What is up the lines fans? It’s your boy Motor City Don P back once again. And you already know what it is when you see me on your TV in front of your screen. Whatever screen it is, whether it be your mobile phone, whether it be your your your laptop computer, your personal computer, your television, your phone, wherever it is you are watching me from. First of all, I want to say I appreciate you for taking your time out and giving me a look. See, um, what is that? What up though, Dwayne Fulmer? Um, but one thing is for certain, three things are for sure. Number one is that the Motor City Cats are indeed back at it. Number two is that we came to give you stats and not none of that static. Number three, and perhaps the most important of all, number three is we want to make sure you keep your Lions news pragmatic. And you may be asking yourself, how how don does one such as myself keep my Lion’s News pragmatic? Well, it’s very simple. I’m glad you asked. Thank you. The answer is very simple. It’s a three-part answer. Smash the like button, subscribe, and share. And you can do it in any order that you want, but just like make sure you did it. And once you have shared it, then you’ve basically kept your Lion’s News pragmatic because it keeps a, you know, it keeps everybody up to date. It keeps everybody a breast, if you will, as to what is going on around this illustrious fan cave that we got in the background here. Um, and you know, we do what we do. So, let me go ahead and get into it. As I said, what up do Dwayne Fulmer, shout out. appreciate you dropping by, coming through. I’m gonna try to get through this one. Uh, your boy stomach is doing all types of flips and turns, but you know, I I bring it here for the people. So, not feeling the best, but we going to get through what we can get through, and we going to do it the way we do it. All right, so today we’ve got some training camp notes. Um, primarily we’re going to be looking at Tim 20man because Tim 20man is one of the best. um out there. They had a scrimmage today and everyone got after it. Everyone did their thing. There were things that uh there were sides of the ball that was dominant. There were players that were dominant. Um and we’re going to get into all of that, but first and foremost, this is something that I forgot to get to and it is a long time ago maybe, but I’m going to get to it. Uh remember the NFL PA situation? Yeah, JC Treader gone. Okay. All right. I told y’all I said they should probably leave it till next off seasonason, but I also did say that it was an untenable situation and the players really needed to step in and say JC Treader and whatever the other dude’s name is. I always forget his name. Lance Howell, I think it was. Lloyd Howell. Okay. JC Treader and Lloyd How are no longer. They are both gone. Okay. So now there needs to be new management, new leadership, um, as far as the NFLPA. Um, and it needs to be people that are actually going to hold the NFL accountable. It needs to be people that are actually going to have the players best interest at heart. And it needs to be people that are actually going to fight for these players. Okay. Uh, shout out to the players. Kudos to you all for stepping in and saying absolutely not. Absolutely not. You will not you will not represent me anymore. Not a single other day for Lance Howell or Lloyd Howell. And maybe that’s it’s it’s a sign. I don’t need to remember that man’s name because he’s such a snake. But if for Lloyd Howell and JC Treader to do what they did in, you know, negotiating and not in good faith at all and negotiating in bad faith and and trying to serve their own personal agendas and I don’t want people to to to hear me bad mouthing Russell Wilson and I some high school stuff, bro, for them to engage in the type of activities that they ga engaged in and to still have a job throughout the season. Yes, that would have been Malfence. So, shout out to the, you know, the underboss leadership in in the NFL PA who said, “Y’all got to get up out of here, bro.” Obviously, the capologists, they, you know, they said, “Hey, you know, we we’re releasing statements.” It was all cap cap cap cap and more cap. The capologists themselves crafted those statements talking about they had the the the players best interest and all these other things. Cap from top tier capologist. Okay. You are a capologist. You are a liar. You are a cheat. You are a snake. You are a thief. You are in a way Osama bin Johnson. You know I didn’t throw that out there. But again, uh, we’ll move away from that a little bit more around the league stuff. Again, I did pick this up when it happened, but I didn’t say anything about it. Shamar Stewart, okay, the Bengals wised up. I think they gave him a fully guaranteed contract. Uh, 18 almost 19 million. I think it was 18.97 million, something like that. Um, I’m guessing they removed that morality clause and they, you know, they came to the table. I was really hoping that they didn’t wise up. so that he could reenter the draft. Um, so it’s still just Bo Jackson that has that that has happened to. Only Bo Jackson in the history of the draft has re-entered it. Um, and been drafted by another organization because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who drafted him originally, did not want to allow him to play baseball. All right. Uh, Taylor Made Media, what up though? Let me pop this chat out so you know, you know what it is. I I don’t like to be sitting up there looking at the chat like, you know what I’m saying? I got I got about three cars. I got one in the shop. You know what I’m saying? That got I’m waiting for some payments for my workers cuz you know I got to pay and I got that thing. You know what I’m saying? Talking about looking like a old Detroit pimp trying to read this chat. So I don’t like to do that. So let me pop it out and get to you. All right. What up though? Flying Hawaiian. Um, tailor made media says, “Remember the NFL is still an old boys network. I don’t know how the NFL PA gets down, but nobody was looking for him on Park Avenue yesterday.” No, sir. Uh, yeah. So, that is terrible. Um, obviously if y’all don’t know what he’s talking about, someone um I think he killed four people trying to shoot up the NFL headquarters, blaming it on CTE, never having played in the NFL. Um, sick sick individual. Okay, I don’t know. Um, yeah, that that’s all the information that I have, but but it’s crazy. Um, you said you sound just like my cousin. Well, your cousin must be a cool guy. He must be a cool guy. All right. Um, so let’s go ahead and get into what we got today. You might see me take a sip of my kombucha. Okay, it is not a 40 oz. Okay. Um, contrary to popular belief, it’s not even popular, is this one jackass. Um, who once told me who once told me that he I had to to run my guests by him because he didn’t know who I knew and he didn’t want people smoking weed and drinking 40s on stream. Now, some of you might understand how racist that is, and some of you might understand not how understand how racist that is, but yes, this was told to me by some jackass fool uh that I used to to to deal with. So, again, I have all the receipts. I have the paper trail because dumb asses do dumbass things and they record themselves doing it again. At some point, one day the files will be released. I don’t know if they’ll be re they’ll probably be released before the the famous files that everyone wants to be released. Uh so this is this is kombucha. Okay. You see kombucha? I told you my stomach is doing flips. So that’s what it’s for. So if I Mhm. Okay. Not a 40 ounce. Do not drink. Do not smoke. Do not do any of that. Okay. Uh. Um, and I got Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Cuz Okay. Yeah. I got three cars. You know what I’m saying? I got one in the shop. You know what I’m talking about? I got, you know, you know what I’m saying? Got I’m waiting for one of my workers to get what I’m saying cuz I got to get, you know, I got my my 76 Camaro. You know what I’m talking about. Um, it said or it’s a 40 oz with a fake kombucha label. No. Uh, I’ve never even held a 40 ounce. I don’t drink. Um, all right. Let’s go ahead and get to what we got to get to. We are talking about um this scrimmage, man, because that’s what everybody wants to talk about. Uh the Detroit Lions will not be practicing tomorrow. Obviously, tomorrow for you guys is Wednesday, okay? And the game is on Thursday. So, um just some updates from Dan Campbell. Tyreek will not be playing, nor will Tate Rattlage be playing in the Hall of Fame game if you guys did not know that already. That is the situation. Um, they’re projected to be starters and you’re not going to see starters playing in the Hall of Fame game. Um, so you’re going to have Henden Hooker, um, who was the backup quarterback today. He’s going to be, you know, um, with the first team offense in the Hall of Fame game. Um, yeah. So, you’re not going to see anybody at all. So, that’s what the purpose of the scrimmage was because you got to get those guys some reps. And that’s what Dan Campbell was saying. We want to see what it is. We want to see what they’re doing in live game action, so to speak. Live game action. It’s not scripted. It’s just full go. Um, there was a point system for the for the defense to score points, and we will get into all of that. Um, all right. So, starting off 10 20 men training camp day eight observations. Okay. So, day eight of training camp. Again, there won’t be a day nine as far as practices. The next time you see these these these men I was going to say these boys. Next time you see these men put pads on, it will be Thursday night 8:00 PM Eastern Hall of Fame game in Canton. Oh, hell no. Um, if you’re going to be down there, uh, shout out to you. Hope you have a good time. Don’t drink any of the water. Do not fratronize with any of the locals. It is, oh, hell no. They are all slack jaw yals. You don’t want to go down there doing anything. So, just be safe. Get in and get out. Enjoy the festivities. Um, you know, you know, the Hall of Fame inductions, all that stuff, and the speeches. Enjoy all of that and and then go wherever your hotel is. Go straight to the airport if you flying or get straight on, you know what I’m saying? 75 and head back to Detroit if you’re driving. All right, so 20 men training camp day eight observations. Um he starts off with dominance day. The team took part in a live scrimmage Tuesday at the Meyer Performance Center. Uh giving the majority of the reps to the starters and key reserves who aren’t expected to play in Thursday’s preseason opener. The undisputed star I’m thinking, you know what I’m saying? With undisputed Yeah. You know what I’m thinking when I say undisputed. All right. The undisputed star of the scrimmage was edge rusher Aiden Hutchinson. He recorded three third down sacks to end drives and hand uh and had what would have been another quarterback hit and multiple pressures throughout the scrimmage. Hudges has looked like an even better player to start camp than the one who was on his way to being a defensive player of the year candidate before the injury last year. So, shout out to Agent Aiden Hutchinson. That is weird. But he is the Wolverine, right? That is the nickname that we gave him right here. Okay. On Motor City Cats, cuz I’m the nickname guy. We got the Wolverine. We got the electrician. The electrician, baby. Um, that’s uh that’s pretty much it. That’s pretty much it for now. Um, but he’s got adamantium bones, right? He’s got adamantium adamantium in his leg. Um, he’s got super healing powers. Uh, he’s he, you know, he’s got the hair. He’s got the little the beard. He is he is the Wolverine. I’m just saying. You know, Michigan man, you know what it is. All right. Uh, important piece. Offensive coordinator John Morton is going to do everything he can to get the ball in Jamir Gibbs hands in 2025. you know, put some respect on my name. You already know what it is. All right. Uh, deservedly so, as he’s a terrific young talent at running back. But don’t forget about veteran back David Montgomery with the offense struggling early in Tuesday scrimmage. It was Montgomery who gave them life with some tough and explosive runs to move the football. Montgomery said he’s entering the season with a chip on his shoulder. Morton might look to get both backs on the field together some too. Montgomery is still a very important player in this offense. Um so on that note, they have they have released an unofficial depth chart and they have Jir Gibbs as the backup running back. I understand like depth charts are kind of an antiquated situation these days especially when you’re talking about running backs because a lot a lot a lot of teams I think pretty much every team is running some variation of a two back system um you probably should be putting running back 1A and running back one B cuz a lot of them are going to play equally except for if you look at like a Saquon Barkley the guy the other guy is definitely your backup. If you look at Derrick Henry, the other guy is definitely your backup. But in this situation, when you look at Jamir Gibbs and David Montgomery, these two players are not equally talented. They’re both extremely talented, but Jir does some things that David can’t do. Now, David can bust off a 75 yard run. We saw that before, but he can’t do it as quickly as Jir Gibbs did it. and we saw Jamir Gibbs do it against the Tennessee Titans. Both of those runs looked very different. Okay. Uhhuh. J Mo was running down the field trying to create a little convoy for David Montgomery, a one-man convoy. As skinny as he is, that’s why another reason you got to love Jameson Williams. And I will keep as the official keeper of the J Mo, I will always remind you that you got to love that man. um running down the field, blocking, taking out two players at the same time for David Montgomery to spring him for that 75 yard. Jir Gibbs, however, hit the corner and was gone. He didn’t need anybody else to do anything. Okay, once they didn’t get that angle, it was good night Irene. As I said, all you need to do is turn around and walk to the sidelines and go have a seat next to your DC. Okay, that’s my thing. Okay, if you hear anybody else say that, especially a damn fool that wears wigs and blue sunglasses, it’s stolen from me. Okay, I’m taking shots. I am taking them. I don’t care at this point. I could give less of a damn if there was another damn to give. Okay. Anyway, that’s my thing. Okay. when they got behind Jamir Gibbs and he hit that corner, go to the sideline, sit down next to your DC, okay? Have a snack, get a donut, you know, cuz you going to need your sugars. You’re going to need to keep your energy up cuz it’s going to be a long night or day whenever whenever the game takes place. All right. So, um, yeah, I would like to see just a different system moving into, you know, 1A, 1B type of situation. Just like I mean, a number one and a number two receiver. The number two receiver is not a backup, right? He’s he’s he’s important, right? He’s going to be on the field just as much as your number one wide receiver. Uh, especially depending on your defense or your offense. But, you know, just food for thought. All right, let’s move on to let’s see what you guys got to say in the chat. Um, Telmay Media says, “How is David Montgomery carving up the Dline off tackle?” Uh, yeah, that wasn’t mentioned. You know, who was out there was uh Dan Skipper. Obviously, Dan Skipper was taking the place of um Taylor Decker. So, I would think that um he’s carving up the D the Dline. Um probably off tackle with Pane Su on the right side. Probably running between Tate and and Paneu because again, Tyreek Williams was getting manhandled by Tate today. Okay. Okay. And he admitted it. Okay. They asked him what was his is his welcome to the NFL moment. He said it was today. Tate got him. Okay. And I told you before that he and Tate, this is not like the first time they played against each other. As much as Georgia and Hell no State played against each other in the college football championships and tournaments and playoffs, all that stuff. No, they played together. They played against each other before. So, um, if you want to see what’s happening, probably go back and watch one of those games and zero in on what Tyreek did against Tate Rattlage. Um, but that’s probably what’s happening. Also, I mean, Christian Mahogany got him today, too. So, yeah, he’s he’s having a rough go at it. He’s having a rough go at it. Uh, he’s not quite a McNeel yet. Um, Flying Hawaiian says he’s done it. Who has done what? Uh, Bob Bass can go inside, outside, just they each are better at one or the other, but Monty can definitely go off tackle. Yes. Right. They both have um they they both can do the same things but as you said one does one what one does some things better than the other and the other does some things better than the other. This is why um they are so complete and they complement each other in the way that they do. Um, it’s not just, okay, Monty is the slugger, right? Uh, and he’s the he’s the the bell, not the bellcow, but he’s the the grinder. Okay, pause. And um, you know, Jamir Gibbs is the home run hitter because Jir Gibbs can run between the tackles just like Monty can run between t not just like, but you know, um, he he is the sledgehammer, right? Jamir Gibbs is not the sledgehammer, but he is he’s a hammer, right? He can run between the tackles and punish you for it. But the thing that he can do is he can run between the tackles and immediately snatch your ankles like immediately snatch them. David Montgomery’s got some wiggle. You know what I’m saying? He’s got some quickness, but he’s not an ankle snatcher. Okay. A sugar cookie. Man, this is crazy. I’m a rapper. I’m not a sugar cookie getter. Okay. All right. Jamir Gibbs is an ankle getter, right? He will snatch your ankles and put them in his collection. So, uh, very good backs to pair with each other. That’s why it works so well. That’s why there’s Sonic and Knuckles. Um, which I still don’t love. Okay, I still don’t love it. But, you know, David Montgomery needed, you know, he needed a nickname himself. You know, Jir Gibbs is forever going to be the electrician. I don’t want to call David Montgomery the plumber, you know, but you could, you know, but it is what it is. All right. Um, let’s see. Moving on to the defense. the defensive day. The defense was awarded two points of for every stop during the scrimmage and they began the morning with a 100 zero lead before the offense started to get it going and finish the day with a couple touchdowns. Okay? So, if you’re keeping score and doing math better than what I do, okay, if you were here yesterday, you know, you know, if you don’t, you don’t. You have to go watch yesterday’s show. Um, but you know, 10 points, that’s five stops. Okay, 10 to zero, that’s five stops without the the Lions offense really doing much of anything. Um, plumber lay pipe. Pause. Uh, yes, we’re going to pause that one for sure. All right. Um, uh, uh, oh, Taylor made me, you might want to you might want to plug your ears. Here it comes. Okay, so they had a 100 lead before the offense finished with a couple of touchdowns. Hutchinson had three sacks. Linebacker Jack Campbell had a sack and safety Brian Branch was all over the place with a sack, a quarterback pressure, and a pass defended. Anthony Pitman, Trevor Noski, and Pat O’ Conor had sacks for the second team. Uh the offense may have finished ahead on the scoreboard at the end of the day, 16-2, but the defense was the story of the scrimmage. Now, obviously, you’re going to finish ahead of the day because the defense only gets two points, okay? They can only score two points at a time while the offense can score six. Okay? Or they can score eight or they can score seven. You understand what I’m saying? So it is it is lopsided in favor of the offense. But for it to be 12 or 16 to 12, it was um dominated by the defense. Okay. It was dominated by the defense. Um, there was something else I had, but it slipped my mind. It’ll come back if it was important. Uh, the defense was a story of the scrimmage practice report. Secondyear quarterback Terion Arnold left the scrimmage early and is being evaluated for a hamstring injury. Um, from what I heard, it wasn’t anything serious like he didn’t need to be carded off or he didn’t need to be helped off in any way. He walked off under his own power. Um, so probably just a little tweak of the hamstring. Something didn’t feel right, so he was like, “Yeah, I’m not going to uh push this further.” Um, all right. Let’s see. Flying Hawaiian says, “Our offense always seems to start a new season slow facts.” Okay, now I remembered what I was going to say. Thank you, Flying Hawaiian. Um, who was second team QB if number 95 got to him? Probably Kyle Allen. Well, no, no, probably H. It was Hinden Hooker. Hen Hooker was your backup QB today. Um, I’m thinking of I’m thinking of uh Thursday when they’ll play. Hinden Hooker will be your starter and uh it seems as though Kyle Allen will be the back the backup. Um, here was my question. I’m I’m seeing all this. Aiden Hutcherson had three sacks. Now, two of them were uh versus Pul apparently. Okay. Apparently, um Aiden Hutchinson has been giving Paneu work this camp. So, that’s one thing. The other thing that I’m saying, now I know Dan Skipper was starting in place of Taylor Decker. Is this cause for concern or is our defensive line doing work? Is our defense just doing work? That, you know, uh, Aiden Hudson had three sacks, Jack Campbell had a sack, Brian Branch had a sack. All these people getting sacks means they have to go through the offensive line. Is this a cause for concern? I want you guys to tell me what you feel in the chat. I I’m I’m not going to lie to you. I’m a little bit concerned, but it is camp. It’s not real football. Like, it’s real football, but it’s not like, you know, it doesn’t count. So, camp and preseason not real cuz it it doesn’t count. But I’m a little bit concerned. I’m not gonna lie to you because we lost Frank Ragnau, we lost Kevin Zitler, and now we giving up sacks left and right. So, I’m a little bit concerned, okay? I’m a tempor I’m I’m I’m I’m not going to have this raging fire of concern because it is the preseason and it is training camp, but we’ll see. Flying Hawaiian says, “No, Hutch has been improving year after year. He’s played Paneet countless times. Okay, that makes sense, right? They know each other. He knows what Pane likes to do. He knows, you know, Pane knows what Aiden likes to do. Where my weed at? You know what I’m saying? Because apparently that’s what black people do. They they smoke weed and drink 40s on stream. on stream. Um, Telm says, “I think Sheps got his side of the ball fired up. Maybe he’s exposing the O early.” Um, another thing. Okay, this is a little bit of confirmation about what I was saying yesterday. Remember yesterday I was saying that when we hear things about Chep, we are not we’re not hearing these things because they’re different than AG. We’re not hearing these things because AG didn’t do these things. We’re not hearing these things like, “Oh, you know, Shep does this. He has an open door policy, but AG, you know, he was a grumpy old man. Get off my lawn. He would never open the door for us.” No. Uh, and that was that was confirmed by Brian Branch and his media availability when he said when they asked him about coach Shep and the first thing he said he said, “Well, you know, Shep is coming with the same message as AG, so it’s not different.” Okay? And as I told you, I think the difference between AG and Shep is Shep is always on, right? AG would sometimes be a little bit mellow, you know, but Shepherd, you can you can tell when he’s talking to the media, he’s very he’s it’s like controlled. He’s controlled with his amped up amped upness, if that makes any sense. Right. You can tell like you you can tell that switch is on and that fire is burning while he’s talking. uh even if he’s talking in a normal way. Uh I think that’s the difference. I think he’s just a little bit more intense than AG. I think Shep is always on and AG was a a switch a switch flipper. Um Dwayne Fulmer says, “I am not too concerned yet that Hutch got beh got better and plus Hutch uh has really was really training all along. he was trying to get back in time if we got to the Super Bowl. Right. So, that’s the thing about Hutch. It’s been non-stop training. Um, you know, rehab, rehab, rehab, train, train, train, train. So, he really hasn’t slowed down. Um, you know, it’s like Johnny Mo in a way where Johnny Mo didn’t take an off season. He just stayed in the lab scouting the defense trying to figure it out. Amplification says tailor made media. Um I don’t I didn’t want to use that word. I I I created a word. What did I call it? Amped upness. I I think that I think that that sounds more like who or what he is. Amped up in this. Okay. Um Shep’s a younger man closer to being a player. Um, mellowess comes with age. Um, true, true. You do kind of mellow out as you get older. Um, except if someone cuts you off in traffic, but that’s a that’s a different story. That is a different story. Um, all right. So, let’s get back to the practice report. So, we have first TD drive. After a punt missed, field goal punt and punt to start the scrim. The to start the scrimmage. Okay, sorry. After a punt, missed field goal, punt and punt to start the scrimmage. The first team offense put a nice drive together on their fifth possession. The drive featured two first down catches by wide receiver Amaras St. Brown. A first down catch by tight end Sam Laapora. A nice 10-yd run for a first down by Montgomery, which set up Montgomery, which set up Montgomery, punching it into the end zone from a couple yards out to give the offense their first points. Quick turnaround. Veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick talked to the media Monday and said he was disappointed with how he was playing early in camp. Uh he said he felt great physically and had a good spring, but hasn’t been having the kind of impact he expected early in camp. Well, a day later, he put the offense ahead of the defense in the scrimmage with a nice touchdown catch in the quick in the back of the end zone. Uh after Jared Goff rolled left out of the pocket, that’s the kind of impact Patrick is looking for. Um I did listen to that sound. I don’t know what was going on with Timmy P’s voice. Timmy P, as Taylor made media said, is 44 years old. However, he did sound like a teenager going through puberty. It was voice cracks everywhere. I don’t know. Maybe he just had maybe his throat was dry. Maybe he needed to drink a little bit of water. Um, and moisten moisten up the the pallet. Pause. When I’m talking about moistening a throat when I’m talking about a man. Pause. A pause. A pause. Pause. Pause. Lots of pauses. Okay, I understand that. But I’m just saying it was hard to listen to. So, I hope he’s he’s he’s okay. Um, not coming down with, you know, type of illness or nothing. Uh, but it Yeah, he he needed to get a little bit of water. Maybe some kombucha. You know what I’m saying? maybe something um to clear that throat up cuz yeah I was like you know how sometimes you know some somebody has a th a frog in their throat and you’re listening to them talk and it makes you want to clear your throat come on Timip [Laughter] that’s how I felt but um this is what I was talking about yesterday when he he said in that little media availability he said he hadn’t had an offseason in 3 years. Okay. So, all the physical work that he was doing uh and all that um it’s it’s no longer, you know, rehab. So, now he’s here. He’s didn’t have a camp with the team last season, right? He was coming off the injury. Now, this is his first full camp. He said it’s a lot more intense than what he expected. Um so, he’s got to get used to that. He’s got to get used to the physicality and the speed of Lions camp. Um, but I think he’ll be fine. He’s a veteran. He was with Johnny Mo in Denver. Okay, so remember that, right? Um, he was there. Okay, so last year was Johnny Mo’s I think second year in Denver because he he was a passing game coordinator um with Bo Nicks was doing his thing. So Timmy P was there before. It might have been I don’t think it was his second year. It might have been more than that. because Tim Patrick’s been out, you know, for a while dealing with those knee injuries. So, yeah, he said he’s not really surprised by anything that um that Johnny Mo is bringing in because he’s seen it before. And also the fact that Johnny Mo was here when we were tailoring this defense or this offense um to Jared Gaw. Uh what up though? Here’s Johnny. Guess who’s back? Back again. Johnny’s back. Tell your friends. Guess who’s back. Guess who’s back. Guess who’s back. Guess who’s back. Um, Mega Hustler uh 313. What up though? So he says, “MC on 97.1. Both Rockco and Stony were hating on the Lions hard.” Um, you know, I don’t know what goes on in 971. I don’t really listen to them, but you know, at some point at some part, okay, we we gota we got to get the the uh the so stuff out of here. Okay. It’s it’s it’s a natural inclination for people not to want to get their hopes up. I get it. But when you’ve seen it for now, we’re going on four straight years of seeing this thing change. We didn’t 313 and one wasn’t great. Jared Goff wasn’t great. from 313 and one you went to nine and eight and you missed the playoffs because you you pooped the bed against a more abundant Carolina Panthers because you probably thought that it was in the bag. That was a learning that was a learning situation. And it was a teachable moment for the coaches to let these people know, you don’t ever let your foot off the gas. From 3131 to just missing the playoffs at 98 and 9 and 8 to going to the NFC Championship game and being literally 20 minutes away from the Super Bowl to going 15-2. Yes, you crapped the bed against the Commanders in the divisional round. 15-2 number one seed in the NFC by-week first round buy. If you want the Lions to, I don’t know, come back down to earth, if that’s what you’re waiting for, you should stop because at this point you look silly. Okay? And there’s a lot of people that want to be out here like, “I told you so. I told you they were going to suck. I told you this, that, and the third.” There is a there’s a commenter, some of you guys know this commenter, and I’m not going to say his name. Um, he’s like in the Woodward Sports chats all the time. I’ve blocked him. I have been blocked on multiple accounts. The man is a Detroit native that hates Lions fans. Now, the man will be a Pistons fan and a Tigers fan all day, but he hates Lions fans and he and he calls them out of their name, calls them idiots and all this stuff for being a fan of the football team. This is so at its core. At its core, a person that wants Listen, I don’t like the sport of baseball. I don’t like it. Like I to watch it. I think it’s boring. I don’t like it. If you like baseball and you love the Detroit Tigers, I don’t see a reason to try to poo poo on you and oh, the Tigers will never be such and such. That’s just misery talk. Is a miserable person and engaging in misery talk. This is what so is. Let the Detroit Tigers win a World Series. I will be like getting money. Yeah, you know what it is. All right. Don’t like baseball, but it’s my team because it’s my city and I’m a fan of the team. Okay. I didn’t really used to be in the soccer until my son started playing and I’m really I don’t watch soccer. I I I’m too late in the game to find a team to follow. But Detroit City FC, right? Let them win the MLS getting money. You know what it is, right? Cuz that’s my team. That’s my city, right? So all these so fans, man, we need to stop listening to them. We need to stop giving them a platform and we just need to tell them to wake up, bro. Now, that doesn’t mean you have to be a slappy. Y’all know I’m not a slappy. If I see something wrong, I’mma talk about it. We talked about the pass rush all off season. We talked about Marcus Davenport and him not being able to stay healthy all off season. And shout out to Marcus Davenport because from what I hear, he’s dominating camp. And like I said yesterday, I’m so glad to see him actually participating in camp. He’s in the scrimmage. He’s in the, you know, the team activities. He’s not sitting over riding a bike wrapped in bubble wrap like he was last last training camp. And then they still couldn’t keep him healthy. I’m not even going to say throughout the season into the season. He didn’t even get into the season. He played game one, missed game two, got injured game three. He didn’t even get into it. Right. So again, appreciate you Mega Hustle 313. That was a small little I had to go ahead and give that to you. But if you’re if you’re an So fan, for what, man? You know, you’re gonna miss the moment, right? You’re going to miss that guy. Let’s say the Detroit Lions win the Super Bowl this year or they win it next year or whatever within the next three years. I better not see that dude saying nothing positive about about the Lions because I will create a new account just to go and freaking poop on him. Be like, you don’t get you don’t get to say nothing about the Lions and their success and their winning and Lombardi. Shut your mouth. You shut your damn mouth. Okay. All right. Um let’s see. Brent Dit says the ticket can lick it. Um 97.1 here. Johnny says 97.1 propaganda plus equals propaganda plus click baiting uh # arrogant klucks. Flying Hawaiian says did Carlos Monz retire and cook up something with 97.1 and Woodward? Possible possible. Um, here’s Johnny said, “Play baseball since 65. AYSO soccer is better for youngsters in my opinion. Everybody plays.” Um, yeah, my son is 13. He’s really good actually. Um, so he’s improving and everything. So, watching watching kids play soccer is is is amazing. Like the skills that they have, it’s amazing, right? Is an amazing thing. So, shout out to soccer, man. I will never dis disparage soccer again. Um, I’m there every Sunday. I don’t miss a game. Never. So, yes, very into it. What my son is playing. Um, we had permanent bench riders on the pine forever in those days. Um, Flying Wise says, “Yeah, but I always love baseball and hate soccer.” What up though, JRrod16? Where you been at, buddy? Where you been at, JRod? Um, hey, like like I said, just go watch some teenagers. Pause. Okay, pause. I’m not I’m not saying no Chester the Moleer stuff, but go watch some teenagers play soccer. It is It’s amazing the skill that they have at a at an early age. It’s It’s an amazing thing. So, all right. Um, let’s get back to these things. We did the quick turnaround. All right. Bates morning. Kicker Jake Bates was missing a few field goals left in warm-ups before the scrimmage and that translated over to the scrimmage as Bates missed his first two attempts from 54 yards and 51 yards wide left. Bates last field goal attempt from 60 yards was right down the middle with room to spare. So, you just got to get him. Okay, you got to get him back further. I was gonna say something which was very possible. This is very possible. I was gonna say you got to get him deeper. Pause. Okay. You got to get him to move back further. 60 yards, 70 yards, that’s his range. Okay. He needs to be at range. Don’t try to get him up close. Just Hey, if if you 60 yards away, stop and and make it a bait kick. All right. uh third tight end. One of the position battles to watch coming into the camp was the third tight end role behind Leaport and Brock Wright. Uh through the first eight practices, veteran Shane Zilstra has shown to be a consistent volume pass catcher for the second team offense. There’s still a long way to go um in that competition, but Zilstra’s had a nice start to camp. So, I’m guessing he’s beating out Kenny Boy. Yeah, boy. Bang, bang, bang, bang. Okay. Anyway, that’s my love going bang bang bang. Uh, if you know, you know. Use the hashtag. I I don’t want to talk about the third the third tight end position. I the position battle. I don’t I want to do it. I don’t care about it, bro. It’s the third tight end is generally going to be your special teams guy. Um, and he’ll come in if someone gets injured. We know that uh Sam Leorter was banged up last season. So, I guess it’s it’s somewhat important, but it’s the third tight end. Um, you know whose name I did not hear? Everyone was having this dominant day on the defense and the defensive line and so so on and so forth. Whose name I did not hear was Brick Martin. I did not hear anything about Martin. I haven’t heard anything good about project Martin. Shout out to Derek Lion Syndicate who believes that Martin will not make this roster. I believe that Martin will be on the practice squad. I do not think he will be on the 53. Um, if he does make the initial 53, I think he will get bumped for cuts coming from other teams. Um, working like a Mac, a machine. Okay. I was like, what’s a Mac hind? I’mma act like I know what it is. Yeah, Mac Hinds, baby. You know what I’m talking about? They be working all the time. I have no idea what anyway. Uh, um, JR says, “Please send him packing.” Um, I I think he I think he does. I I think he goes listen this was a golden opportunity for him to come in. Ali McNeel is not going to be there. I don’t know when Mai Wingo is going to be there. He probably won’t start the season. Um, you know, Roy Lopez dealing with a little hamstring. It’s not nothing serious, but Brick Martin had all the opportunity in the world to get in there and make a dent and make an impact. Just didn’t do anything. He didn’t do anything. Like I have I’ve I’ve heard nothing good about project Martin. I’ve heard good things about Henden Hooker. Okay. I’ve heard I’ve heard good things about Henden Hooker. I I’ve heard that Henden Hooker is, you know, doing okay in camp. Okay. Initially, he started off as a third team quarterback. Now he’s a second team quarterback. Okay. Initially, Kyle Allen had the leg up on him. Now he’s got the leg up on Kyle Allen. I’ve heard good things about Hinden Hooker. I’ve heard nothing good about Brick Martin. So, it’s unfortunate, but I believe Brick Martin will not be too long for this roster. Again, he is probably going to be a practice squad guy. He needs development. You know, Bradick Martin’s problem is probably still standing straight up. He needs development. Okay. Um he’s a super big man in all this stuff, but he just needs to, you know, he needs to improve his technique. Um will Lions win a game without Ben Johnson? Um guys, Ron Wardski is a Bears fan. Just remember, Ron Wardski is a Bears fan. Osama bin, okay, is y’all’s problem. Okay, since you brought it up, uh, Albert Brerier was on Rich Eisen and he was talking about all of the people in the Bears organization, all of the players that are in place to really take a major leap. However, Caleb Williams has a ways to go. That was his assessment of the team. Okay. Albert Brer is doing a training camp tour. He did the Lions on day three. Okay. Um he said the day that he was with the Bears. Said they’re trying to get Caleb to drink from a fire hose. Uh they’re throwing everything at him and it ain’t working out. It’s not working out too well. He said Case Keenum and Ty and and Tyson. Is it Tyson Badant? Tyson or Tyler? I think it’s Tyson. Okay. Anyway, he said both of the other quarterbacks look better than Kayla Williams. Your second and your third string quarterback look better than your number one overall pick from last year going into year two uh training camp. That’s not good. That’s It’s not good at all. I just want to let you know this. So, Ron, good luck to you. Um, I will be keeping a breast and keeping up to date on what’s going on with the Chicago Bears, just as I will attempt to keep up to date with what’s going on with the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings. Because as I said, it’s kind of my job to bring you guys information, not necessarily about the division, but for me to be knowledgeable about the division. I’m not just going to sit here up here. Ah, speaking of which, I just want to Yes. Are y’all ready for this? Are y’all ready for this? Mike Tannenbomb. At some point, I want these people off of television because it just gets ridiculous. Mike Tannen Bomb put out a list of NFC quarterbacks and said Jordan Love was number one. I tell you, kombucha is an acquired taste. It’s not great. Jordan Love was the number one NFC quarterback on Mike Tannen Bomb’s list. Remember Mike Tanabomb said something about trading Jamir Gibbs and three first round picks for Miles Garrett? This the same guy. Take his microphone away. I mean, you just become you just become a a a a clown, bro. Like, what are these takes? And I’m not even m I’m not even mad at the take. I’m not I’m mad that he has the ability to make it. You are a former GM. You will never get another GM job ever. Any team that hires you, jackass fools. I’m not mad at the take because the take it doesn’t warrant any discussion. It it it is the type of take where you look at it and you be like this [Music] this month here, right? And you just go on about your day. The take doesn’t make me angry because everybody in their mother knows it’s untrue. I think Packers fan probably knows it’s untrue. Okay, I can’t give them that much credit. Okay, they probably don’t know it’s untrue. The fact that Mike Tannon Bomb has a platform is annoying me now. Just take him off the air, bro. Take him off the air. We don’t want to hear from you anymore. Just stop. You’re a clown. You You You are a clown. You are a circus clown. And you believe that you work in the circus. You work for ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports, self-proclaimed, and you are a circus clown. You think you work for Ringling Brothers? Take this man off TV. Anyway, let me see what y’all are saying. Um, all right. Got got to get a lot of comments to get to. Okay. Um, Wilkins or Raycoin? I I heard some things about Wilkins. Uh, let’s just say Wilkins a little bit sus. I’m just going to say little bit sus, a little bit handsy, little bit gropy, you know, apparently uh trying to kiss dudes in the locker room. Pause. But I don’t know if that’s the kind of guy you want to bring in and he’s not going to be a distraction. Okay, I to each their own, but we trying to win a Super Bowl. We not trying to kiss and grope teammates. No. That’s not what I’m trying to do. Um, my suggestion is for Brick Martin to Broadick Broad Brick Wall Martin to change positions and learn to play on the O line. Uh, that might work. That might work. I don’t know. Uh, Manu’s got no snaps either. But for Manu, we’ve heard the improvement that he’s making. We’ve heard, you know, we’ve heard something. You know, he was out in in Arizona all off off off season uh with Taylor Decker, you know, um training in his facility and all these other things. So, we’ve we’ve heard about some development. We’ve heard about good things that are happening and everybody knows they’re like, you know, Manu came from college in in Canada. Okay. it it you know so coming to the NFL from college is a is a challenge in itself it’s a learning curve in itself imagine coming from college in Canada to the NFL so I think he’s right where they want him to be I think he’s right where they expect him to be as long as he’s making progress Martin doesn’t seem to be making any project pro progress at all and that’s the problem um Taylor Decker said Manu is a physical beast and will be a starter in the NFL. Exactly. Um Usama Ben Johnson equals Matty P. Total L. He might be. He might be. Um another guy, Skipper needs to go practice or somewhere else. He is taking a roster spot that we could use. Uh I don’t know. Well, I think Tipper uh Skipper is uh he’s a utility guy and you kind of need one of those guys that can play every position on the line and and and can plug and play and fill in. Um and I think that’s what they like about him and of course his work ethic, you know. So, I don’t know. I don’t know if if if that would be the case. Um Flying Hawaiian says it’s not bad either. How many years did Steve Young wait to play? four or five. Um, yeah, but Steve Young was behind a guy that’s in a GOAT conversation. Um, Taylor Mayus is Albert Beer. Didn’t he go to Oh, hell no. State. He’s a reporter. I don’t know where reporters go. I don’t know where reporters go to school. The only I know Adam Shfter went to Michigan. And the only reason I know that is because in his office he’s got a Michigan helmet behind him all the time. So I know he went to Michigan. Um we can all agree FGB. We can’t and all agree. We can come by on that Ron. Um 40 of Colt 45 all over there. See you you missed the beginning. Uh here’s Johnny. Uh, someone and and and JRod can appreciate this. Someone told me once that if I wanted to have guests on the show, I needed to vet the guest with him because he didn’t know who I knew. And he didn’t want people on the show drinking 40s and smoking weed live. This is what he told me. This is the type of person that man is. So, I’m not, you know, JRod, I’m sorry. I’m slinging mud because it’s got to be done. It’s got to be done. Um, Mad Talk 2020. Um, Ron Warski, you know, you were doing fine, okay, until you said you hate the Packers more than the Lions. You’re not going to get any support over here. Like, just tell them you hate the Packers the most. You know, this is how you do things. You can’t come kumbaying and try to poop on the team. Like it it doesn’t work. I’m not going to go into a Bears chat and try to kumbaya with Bears fans for anything. But if I did, I wouldn’t be over there like, you know what? Shout out to you guys, man. Cuz I don’t hate you as much as I hate the Green Bay Packers. I It doesn’t work. Um Skipper is the first alt tackle until Manu develops enough facts. Um, Flying Wine says, “It’s cool. I hate the Packers more than the Bears.” I was told Matthew Betts was Hall of Fame bound. He was not. He’s He’s probably going to the CFL CFL Hall of Fame, which shout out to him. You know, being in any Hall of Fame is good except if you’re in like a very auspicious hall of fame, like Registered Offenders Hall of Fame. You don’t want to be in that one. Uh, but sports sports. Yeah. Um, I hate the Vikes most of all due to Fran Harington beating Lions for years from late 60s to mid70s. So, as a as a person that was not alive at the time, I don’t know your pain, but I know you know Aaron Rogers and Brett Favre. Yeah, they were doing the same thing to us um in succession. Um, Fran the Man and the Purple People eaters, they should have been a rock band. Well, good thing they weren’t Super Bowl winners either. Uh, what up to Tactical Sport? What I miss was at the gym. We’ve been talking about uh we’ve been talking about project Martin and how he’s probably not going to be on the team. I know that you would you would appreciate that. Um, Todd Spork says, “I equally hate them both.” Oh, okay. Uh, updates. As I said, um, Terion Arnold went out with a little bit of a hamstring, nothing major, did not have to be carded off, did not need any assistance, walked off under his own power. Um, probably felt a little bit of something and probably just shut it down. Um, speaking of of of these people, okay, so uh Kirby, if y’all don’t know, has a little bit of uh knee inflammation, but they’re planning to have him back on Saturday, so it’s nothing serious. I I mentioned Brian Branch earlier. They asked Brian Branch about in his reg. I’m not going to poop on and it’s just like I didn’t poop on Terion. But the thing is we saw Terrion play. I understood what Terion was going through as a rookie quarterback. Inis region Branch said was very telling. He said, “Oh, when he’s on the field, you know, he’s good. He just got to stay on the field.” He said, “Physically, you know, he’s got all the tools, but it’s like mentally we gota we got to help him. We got to prop him up.” Blah blah blah blah. when your teammate says when you are on the on the field you are good but you just need to stay on the field. This is your second year in the league. Your teammate said that about you. Your teammate who is not on the other side of the ball or who’s in another room. No, he’s in the same room and you guys are in that DB room. your teammate, one of the leaders on defense, now he’s not a rahrh guy. He’s not a a big vocal leader. One of the leaders on defense says, “You just need to stay on the field.” And Ray Straw’s injury history is something that I talked about when we drafted them in the pre-draft process. And I’ve been consistent. I’m always consistent. I will flip-flop in his RA straw. He needs to be in camp. He got he got a a chest contusion by colliding with a player when they weren’t impacts. Right now, it is regrone until he proves otherwise. And that’s just that that’s the bottom line. We that’s it, right? Lion King says Allen over Hooker Thursday. No, it will be Hooker. Hooker will be um your starter on Thursday. Um, so yeah, in his race needs to stay on the field, man. That’s that’s that’s I can’t say anything else about it. You know, it last year he got hurt in camp hamstring something and he dealt with that for a while and then he was dealing with something else throughout the year. This year he gets hurt, got a chest contusion. You know, it’s it’s you can’t make the club in the tub. You just can’t. Uh Ron Renarski says, “I’m a new sub.” I’ve seen you before, Ron. Did you un Did you unsubscribe and resubscribe? I know who you are, Ron. Uh um say he’s at a gym doing beer crack girls. Am I streaming during the game Thursday? Yes. I don’t know how much. Um I I’ll probably try to get the first half. Um, and then I’ll have to stab out because, you know, I usually don’t do Thursdays unless there is like a game or something like that. So, I’ll probably have to stab out, but I I’ll definitely try to do the first half. I’m guessing that’ll be a couple hours. So, I’m good. I mean, I might even be good for for most of the game. I might be good for three hours. We’re talking about 10 my time. We’re talking about 10:00 a.m. to 100 p.m. Yeah, I should be okay with that. Um, so I might get the whole game. Might not, you know, but it’s the Hall of Fame game. I mean, I don’t how much we we we going to just be chopping it up, talking to each other, like I mean, this is what we do all all every time we do a game, you know, but I don’t know. I don’t know what I’m going to There there will be people on the field that I I’m probably I’m probably going to know all of them because I’m a sicko and I know the Lions roster, but I don’t know. But yes, yes, I’ll be here. Um, that’s what happens when a Bears fan watches a Lion stream while doing beer curls. Um, Brent Dit says, “Wasn’t a fan of Breakstraw pick because of his injury history?” Don’t do you remember that they mocked him to us in the first round? I was like, “Hell to the no to the no. No, no, hell no. I did not want that to happen. Um, yeah. So, I will be here on Thursday, y’all. So, make sure that y’all tap in with your boy and we can watch the Hall of Fame game together. Um, and we could not get drunk on this not 40 ounce. Hopefully, I won’t need any kombucha by by that time. Hopefully, my stomach will be back to normal. Um, all right. Mailbag. Mailbag. What you going to do? What you going to do when they reading you? Mailbag. Mailbagnick. Mailbag. Get your mailbag questions in. Get them in. Basking it. Oh man. Um, if y’all want to know where that comes from, uh, it is the episode of the Boondocks where Thugnificent moves into the neighborhood. Go watch that. Go watch that episode and then you’ll know why I can’t do the whole full bask in it situation. You just go watch it. That’s all I can say. Uh, I can’t do it. I have a very diverse audience and I love that. So, certain things I can’t do. Um, Tail Made Media says, “Mailbag. What will be the freak? Okay. Somebody just called my Detroit number. Hello, Popeye’s Pizza.” That’s not a thing. That’s not a place. All right. Um, Melbach, what will be your f your focus on Thursday night? My focus basically will be Henden Hooker. Um, I just want to see how he looks under center. I want to see if he has command of the offense, how he’s processing. Um, you know, what’s his accuracy looking like? Is he going to get happy feet in the pocket? That’s really going to be, you know, my focus. What else can we focus on? I mean, we’re looking at backups everywhere. You know, Isaac Tesla is going to play. Dominic Love is going to play. Um, is Craig Is Craig Reynolds gonna play? I like I don’t So, yeah, probably Henden Hooker. Probably Henden Hooker. Uh, Fine. Hawaiian Mailbag. Uh, have you or anyone heard anything at all about Miles Frasier? I think Miles Frasier is out until October. That’s the last thing that I heard about Miles Frasier. Um, the Lion King says, “Is it just Manu is raw or not coachable dude?” He’s raw and he’s being coached and um they they see him developing. He’s on pace for them. They’re happy with where he is right now. Um, yeah, Frasier’s out injured until uh October. That’s what I’m hearing. Uh, Melbach, will Henden Hooker go deep and attack the Steelers safety out the gate? Um, you mean the Chargers? I don’t know. Um, I’m trying to think. I mean, I guess Tesla would be his deep threat at the time. Yeah. So, maybe. I don’t know. We’ll see. I think I think I think Johnny Mo is going to come out running the ball, but we’ll see what happens. Um, Mailbag. So, since I didn’t catch it, what was short overview the project Martin slander about? Yes, the this counts towards my one per show. Uh, basically the fact that I have not heard anything good about Brick Martin coming out of camp. I’ve heard good things about Henden Hooker. Henden Hooker has climbed the depth chart and now he’s your number two quarterback. He’s got a leg up on Kyle Allen now. I’ve heard good things about him. I’ve heard good things about Manu. I’ve heard nothing good about Roger Martin. So, I don’t believe he’ll be on this team. I believe he will be on the practice squad. If he does make the initial 53man roster, then he will be bounced for a cut that comes from another team. Um, JRod says, “Don P, I am not offended. I know what you were speaking of just made me think, but I got to go. Have a good evening. Take care until next time.” All right, Jared. Uh JRod, don’t work too don’t work too much because you said you’ve been working like a machine. Um said just made me think. It’s I’m glad it does make you think, bro. And I hope a lot of y’all think um what kind of person that is. But anyway, uh Flying Hawaiian says, “Mailbe, who will outplay the other?” Hooker versus Allen. Um I’m hoping Hooker outplays Allen. Because I think Hooker has a skill set that you can expand and expound upon if Jared Goff were to miss a a series, if he were to miss a game, you know, because what happens when a quarterback goes out and a backup comes in, you get a little bit disjointed. Um, it’s not the same cadence. It’s not the same whatever the case may be. So, what you want is Hooker out there because he does have the added ability to run. So, if the play is not there and it breaks down, he can pick up five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10 yards with his legs and help you to move the ball down the field. So, it’s not a, hey, Kyle Allen comes in and hands the ball off twice and throws an incomplete pass on third down and then on third down and then we have to punt. So, I would love to see Hinn and Hooker be there um in the case of anything happening to Jared Goff and that’s what your backup quarterback is supposed to be. I don’t want to have to punt on the season if and I’m hoping that this doesn’t happen if Jared Goff were to miss any extended time. Okay, let’s say let’s say Jared Goff misses four games. You want to be able to at least go two and two in those games, not one and three, not 0 and four. So, that’s what I’d like to see. Um I’d like to see Henden Hooker outplay Allen. Um thanks. Didn’t know how I missed the Frasier injury. I don’t think it’s talked about too much. Um, let me see what this is. The hat and the beard said Allen. If the hat and the beard is me, I’d say Hooker. Um, Melbach. Will the Lions look to make a deal with the Steelers after the game versus the Chargers? Who specifically are you looking for from the Steelers? That’s my question. Uh because Minka Fitzpatrick is gone. You want you want you want to bring Troy Palamalo out of retirement? I don’t know. Um what up though, Frank the Tank. Uh Mailbag, is it me or does it seem as if Woodward Sports has fallen off other than the Heavs? Yeah. Yeah. Um a lot of people have left. I don’t know what what what the reason behind the the morning show shakeup. Don’t know what that was. The I like Sean Belgian though. That’s just me. Um but it’s it’s a it’s a change in format. My man KG, shout out KG. I love that he is more a part of the show. I wish they would just bring him up on the on the desk. Um but yeah, I don’t know. Yeah, it’s it’s the show is the show is still good because you didn’t replace KG, you didn’t replace JB, they’re still there. Um, and like I said, I like Shawn Blegion, so yeah, but but I get what you mean. Um, I I’m I’m really just heavy into the heavies mostly, but I do catch the morning show most most mornings. Now, when the times change and I’m doing my show at 11:00 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m., which is what I’m doing it now, then I won’t be catching the morning show because they’ll be coming on at 12:00 a.m. and I’ll be in the bed. So, that’s the thing. Now, it comes on at 10 p.m., so I’m good. I usually go to bed around 12 or 1. So, yeah. Um, Flying Wise says, “I’m rooting for Hooker also. He always seems to get outplayed by some older backup.” Yeah, I hope that doesn’t happen. Um, so Ron, go back to your beer beer uh beer curls. Yes. All right. Mailbag, who’s better at QB, Baker Mayfield or Jared Goff? Jared. Um, the backups look a lot better this year than the last couple years. I’ll tell you that. Yeah, that’s true. U Nate Sutfeld was hot garbage and in my opinion, I’d love to have Mayfield on the Lions. I know it’s not a popular opinion. I mean, make Baker Mayfield has has proven himself. Um, and and I don’t slight Baker Mayfield. I don’t poo poo on Baker Mayfield. I just don’t know if he would lead this team like Derrick Goff does. I don’t know if you get to the NFC Championship game with Baker Mayfield, especially since we went through Baker Mayfield, who threw that interception to get us to the NFC Championship game. So, I I’m not exactly sure. It’s not an unpopular opinion, but I just don’t know that Baker would have the same impact on the Detroit Lions that Jared Goff has on the Detroit Lions, if that makes sense to you. Um, this offensive setup not the quarterback to be running around. There’s too many offensive weapons on the team. Yes. But I’m saying if your quarterback goes out and you have Kyle Allen, is he going to be able to get the ball to those weapons? If he can’t get the ball to those weapons and he’s just getting sacked all the time, your offense will stagnate. At least if Henden Hooker can’t get the ball to the weapons for whatever reason, he has the added ability to run the football. So, I’m not saying that I want him to in there to run the football. I’m saying it is an addition that the other backup quarterback doesn’t have. Right? If there’s something that you can lean on, a skill set that this backup quarterback has, then Johnny Mo can dial some things up to help him be more comfortable. If you have a backup which is more prototypical like Jared Goff and he can’t get the job done like Nate Sudfeld or David Blau, then you are cooked. You have no other options. That’s my point. Um, Baker Mayfield is an NFL Q QB. That is that is facts. Um, Mailbag, did you see that Johnny football is trying to make a comeback? Oh, Lord. Good lord. Not no.
