MARQUETTE, Mich. – Head coach Ben Johnson and the NMU men’s and women’s golf teams have announced its fall slate of tournaments for the 2025/26 season.

“We’re looking forward to getting started, and I know the team is eager to get back to work,” says head coach Johnson, who is entering his second season as head coach of the program and third season total as a coach with the ‘Cats. “We have some exciting young talent coming in this year, and we can’t wait to get started.”

The women open the season at the Saginaw CC for the Cardinal Cup, hosted by SVSU, on September 8 and 9 in Saginaw, Michigan. The men open their season a week later, traveling to Big Rapids, Michigan, for the Bulldog Fall Classic at the Katke Golf Course hosted by Ferris State, who finished 1st in stroke play before falling in the match play semifinals at last year’s GLIAC Championship. The Bulldogs finished 8th at the NCAA Super Regional Championships.

The women and men then travel to tournaments hosted by Wayne State, once again a week apart. The women compete in the Warrior Invitational in Washington, Michigan at The Orchards GC on September 22 and 23, while the men compete at the Motor City Shakedown in Dearborn, Michigan, at TPC Michigan. Wayne State’s men’s team is the reigning GLIAC champions, and both the Warriors men’s and women’s teams advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

The final week of the fall season comes to a close within just a few days, as the teams travel together for two tournaments less than a week apart. They first go to Lemont, Illinois, to compete in the Flyer Fall Intercollegiate at Cog Hill GC, hosted by Lewis University, on October 6 and 7 before the fall season comes to a close in Augusta, Michigan, at the Panther Invitational for a tournament that acts as the GLIAC Championship preview. With tournament play running from October 11 and 12, the women play at Stonehegde North and the men play at Stoatin Brae, a pair of golf courses just five minutes apart from each other.
