She played all four rounds under par at the Scottish Open, showing control and poise throughout the week. It was a really solid week for me, she said. I think honestly that’s a success in growing my game and I’m excited for having the opportunity to play next week and to show up again. Veteran Paul Reedo secured her place with a solo seventh finish. A final round 71 was capped with a gritty par save on the 18th, a moment she felt might make all the difference. Reto has always been drawn to the unpredictable nature of Link’s golf, calling it one of her favorite styles. Obviously, I love that you don’t have to hit perfect shots, she said. Being able to qualify today, I made like a good save on the last hole. I was really hoping it will bring me in. Mary Louu, meanwhile, authored one of the week’s best comeback stories. After opening with a 76, the Chinese pro climbed back into contention with consistent play, finishing solo fifth and sealing her open birth with a birdie on the final hole. I feel it’s a dream come true, said Lou, who continues to make strides in her second season on tour. For all three, the Scottish Open became more than a competition. It was a gateway to the year’s final major and a reminder of how one week can transform a season.
