Adam Hadwin and Ben Silverman shot matching 2-under 68s on Friday and appear to have missed the cut by one stroke at the PGA’s regular-season finale at the Wyndham Championship.
Adam Svensson is currently on course and is now the lone Canadian with a chance to see the weekend.
All three golfers would need to win the tournament, at minimum, to get inside the top 70 and qualify for the three-leg FedEx Cup playoffs starting next week.
Hadwin, of Moose Jaw, Sask., came into Thursday’s round in 134th place in the FedEx Cup standings, while Silverman, of Thornhill, Ont., entered in 163rd. The likely missed cut has dire consequences for both as not only have they failed to qualify for the postseason, but they will also lose their chance to get inside the top 100 to earn Tour cards for full exempt status next year.
Players who finish from 100 to 125 on the FedEx Cup standings will retain conditional status, meaning they will have limited access to Tour-sanctioned tournaments, while those outside of the top 125, Hadwin and Silverman included, will likely not be seeing starts at many of the stops on the calendar in 2026.
Svensson is currently one spot in front of Silverman in 162nd, but a made cut and strong finish over the weekend could see the Surrey, B.C. native earn either full or conditional status for next season.
