Let your hands fall — not fire early (Slow Motion) #golfswing

  1. In this video, you’ll see how Sergio Garcia lets his hands drop vertically at the start of the downswing.
It’s a move that looks simple – unfortunately, it's not — but it changes everything.

That feeling — of the hands falling straight down — is something you want in your swing too.
Because when your hands drop first, you set yourself up to accelerate naturally through the ball.

But when they move too early toward the ball, all the usual issues show up:
    -Early wrist release
    -Over-the-top path
    -The dreaded chicken wing

And that combo leads to inconsistent, weak shots.

    Here’s how to train it:
Stand in front of a mirror, make a backswing.
    Let your arms drop.
Only when your hands reach hip height, then swing through with speed.

    It takes some time…
But once you feel it, you’ll never want to swing any other way.

  2. He doesn't 'let them drop', he simply activates his left leg – more precisely his foot – to start his downswing, thus he keeps his arms, hands, and body synchronised, doesn't get over the top, and retains all the power he generated on his backswing. Watch and learn, don't jump to hasty conclusions.
