It’s set to be another drama-filled competition as the PGA TOUR returns to Greensboro with the final opportunity to qualify for the Playoffs for some and retain membership for others. Presenting itself as the curtain closer to the FedExCup regular season, the Wyndham Championship is hosting plenty of star talent who are looking to finish the regular season strong. Matt Fitzpatrick arrives at Sedgefield Country Club as the odds favorite, with Keegan Bradley and Ben Griffin trailing just behind. All three are looking to challenge returning champion Aaron Rai as he aims to be the first player to go back-to-back at the Wyndham since the 1950’s. Fan favorite Jordan Speith is back in action and too will be looking for an impressive finish to the season. Alongside these stars are other notable players such as Hideki Matsuyama, Max Homa, Tony Finau, Adam Scott, and Rickie Fowler.

Sammy Valamaki from Finland here at 17. 400yd par four. 153 yds. Come on now. This feeds all the way back and he makes it all the way from Finland. Semi Velamecki. [Applause] Let’s get out to the action on the ninth. Third shot for Tony Fen out of the par four. Hello f now putting a charge into the gallery. His first birdie location on that front portion of the green projected at 119th. Took a pretty good divot out of that one. He’s going to use a slope. Oh, he’s not going to use a slope. He’s going to bank it off the Oh, this is getting better. Oh, coming off the slope. You got to be kidding me. Tracking. tracking. Did he? I meant to do that. Young Aer Jackson Quin made the cut here. Oh. Oh, Matt Fitzpatrick now for birdie over at the 13th. He rolls it in and made a birdie at 13. How about a long range birdie at 14. Swinger right to left. Oh wow. Fitzy Nico at Chevaria. A chance for Birdie. See currently 61st. So he’s in the playoffs. George, he’s trying to get into that allimp important two top 50 which would be the BMW because that guarantees you signature events next year. Jackson Kovven, one of the hot rounds going on this front nine to get to 10. Greens rolling around 13. That is gorgeous. His last two starts on the PGA Tour. Top 15s for the youngster. Finding his footing out here. Four birdies. His first nine holes. Great line. All over it. What a shot by Cameron Young. See the forearms both on the same line. Young burries it. Momentum saving par on one. That’ll give him some juice on the third. His first bur. He’s at 16 under. The lead now four. They have really turned it on the last couple years there. He has turned it on as well, especially this week. Oh, out of Oh my goodness. The weight ball. [Applause] Take it out. Look at this slow motion right here. Let’s see if it flies in and then comes out. Oh, it hit the flag then came down in the ball mark right there. Could have done a lot of weird things. That’s where it’ll speed up. Great view there. That will speed up. Did speed up to go to the hole? Oh, yes it did. How about that? Cameron Young is rocking. Six shot lead. This group to close out. Joel Damon needs one. Just a horrendous start. This is his first birdie putt of the day. At least he’s one for one. Putts per green and regulation stat. Very good today. Again, he’s got to watch his spin. [Applause] Good work. Day one. This is the club that saved them. They had about 20 ft apart. That’s well done. Risner pouring it in. Kovy now second shot here. Balls above his feet here at 13. Location on that front portion, front left portion of the green. Should come off the slope. There it comes. Oh, it’s getting better. Did he? Oh, everybody’s screaming. Oh, and he’ll have that left for birdie. All right, go even now. is for birdie at that beautiful wedge shot in here at 13. Aha. Nice bounce back after the bogey. The previous hole. A good birdie. Buckets. Is this the week he gets his first PGA Tour win? Looking good so far. Four in a row, 19 under and an eight- shot lead. Meanwhile, the top ranked amateur in the world is Jackson Koven playing this week with the pros and he’s now tied for second in the tournament. Two-time winner on the PGA Tour. This a side winder from his left to right. Not many putt it better than this man, Frank. Oh yeah, there you go. His last win last year at the Zozo. Gary Woodland. This is the definition of setfield. Setfield country club right here. Massive breaker from right to left. All right. Oh, he needed something like that. That card was starting to get really twisted with the bogey bogey double bogey. Now they get a little reprieve here at 13. Chris Kirk. Just a little tickle with a wedge front left hole location. Excellent shot. It’s one of the few holes under 400 yards. Now Chris Kirk much shorter part. Same score though as Thompson. Look at that 63. Good move for him. Very soft. As we go to 12A just inside at 20 ft. Slight movement to his right. Nico. Okay. Nice bounce back after the bogey at 11. Colt, did you get a look at Nico’s part? It is downhill rather quick and a move to his left at the end. How about another one? Oh, it’s rather good, too, isn’t it? So, a little challenge starting to be mounted. Three birdies his last four holes. Well, the defending champion, he was going good. Had a finish this morning, but a double bogey at 16 derailed him. He’s fighting back. Oh, did he skull that, Frank? Uh uh. That ball skipped forward. I think he sculled it and it’s worked out perfect. No. Come on. [Applause] has become one that players really enjoy. I know there’s pressure here so many careers and we’re really going to go with it. Let’s go to 13. And Joel, man, that shot 61 on day one. You’re so right, Jim. It’s like a family in this area. And to save here, Frank, at 14 after a horrible first putt from 75 ft. And this one back up the hill breaking just a little left. There you go. Fill it up again. Now defending champion Aaron Ry. Only three birdies all day here. And Aaron Ry finds the bottom of the cup. Birdie birdie at 1314. And then Nico’s the closest chaser. This is good. You said the lead was eight. When he makes that, the lead is four. Walking together in victory up in Minneapolis St. Paul at 15. That is a birdie to get it to 14 under par. Laid back off the tea. 154. Some helping win that. A pitching wedge. And Ian, this has some potential. Oh, nearly went in twice. Cole underneath. Not over to the ninth. Ricky’s final hole of the day. There he is. 63rd. Wonderful shot. Throws a dart at the ninth. There’s Meisner after getting a drop. This will have a little go and a little left to right in it. Oh, this could be good. As we come back to 18, Varia has about as flat a lie as you can ask for here at 18. This is a pitching wedge all over it. Oh, you’re not kidding. How about this? Birdie’s not that abundant at 18. No, it slides in and he gains another shot. Yeah, look way out there to the right. Could it be his time? Well, his uh his caddy Kyle Stvinsky will play a pivotal role too tomorrow to keep his man calm and positive. Look forward to it tomorrow again 3:00 Eastern time on CBS streaming on Paramount Plus. Ian, you ready for one more dance? Yes. Looking forward to uh my last dance tomorrow. Thank you all. Thanks for watching the PJ tour on YouTube. To watch another video, click here.
