It's a style for short, aggressive fighters, the Rocky Marcianos and Joe Fraziers in history, like Patterson and Mike, but it's too demanding and risky also. Mike couldn't hold it for long, neither his idol and mould Jack Dempsey.
My theory is that defensive and tactical fighters have longer and more succesful careers, unless you retire early like Marciano did, wisely

I think the two main things that made his style so effective was his size and mentality. You can copy the style but you need to have the same mindset as mike to punch a hole through his opponents. His frame is smaller than most fighters he fought so it was easier for him maneuver around blows.
