Thanks for tuning in to another episode of WGC Fits. Today we are going to be looking at the newly introduced and launched Mizuno Pro line of wedges. We’re going to be looking at the S3 and the T1. We’re starting off with the S3, which is a really, really cool wedge. Um, this is kind of the more, let’s say, slight cavity back version of this. Now, we’re not talking about a traditional cavity back wedge as there have been in the past. This is more or less um think like your players cavity back irons, right? This is something that blends really nicely with something like that. Why would you use a player’s cavity back wedge? Well, there’s a couple things. One, it’s going to offer just that slight forgiveness that a little bit better perimeter weighting offers. So, a slightly better kind of window in terms of slight missits. So, better on the huzzle. Yeah. I mean, it’s perfect for a guy like you, you know. Here’s the thing I actually really like though. Um, looking down at both, I actually prefer the S3 to the T1. Let’s see. I actually think that the S3 looks like near the perfect wedge. They’re very similar, though. This one just has a squared off um Mhm. leading edge. Yep. It’s the shape. It’s all the things that I want to see in a wedge. I like the square. I like the squared off edge. I like everything about the way this looks. And then it feels really good. Wow. So benefits again just slight perimeter waiting so that slight window of forgiveness um but just really good performance. Give me a number uh between 115 what it’s a 54° so yeah give me 90 to 115. Okay 112. Well they’re testing the forgiveness real quick. You got to play already, boys. All right. 112. Hold on. Elbows. That wasn’t the Hoszle. That was close. There we go. Much better. It feels pretty good though, doesn’t it? Yeah. Here’s what I love about this wedge. You know that I’m a bit of a Wow. 138. Here. Can you unnormalize? Okay. 160. That’s better. You know that I’m a bit of a stickler for launch condition on wedges. Yeah. I love the way this wedge launches. Specifically this S3 like that one. Yeah. It’s like 25° on a full shot. That’s beautiful. That wasn’t a full shot. I tried to hit that 105 yards. Well, that would 102. 102 to 105. Darn it. Um, but good. you know, yeah, this is definitely something that I think, you know, through fittings and through the first kind of, let’s say, month or few months that we’ve had these, um, it is definitely locked into that like lower launching category for me and becomes something that I kind of gravitate towards pretty much in fittings pretty well. It’s very, very good. That’s my That’s my full shot with this thing. Perfect. Yeah. 119 yards. Let’s give me a 90. Okay. Now, with this offering a little bit of forgiveness on that cavity back window where this thing shines so much, cuz we’re not talking about tons of forgiveness, you can miss it still, right? Um, it really is like a player CB style iron. Um, but with that having a touch more help, let’s say, than a straight bladed wedge, this offers a full window of sole and grind and bounce options. So, this lets you have everything that you would need to play all the touchyfey shots, all the green side kind of little finicky shots. Um, just like any other wedge, you know, there’s no tradeoff here in that regard, which is why this is a such a good such a cool club. Um, you could throw this thing down, get flop shots with clubs that got somewhere in the realm of like six degrees of bounce. You can, you know, be a guy who hits down on it pretty good, get yourself up in that double digit 10, 12, maybe even more window of bounce. Um, again, it’s just it’s just good good for all conditions and that kind of stuff. There’s no real tradeoffs. It’s kind of like the perfect blend of everything you want in a wedge in my opinion. I’m liking the feel of this thing. There’s and the feel is awesome. You can’t you can’t go bad with the feel. Um, plenty of shaft options available, right? Just like anything else with Mizuno, they offer a very good variety of shafts and grips that are available at a no up charge. Um, you know, from a fitting kind of perspective, this thing’s like the dream wedge because it does everything well and nothing bad. So, there you go. Pretty good. Now, let’s switch it over. Let’s try the T1. But I like this one. Well, it’s a good one. You got to try the T1, though. Oo, in my shaft. All right. T1. More uh traditional wedge. I don’t know. There’s a There’s some mass up here. There is, but what’s that reminiscent of? It’s not the first time we’ve seen wedges that have a little bit more mass trying to get that center of gravity a little bit higher and off the face. Right. Great feeling, great launching, right? Overall, this is another just really, really good wedge. Um, not that I have anything bad to say about this one. I just have so many good things to say about the other one I don’t want to take away from this one. This one’s fantastic. I think I like the feel of this one in the center more. Yeah. Again, that’s that’s what that bladed design is going to offer you, right? It’s going to allow you to be just a little bit more confident with what that striking that feels amazing out the middle. Mhm. Really good. You’re not going to be missing out on any performance for a full shot, let’s say. Um, you know, same thing. Tons of ability to kind of work the ball and kind of be in control of what’s going on in terms of your actual launch condition. This is just a really good solid wedge, right? I I definitely don’t want to, like I said, take away from how good I think this is because this also falls into that lower launching category. They’re also doing a lot of very clever things out at Mizuno in terms of how to to get the center of gravity where it needs to be to make the launches happen the way they need to happen. That launch low. Very good club. Yeah, but you cheated on that one. What? You cheated on that one. Tried to hit I tried to do that. I know. You tried to hit it low. I did. You cheated, but it went low. No, I It’s good. I’m playing. Um, very, very good. I would I would assume these would launch lower with my golf shaft. Yeah, they would. Right. Again, neither of these are set up like perfectly for you, but it just goes to show you’re still at 31, right? Like I’m not mad at 30 30.8 launch on a wedge that’s not set perfectly for you. No, I take it. It looks fine. Mhm. They’re just good, man. You definitely got to give these a try. Mazuno is absolutely killing it with the wedge game this year. They really did offer, in my opinion, one of the best ones out there. And this thing’s going to be around for a long time. That’s what I can tell you. So, in terms of colors and stuff, availability, the T1, you can get your your chrome, your black, or your blue, which is pretty cool. And the T3, I do believe we can only get the chrome. Um, but again, doesn’t take any. The T3 sick sick sick wedge. Like I said, one of my favorites. It’s nice to have a forgiving wedge for players. Yeah, exactly it. Right. Cuz again, when we’re looking at this, we don’t want it to be, you know, a shovel, right? We want it to be something that still looks and fits the bill, but it’s nice to have a little bit of help. You know, who doesn’t need a pat on the back every now and then, you know? I do. I do. You know, you guys should see Ian on the golf course. It’s just constant. You come on, keep going, guy. You know, you’ll be okay. you know, just constant just I feel like a cheerleader out there, you know. All right, you guys definitely got to check these out. Again, the Mizuno T3 slight cavity back wedge, T1 more uh players kind of like say traditional bladed wedge. Both are fantastic. Um definitely give them a shot. Definitely give them a look. We can fit you for both of them here at Windmill. Um go give them a shot. We’ll see you later. Thanks for watching.

  1. Morning AJ,
The only thing I see is the spin nos. Are very low for a wedge, put alittle water on that, and ur control is gone.
Keep up the good work, love intel.

  2. I have a t24 that is pretty good, but after trying a raw finish for the first time i hate it and am looking to replace sometime in the near future. These look enticing.

  3. Just got some Mizuno Pro 245's and thinking of a set of T-3's to replace my Jaws Raw set. Never liked the raw face but love the nice square leading edge. If the T3 leading edge is similar then I'm sold!
