AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Augusta University’s men’s and women’s golf programs are leaving the Southland Conference and joining the West Coast Conference as an affiliate.

That will happen with the coming academic year.

Moving to a conference based on the opposite coast was likely driven by a quest for better competition for AU’s notable program.

The program achieved NCAA National Championships in 2010 and 2011 and returned to the NCAA Championships in 2025 after taking the Southland title.
