Former Bloemfontein professional and Stingers GC player, Dean Burmester, shares his thoughts on LIV Golf heading to South Africa in 2026 for a historic event set to be played at Steyn City in Johannesburg.

Yeah, really, really positive week for me. Um, but more importantly, a positive week for the team. I think I’ve been looking for a little bit of positivity in my game and I could feel last week at the open, you know, the game was getting better. Um, I just wasn’t putting it all together and then this week for three days, for the most part, I did that. And then all of that turns into a good finish. Um, but really proud of the team to shoot the lowest score on a Sunday. We haven’t done that in a while. And for all four of us to shoot under par on a day, we haven’t done that in a while. So, it’s nice. It’s nice for all of us to have shot 17 under um collectively and you know SH had a good finish, Louie had a tough morning and to get that all together and then obviously Brandon continuing his form. So it’s it’s a special day for us obviously a special week with everything that’s gone on and um yeah, what a way to cap it off. What do you think clicked for everyone this weekend? I think just good vibes. Honestly, we all had good vibes. We knew what was coming. Um you know, and having the minister here, having everybody’s support was was special. And there’s a big South African contingent, so you can feel that. And the energy was was special. You seem to enjoy the crowd. Is that one of the cool parts about live, right? Is that Yeah, I think if you don’t use them, they’re going to they’re going to abuse you. So, you might as well uh you know, you use them to your advantage. And I certainly like doing that. It gives me a good feeling. Um certainly on the 14th on the potty hole. So, yeah, it was good. It was good fun. And just in terms of going forward, what are you looking at? Uh you say it’s coming together and you were looking for more positivity this weekend. um going forward, what are you looking at? If you can sum it up, I’d love to win one. So, we got to just try and get ourselves in contention. Hopefully, Wen um finds an injury or a bad golf swing somewhere. Um but yeah, we um we’re just hoping to kind of continue this form and see where we can go with it. Thank you very much. Thanks, K. Awesome. Awesome. Thanks.
