President Donald Trump reportdly shot a 69 at the 2025 Men’s Senior Club Championship on Saturday, crushing the competition at his course in Bedminster, New Jersey.
The official White House social media account posted a scorecard from the championship on Aug. 2, which claimed Trump winning by 10 strokes with a net score far superior to any of his opponents. When handicaps were factored in, the president won by a single stroke, but the result came days after he was accused of cheating on the course.
Trump has spent 20 percent of his second presidential term playing golf, but was accused of cheating when playing in Scotland last month. A video that appeared to show Trump’s caddie dropping a ball near a bunker went viral, leading to claims that he is helped during golfing rounds.

President Trump is an avid golfer who has loved the sport for several decades. Trump once famously claimed, “I’ve played a lot, and I’ve played well. There are very few people who can beat me in golf.”
While Trump has vast experience on the course, personal claims about his ability have been disputed. In 2015, The Washington Post conducted an investigation to determine whether the former real estate developer and businessman was a serial golf cheater.
Former Sports Illustrated managing editor Mark Mulvoy accused Trump of cheating in the mid-1990s. Mulvoy claimed that a storm interrupted their round, and once it had passed, Trump’s ball was suddenly spotted 10 feet from the pin.

“Who the hell’s ball is this?” Mulvoy claimed to have said at the time. “That’s me,” Trump replied, and Mulvoy instantly suspected foul play.
“Donald, give me a f—ing break,” Mulvoy reportedly said. “You’ve been hacking away in the . . . weeds all day. You do not lie there.”
Mulvoy then claimed that Trump admitted to cheating. “Ahh, the guys I play with cheat all the time. I have to cheat just to keep up with them.”
Years later, Trump was asked about Mulvoy’s account and denied the claims. “I don’t even know who he is. I don’t drop balls, I don’t move balls. I don’t need to,” he said.

Sportswriter Rick Reilly has also accused Trump of cheating, and once said: “When it comes to cheating, he’s an 11 on a scale of one to 10.” Ahead of the 2025 Men’s Senior Club Championship, Reilly called Trump out on social media.
“Hey Trump, tomorrow is the Senior Champ at Bedminster. Are you shameless enough to pretend you won it? Even after the whole planet saw you cheat in Scotland? Is your ego that sick,” Reilly wrote.
Trump previously responded to Reilly’s claims and said: “I always thought he was a terrible writer. I absolutely killed him, and he wrote very inaccurately. I would say that he’s a very dishonest writer.”
