The Yocha Dehe Golf Club is a sight to behold, especially for avid Capay Valley, Yolo County and surrounding area golfers.

Since the pristine course opened, it has lived up to its lofty standards and remained the perfect place to play for anyone in and around the region.

What keeps people coming back to Yocha Dehe Golf Course? The long list of prestigious awards is a good indication.

In 2021, Yocha Dehe Golf Club was recognized by golfers nationwide as the No. 1 golf course in the U.S. in the Golf Pass Top 50 Courses in the U.S. rankings.

For the first time, the course cracked Golfweek’s Top 100 Courses You Can Play, coming in at No. 80, No. 48 on Golf Advisor’s Best of List and No. 5 on the Golfweek Best Casino Golf Courses list.

In 2022, the course was No. 54 on the Golfweek Best Resort Golf Courses list and in 2023, the awards continued to come in as they made Golfweek’s and Golf Advisor’s top 50 lists.

In 2024, Yocha Dehe racked up more lists, moving up to No. 44 in the Best Resort Golf Courses list, reaching No. 6 in Golfweek’s Top Courses in California list and earning an AGM Platinum Award for “Best of the Best” Golf Shop.

After consistently ranking as one of California’s best places to play, the club takes great pride in making its guests part of the experience. The Brad Bell-designed facility offers peak playing conditions and over 7,300 yards of championship golf.

How do they do it? According to the Director of Golf for the Yocha Dehe Golf Club, Will Foust, the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation plays a significant role.

“They (Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation) are extremely supportive,” Foust said. “The standards here are very high, which translates to a high level of customer service and a product that is unmatched by our competitors. We are given ample resources to provide a consistently higher level of customer service.”

The fully supported staff provides golfers with top-tier customer service, welcoming players back to the course time and time again.

“Just read the reviews about our course,” Foust said. “Every review mentions our team and how far beyond we go compared to other golf courses and establishments. I’d put us on par with any property out there as it relates to our team. When our team is cared for and appreciated, it makes it much easier for them to do their jobs and feel proud of their work.”

Three years ago, the course upgraded its golf carts, enabling players to ride in style and comfort for the entire 18-hole course. The lithium-powered carts, equipped with custom wheels and rims, feature built-in, inward-facing Bluetooth speakers that help control the sound level on the course.

Another key feature is the built-in GPS that displays the yardage and layout of all the holes.

“For our region, it’s a rare feature,” Foust said.

With a record number of holes being played on its course, Yocha Dehe Golf Club also finds itself in the hosting mood.

In May, Cache Creek Casino, along with the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, hosted the third annual charity golf tournament. The event brought together tribal leaders, vendors, and community partners with a shared purpose: to raise essential funds to support two remarkable organizations—First Tee of Greater Sacramento and the Forgotten Soldier Program.

Together, the tournament helped advance First Tee’s mission to empower young people with life skills and character development through the game of golf, and it strengthened the Forgotten Soldier Program’s critical work supporting veterans and first responders in their time of need. The event raised $125,000 thanks to overwhelming generosity, with $62,500 directly benefiting each organization.

“Our investment in the First Tee of Greater Sacramento reflects our belief in the power of mentorship and the long-term impact of positive youth development,” stated Tribal Chairman of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Anthony Roberts. “We’re proud to share our ancestral lands to support these young people as they build confidence, leadership, and integrity through the game of golf.”

The fourth annual charity golf tournament is scheduled for May 2026. For more information, call Yocha Dehe Golf Club at 530-796 4653 or visit yochadehegolfclub.com.
