RUGBY Golf Club’s ladies have reached the semi-finals of the prestigious Taskers Trophy in a stellar showing from the club’s golfers.
The team of Liz Twynholm, Judith Pegler, Susan Jones, Sarah Green, Helen Cole, Susan Graham and Deborah Harrad remain in contention to lift the Burtoft Trophy.
Competing in the women’s inter-club competition, Rugby’s ladies beat Burton-on-Trent five and a half to one and a half to book their place in the semi-finals.
Rugby have beaten teams from Charnwood Forest, Longcliffe and Chesterfield en route to the last four.
The semi-final of the national competition will take at a neutral venue.
The Taskers Trophy is a team knockout golf competition for men and women aged 50-years-old and above.
And the competition aims to donate up to 100 per cent of teams’ entry fees towards junior golf.
And Rugby players Jones and Pegler also recently picked up prizes in the Warwickshire County Ladies Seniors Championships.
Both Jones and Pegler won gross prizes in their respective divisions.
