it’s everything except water because there’s no raining. So the shoes able to prime me all the grip that I need from the shoes. It’s really grippy and I easily to go left and right. Even though I ran on tremill the shoes giving me a lot of ventilation even on the close and close area the hot area there’s not much wind go through but it’s able to provide me all the ventilation and the comfort of the shoes. What I like about the shoes, first thing first is a balanced, right? The shoes surprisingly well balanced on the front, the top, bottom. The shoes is not like some of the shoes that heavy on the bottom, light on the top. The shoes is very well balanced and the versatile of the rocker geometry is really nice except the weird feeling on the back. Other than that, it’s very versatile and it’s a very well balanced shoes. The next thing is the stability on the foroot. Most probably because of the hitch plate on the shoes or maybe the because of the form itself. The shoes actually is very stable. Even though the sta is not really that high 36 mm. The third thing I like about is the upper is a one piece of tight upper is very comfortable and it’s very breathable and ventilated. Some drawback about the shoes is the upper here. It’s a bit narrow for my foot. I’m not sure about others, but I feel a bit narrow. That’s why I go one size up from the shoes. The next is the H plate. Yes, there’s a carbon infused plate inside the H plate, but I’m not really able to feel the proportion on the H plate. And the H plate is not really that rigid. You can see I can easily bend the shoes, the H plate itself. So, it’s not really that rigid compared to a lot of shoes with the carbon infused plate. for this one is a bit too soft for me. So, it’s more to stabilization rather than proportion me for the next step. Who Aerospark 4? If you’re looking for a versatile daily trainer that can handle all different kind of mileage workout that you throw on it and still stable and provide you energy towards all your run, maybe you can try to consider this pair. Who should not get this shoes? If you’re looking for a much more fun shoes, a faster daily trainer, these shoes might not suitable for you because this is more to a daily trainer rather than a faster super shoes. What’s my final verdict on the sketches arrow spark? For me, Sketches Aerospar is a really versatile daily trainer. It can handle all different kind of workout that I throw on it. long run, slow run, and some speed run on the shoes. It’s able to handle really well despite some of the weights on it. A bit sluggish on the end speed, but overall is a really good type of daily trainer with the carbon infused plate. So, this is my first impression review on the Sketches Aero Spark. See you guys on the next video. Bye.
