Hey, we are at Preswick Country Club on the Myrtle Beach Golf Trail. We got Ryan here, head pro at Preswick and we’re going to play a little match. Jerry Carrie’s going to caddy for Ryan. I’m going to use the Tangent app and the AI caddy. We’ll play one hole, see who can come out on top. Let’s do it. We’re going to have some fun with this guys. Going to have some fun. May the bitter man win. Oh, absolutely. Be fun. It’s going to be fun. Absolutely. Let’s go and do it. All right. I should play. Keep drawing. You got a spot. Yeah. I was being spot being a little safe. Like it is like 18th of saw grass, right? You worry about that. It definitely is. Quick one. Oh, the new elite. Nice. Little staffer. Little staffer. Oh yeah. There it is. That’s really nice. You’re off to the races. Both of you down the middle. New job here having fun, huh? It’s It’s awesome. We actually have no members. We’re fully public. So, Oh, really? We get a lot of visitors that go to the campground. They come out and play us part of their part of their pack. Absolutely. Well, the best part, you got the bar right up top. People come sit on the balcony. They’re heckling. Yeah. They’re It’s like being on a PJ tour. Yeah. Yeah. The heckle starting. All right. Let’s see. We’ll take a look at what uh Tangent’s got us. This is a par five. And if I take a look at that, it’s telling me that 3wood would be aggressive. I can’t quite get to the green from here. We’re about 280 out. And it being wet, it’s not going to go anywhere. So laying up makes the most sense. And I’m thinking five iron. So four hybrid. We’ll actually take one less than that. Look at that dispersion. I’ll hit that five iron. Should set me up for a good little wedge. See if we can make birdie the hard way. Those bunkers look uh diabolical. Ain’t going to hurt you. Like that. I think a good solid 100 in. It’s up on that back tier. You don’t want anything of a small shot trying to get into it. You want a full shot going into that back pin. Sweet swing. Beautiful golf swing. That should be perfect. You had any hole in ones? I’ve had one. It was actually out here. Really? So it was obviously not on the hole. You just said that there’s only one. No, no, no, no, no, no. You would have told me. Oh, no. Got 86. 86. A good shot. Just a touch deep. Not bad. How are the greens? They soft, firm, and I got the rain. I’m assuming they’re going to be a little bit on a little more on the soft side. All right. Good shot from Ryan there. So, I need to put one up there. See if we can get a shot. Just hugged the fairway just barely. We have a back pen. So, we’re going to change that in the tangent app about 83 yards. We just tapped that, made it a back pen. That changed our caddy adjustment. So, we want to follow his lead and just try to get something on that back tier. Anything in the middle of the green, get a birdie putt. Skinnier than I wanted. Bite, bite. Oh no, we’re in big trouble. Caught that a little fin off of that lie. And we’re gonna be in one of these awful bunkers. That’s not what I wanted to do. This is a Pete die PB die design. So, of course, with Pete, you get these wild bunker complexes. It’s a little wet. We got a lot of rain today. And uh I was maybe a little too conscious of trying not to hit that one heavy. Famous grass bunkers. Okay. Yeah. You know, sometimes you go through all the strategy and say, “All I need to do is get a putt,” but then you have to execute, which I didn’t. Key thing here is just to make sure you get on the green and don’t compound the mistake like that. That’s an example of compounding mistakes. You make the one mistake, now you’re scrambling. This is one of those do whatever you want and hope it just gets onto the putting surface and not off the side. I know what I do. Yep. Absolutely. Grab the putter. Oh boy. It just gets hung up. It did. It bounced. It’s always the fun part. 18 ft here to save face with the bogey. Straight up the hill. Went for it. Meat on the bone. Knock it in there, Ryan. better way. Goodbye. Thank you, sir. That was enjoyable. Absolutely. That was a great time. Dallas time, man. That’s right. Get me on that one. Absolutely. Talked myself into that, but uh tough course. Good hole. Uh good plan. That was fun. Thank you. All right, so match is over and obviously Ryan won with nice par. I make a double there. But the mistake that I made was was not the shot in this grass bunker. That is a tough pee dye type of grass bunker when I hit it back there. The mistake, the reason I made double is from the fairway. You’ve got a back pin here. You’ve got all this room on the green. I get just a little bit aggressive. Catch it maybe a groove low. My ball landed on the green and ends up there. Ryan hits a pretty aggressive shot. A good shot. Better contact for sure, but we went about the same distance. He misses the bunker. And it’s a difference between a really, really difficult shot and not the easiest of shots. But you’re not making double from from where you were right at worst you’re just three shots a mile. But so most amateurs, most golfers are going to make the mistake I made and they’re going to be beating themselves up thinking about short game and getting out of that when really the mistake was back there. You got to work on the ball striking. Find a way to get on the green. You’ll minimize mistakes and Tangent will help you do that. That’s awesome. All right, thanks. See you next time. I love it.
