• The range tweak that unlocked laser-sharp irons
• Taking advantage of receptive greens for a run of birdies
• The key putt that flipped momentum on the back nine
• His FedExCup bubble mindset heading into Moving Day

“Once the first one dropped, I felt the round could really take off,” says Rodgers after signing for a seven-under 63 (confirm official score).

Let me know when you’re ready. All right, Patrick. So, just nine under your last 15 to make the call. What What’s going through your mind right now? Um, I’m really proud of myself. Um, it’s been a dreadful summer. Um, I haven’t felt that far off, but the results have been. Um, it’s been a couple months since I’ve played a weekend. um which I obviously never saw coming and found myself squarely on the bubble starting this week. Um it’s hard not to feel uh pessimistic and down about it. Um but uh yeah, I’m really proud of myself that I kept believing in myself when it didn’t look very great. And um yeah, hopefully that golf the last uh last three, four hours is a really good springboard because I’ve been working my butt off. What do you think clicked? Um, there’s definitely a level of um your back can be so far against the wall that you just have nothing to lose anymore type of feeling. Um, like I said though, I’ve been working my butt off. My iron plays got a lot better. Um, how I ended up in that position was kind of pretty unlucky the the first um 21 holes of the tournament. Um, but I’d be lying if I said I was super optimistic in that position. Um, but it was great to just see it all come together. Um, I’m really grateful. What was your Did you look at the numbers into the week of your position on the FedEx Cup? How how aware were you of where you stood? Yeah, super aware. Like I said, it’s never a position I thought I was going to be in starting the summer. Um, but you know, at the end of the day, it’s uh it’s part of being a professional athlete and a competitor and um you know, it it it’s sucks to be on the bubble. I’ I’d love to be comfortably in, but um this is the the rush of playing competitive sports. So, it was uh looking me square in the eye there for for a moment. When’s the last time you felt as good after a round as you do right now? That’s a great question. Um nothing comes to mind. I feel pretty damn good right now. Is that would it be like when you got your card at the KFT finals four years ago? Yeah. Yeah, that you know some something like that. Obviously, it’s not not quite that much at stake. Um but definitely I could draw back on that experience. Um so yeah, this game it’s uh it’s crazy. It takes you through the ringer and um it’s been beating me up pretty good. So it’s nice to get on the positive side of one today. was and after you make two bogeies in your first three holes today, like what was going through your mind at that? Frustration at that point to be honest. Um I made a made good swings and made two bogeies to start the start the day today. Obviously I needed a good round and I knew that I did. Um so yeah, I was pretty frustrated on the 12th T, but um the only option from there is to try to make some birdies. And there’s a lot that can happen this afternoon, this week, but you’re safely inside the cut line. And how important did you feel that making the cut was going to be to your Honestly, more than just the playoffs and all of that. Um, I’ve been working really hard and seeing no results. Um, I’ve missed a bunch of cuts in a row. The probably the most I’ve ever missed in my career in a row. Um, so just to see some good golf based on that hard work is more rewarding than any of the playoff stuff. So to play that stretch of golf when I really desperately needed it, I’m um very excited about. What are you looking forward to from the next couple days? Yeah, it’s a great opportunity. It’s like I said, it’s been a while since I’ve played a weekend. Um I’m incredibly excited and I’m going to be super freed up. So I I I can’t wait to carry this good golf through. Awesome. Thanks, Patrick. Thank you. Appreciate it. Great plan. Facts.
