    For those wondering:

*Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a colorless gas with a distinct “rotten egg” odor, known for its toxicity and flammability*

Honetsly surprised Texas would mandate any kind of public safety warning…. unless this place is just doing it out of the goodness of their heart.

Is there a paper mill nearby? …. That H2S “smells like money” for us mill folk 🤑

Midland? Odessa? Hogan? Greentree? Ratliff? Seminole? Andrews?
Grew up in the area and still have family there, thought I’d pretend I knew a little something. LOL

NVM, just saw the sign. Pecos.

Are we playing golf, or fighting in the trenches?

    > Turmoil at the front,
    > Wilhelm’s forces on the hunt.
    > There’s a thunder in the east,
    > It’s an attack of the deceased.
    > They’ve been facing poison gas,
    > 7000 charge en masse.
    > Turn the tide of the attack,
    > And force the enemy to turn back.

Friendly reminder from your local chemical engineers – if you smell H2S you’re probably going to be okay, if you stop smelling H2S you’re in trouble

Played a course in west Texas. Only ones on the course. Saw a dead deer on the fairway next to us. Then when we got to that hole it was gone.

Coyotes or something got to it quick. It wasn’t the club house cause we asked at the end and they had no idea

  9. Chipped-Beef

I’m forced to carry a similar sign at course I play.

There is a muni near me that was built on a landfill and it also has H2S warnings. On the soccer field nearby years ago a ball went into a sinkhole and a woman pulled out a lighter to see it and grab it and set off a CH4 pocket.

Do they have multi gas meters mounted in the carts?

Do you get a lot of roll out on a West Texas course?

So glad I got the hell out of West Texas when I got out of high school. Best decision I ever made.

Does the clubhouse have SCBAs and 4 gas meters to rent?

  18. eaglered2167

So like the golf course definitely has sensors to let you know when it becomes dangerous right???

  19. n0t_4_thr0w4w4y

Something smells like rotten eggs, and it ain’t my short game

  20. saltytrey

    So where are we playing?

Well, the course is okay, but we might die.
