Today I’ve got a really cool trick that anybody can do to try to hit straighter shots. Okay, this is like a little nugget that I found out that I really want everybody to give a shot. Okay, so it’s as simple as taking your grip. Okay. And then your index finger on your trail hand just release the pressure. Okay. And then you can see that now my index finger is pointed the same direction as the club face. All right. Now, the reason why this is important and why this works is if you think about any sport, your index finger is the thing that aims. If you’re throwing a dart, it’s your index finger pointing forward. If you’re shooting a basketball, your index finger points out towards the target, right? If you’re throwing a pitch, your index finger is the one that’s leading. So, when you’re talking about direction in golf, what you can do here is get set up, grip the club, release that index finger so it’s pointing at the club face. And now I can see, I can get a visual of where my index finger is pointing. That’s where the club face is. And then real light grip pressure. Just bring it back. It’s gonna go straight. All right. One more added thing to this is you can actually relax your thumb. Okay. So, when you once you’ve got this grip set up and when you come back, you can lift your thumb off the club, right? You’re going to naturally grip it back. But if you come back and and you can see that was a much better struck ball. But both of them are on the exact same straight line. Look at that. So try this tip out. All right. Remember, just grip relax that index finger. Okay. What it’s also going to allow you to do because it’s releasing that tension from when you have it gripped like this, it’s going to allow you to not stop coming over the top. You’re going to actually start to shallow because the club is going to be on your wrist. So, you’re going to shallow that club out and make much better contact. All right, this is Tom. Thanks for watching. I’ll see everybody next week. It’s going to be a hot one this week, so stay cool. Come to an indoor center if you got one near you. Um, but if you play outside, make sure you hydrate. And I’ll see everybody next Tuesday. Thanks.
