A trio of Princeton women’s golfers are set to compete at the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur August 4-10 at Bandon Dunes in Oregon.
Catherine Rao, Olivia Duan and Sarah Lim will all represent the Tigers at the event, giving Princeton three out of the 156 competitors in the field.

Rao, the 2025 Ivy League Player of the Year, has reached the quarterfinals of the last two U.S. Women’s Amateurs, and she enters the tournament as the No. 67-ranked women’s amateur golfer in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Duan, the 2025 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, qualified into the event by finishing second at a qualifier held at La Rinconada Golf Club in California. She is currently ranked 220th in WAGR and is coming off Round of 32 finishes at the Western Am and California Women’s Amateur.
Lim, who has competed at the U.S. Women’s Open and the U.S. Girls Junior Championship already this summer, reached the Round of 32 in match play at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur. She is up to No. 635 currently in WAGR. Lim earned her spot in the field by winning the NGCA Women’s Amateur earlier this summer, and she recently reached the Round of 64 at the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship and the Round of 32 at the California Women’s Amateur.
The full field of 156 players will play 36 holes of stroke play over the first two days before the field is cut to 64 players to start Match Play on August 6. The 36-hole championship match is scheduled for August 10. The tournament will be broadcast on Golf Channel starting with Match Play on August 6.
The winner receives a gold medal and custody of the Robert Cox Trophy for one year, exemption from qualifying for the 2026 U.S. Women’s Open at The Riviera Country Club, in Pacific Palisades, Calif., exemption from qualifying for the next 10 U.S. Women’s Amateurs, if eligible, an invitation to the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, likely exemptions into the Chevron Championship, AIG Women’s Open and Amundi Evian Championship, their name engraved on 2025 USGA Champions’ plaque that will reside in the USGA Museum’s Hall of Champions in Liberty Corner, N.J.
