Harris English credits NFL style preparation for breakout PGA Tour season. PGA Tour star Harris English, currently enjoying one of his best seasons, visited the Jacksonville Jaguars training camp on July 28th and drew a direct connection between football and golf preparation. English praised the Jaguars structured drills, comparing them to his own system-based practice, especially in putting where he ranks among the tour’s top 20. He credits much of his success to putting coach Ramon Bescan, who also caddied for him at the British Open. English, who has earned over $7.7 million this season, won the Farmers Insurance Open and finished runner up in two majors with strong finishes in the Masters and Travelers Championship as well. He’s sixth in both the FedEx Cup and Ryder Cup standings. The 36-year-old is aiming for a tour championship birth and a Ryder Cup spot, saying his refined practice routine mirrors the focus detail he sees in NFL training.
