We just launched our brand new SFO2 wedges and I already did a video in the studio talking about the new technology in these wedges and showing you some numbers on the Trackman. Today I’ve brought the wedges out to the golf course to show you some realworld performance. Now, for me, when it comes to wedges, the three most important things are spin, feel, and versatility. So, that’s what I’m going to cover today. Let’s get started with spin. All right, we got a full shot with the 54°ree SFO2 wedge, and I’m using Prov1’s here. [Music] [Music] Realistically, just about every wedge is going to spin on a full shot like that. So, not really that impressive. Let’s check out some other shots. [Music] [Music] [Music] So, yes, they spin. But now, let’s talk about feel. Now, this one’s more subjective because, well, you can’t feel through the video. So, I’m just going to describe what I feel when I’m hitting these wedges. If you’ve hit a lot of different premium wedges, you may already know that most of them these days aren’t forged, they’re cast. The SFO2s are also cast. What I’ve noticed hitting different premium wedges is they have a distinct almost clicking sound and solid feel off the face. It’s not hard by any means, but you get an immediate auditory and physical response that lets you know if you hit the ball clean. That’s exactly what you get with the SFO2s. When I’m hitting a chip shot or a partial wedge shot, I can also feel the friction between the club face and the ball as it’s creating spin. It’s a really satisfying feeling because you know when you hit the ball how you want to that it’s going to check up on the green nicely. So, what about versatility? The SFO2s have full face grooves. What that means is that you have more control on tow down chips, chip shots out of the toe of the club and when you open the face, more grooves, more control. I also misspoke in the previous video where I said that the V grind on our wedges has less bounce than the F grind. Technically speaking, the F grind actually has less bounce than the V grind, but that’s not how it plays because of the grind. So, let me explain. So, the V grind, you can see here, 12° on the 58 and 10° on the 52. But you can see with the V grind, it’s ground down on the toe, on the back, and on the heel. Whereas the F- grind is not. What that means is that when you open the face on these clubs, the V grind is going to keep that leading edge closer to the ground, meaning you’re less likely to thin or blade the ball, whereas the F grind is going to elevate the leading edge when you open the face. So, the V grind just has more versatility in those places, even though it technically has more bounce. A little bit confusing. All that to say, there’s a lot of versatility with these wedges. [Music] Now listen, at the start I didn’t mention looks is one of the super important things, but I mean, let’s be honest, they look phenomenal. And yes, I’m biased.

Great Review of the SF002 wedges Tim. When is Takomo going to offer me a Senior discount? I turn 72 years young on August 30 and should be recovered from my July 3 prostatectomy surgery by then. Looking forward to hitting the links to work on my wedge game. Be Well Buddy!
I have the 52F on order. I'm hoping it ships and gets to me soon!
Hey Tim, how do I get that hat? Would look great with my 101T's and new wedges!
I got the 48F and 52F in the BB803s I elevate these more and get much better spin than My 101T PW and 52 Vokey They hop and stop on level and uphill shots into the green and allow a slightly more aggressive shot taking on a downhill pin , Wesley and George did really good on these with Your Team, Super easy to hit, They are measurably lighter than Vokeys so it takes a minute to get used to the feel change.
I have the original sky forger wedges was considering upgrading and wanted to ask how these new wedges compare to the old ones?
So when will the new irons and driver be released
They look great I was looking forward a new one I think I will try this
I ordered the 50/54 and 60 sf002 wedges , used them today for the first round with not one practice shot as arrived at course and I had to tee off straight away , omg they are mustard , unreal , my approach shots all was birdie putt range . On the first hole on my course is a par 3. I used my 50 degree and had a nice birdie putt, but the most impressive thing was the green keeper came over to me and said the spin on that shot was awesome , he said it landed 20 yards past pin and zipped back , I really am impressed,
I didn't have mine for more than a week before I made the first hole in one with it. I love this wedge, it is the most used club in my bag after the putter.
WHERE IS YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE??? I’ve attempted to reach out almost every day for a week! Super frustrated.
Regretfuly my 002 wedge got lost or stolen by UPS and then they discarted the package so it was never delivered. I’m talking now in July. I have sent numerous emails to Takomo and nothing… So I asked Amex to reimburse my $138 and go after Takomo for the money !!! And so that’s the way I decided to buy from someone else. Nevertheless, I do own a set of Takomo clubs which I currently use and really play better with them ! Higher apex and longer distance… True story !!!
How many golfers will be able to make any difference between those wedges and SM9 or 10 for example ? Keep your money to take 1 or 2 hours of golf lessons playing wedges and your score will more surely improve than with new clubs IMO.
