I’m sitting down here in my shop today and behind me is the large black case. And while most stuff in the golf world doesn’t come in cases this large, as I move away, you can see that this one has the word Vega on it. And if you are not familiar with Vega, don’t worry. Most people are probably not. But Vega is a longtime Japanese manufacturer of golf clubs. Now, they started long ago, early 1900s, and with all the heritage that is in Japanese golf clubs. This one, Vega, actually was started by a person who built samurai swords. Actually made samurai swords. So, metal working, all that was in his blood. Started making golf clubs in the early 1900s when golf started to come to Japan and the first courses were started to be built. Now, that was a long time ago. Vega is here. They’ve been through a lot. Uh, but they’re still making really high-end forged Japanese golf clubs. So, they come out of a very prestigious forging house over there. And they’ve had a few different lines. Back in 200, I think it was 17 or 18. Uh, I reviewed the Vega VDC and Mysar Tour irons that came out at that point. Extremely soft, great feeling, and they’ve revised the line for 2025 going into 2026. So, we’ve got some brand new stuff from Vega. Very exciting stuff. Uh, you know, it’s going to be high-end. You know, it’s going to look good and, you know, it’s going to feel good out on the course. So, we’re going to go ahead unlatch a lot of latches and open this up and see what Vega has to offer this year. All right. So, the first iron we’re going to take a look at in the Vega line is the brand new SS. So, this is the kind of their interpret interpretation of a new blade. Uh, but I have to say the one thing on this thing, it is small. This thing is extremely tiny. Uh, heel to toe length, very short. Uh face height isn’t crazy high. Just overall a really small blade. So this is for a person who loves just classic design, classic looks. It is forged from S20C carbon steel, so it’s going to be extremely soft. Whole back is mil. The face as well, all milled across. You have a perfectly fat uh uh face there. And it is built for precision. Now, the one kind of cool thing is when you see blades like this, uh you pretty much think, oh, there’s nothing in there technology, anything like that. There is actually a weight port in the toe. So, when you undo this screw, there is a weight bar that goes in there that Vega actually has a kit for when they’re building sets that you can put together a you can change the weighting on this and and actually make the swing weight, all that dial it in to exactly what you need. So, a beautiful iron. Uh great sole design here. He’s got a little bit of roundness kind of on the leading edge. Trailing edge has just a little bit of relief. Super narrow sole. Uh but a really good looking forge blade. A little bit intimidating. Uh this is just a 7 iron and when you set it down you can definitely tell it is pretty darn small. Love the Vega star there if you didn’t know. Uh Vega was actually named after the brightest star in the LRA constellation. So uh kind of a little bit of tid tidbit of information for you there. But very thin top line, minimal if any offset on them. Uh just a really beautiful uh forge muscle back blade for those purists who just love that look. So uh something in there very kind of you know specific for that type of player. But I think for the type of player who’s looking for a tiny, small, compact blade, uh, this thing is going to suit a lot of eyes. It’s absolutely beautiful, uh, and should feel absolutely spectacular. So, the next irons in the Vega line are going to be the Mysizar Pro MB and the Mysizar Pro Cavity Back. So, two irons. These actually come from the same blank forging, and they basically create a muscleback blade out of one of them and a cavity back out of one of them. This way allows you to blend the set if you want to uh add a little bit of forgiveness in the long irons and have that precision great feel in the short irons. Both these same thing forged from S20C carbon steel. So they’re going to be extremely soft, great sound to them. I love the sole design on both. Both have kind of pre-worn leading edges. Going to help that leading edge stay down on firm lies or firm tight lies, but it’s also going to give good float and reduce divot size in those softer conditions. Both these here slightly bigger, definitely bigger than the SS iron, uh, but slightly bigger. Again, same thing, reduced top lines, uh, very thin, not a lot of offset at all. And these things here, when you look at the top lines, very similar. The cavity back is just slightly bigger. Uh, the back of the cavity, you’re going to the cavity back, you’re going to see a ton of great milling on this thing. Really great system there. And then the, uh, you know, blade is, of course, going to be very traditional in terms of its look. Little longer blade length, uh, especially compared to the SS. a little longer blade length, but it’s overall a really great players look. Both of these have the weight bar system in them. So, you can of course get these dialed in to exactly what you want in terms of swing weight or head weight uh or that type of feel. Just dialing in for the players preference. And these again are going to be kind of precision players clubs. Faces are completely milled on these, so they’re very flat. They’re going to be offer distance control and uh really good spin out of any type of lie. So, these things here really great together. Uh you’re going to be able to combo these or just play one or the other, but they start life from the same kind of blank mold. The this sole design on them, the cavity back just a touch wider, not very much at all. Very similar design, but just a hair wider than the MB. So, uh both these, the Misar Pro cavity back and the Misar Pro Blade. Both two other great options for better players who want to maybe combine sets or play one. So, last but certainly not least in the Vega iron line is the brand new Lyra. Now, this iron is basically blends the soft great feel that a forged carbon steel head is going to have, but it’s also going to blend forgiveness in there. It’s a little bit bigger, has a little bit more offset, just a slightly thicker top line on it, but it looks like a player’s cavity back. All milled in the cavity here, a lot of perimeter weighting, a lot of weight shoved down low. This is going to be the easiest to launch, the highest launching out of the set. Uh going to offer the most forgiveness, most stability, and the very unique thing about this one is dual weight bars in this one. So, not only can you dial in the head weight, swing weight, get it to match up with whatever shaft build you’re kind of using, you can also kind of change a little bit of the trajectory as well. So, you can kind of change the center of gravity with this dual weight bar system. So, a pretty cool thing that if you are somebody who, you know, you get this and it’s pretty darn good, you can really really fine-tune it by changing in the weight bars there and get this to launch and spin perfectly with what you need for your swing. Similar sole design where it’s got that pre-worn leading edge. Great turf interaction on this. Shouldn’t dig too much. sole is a little bit wider on it. Uh but for being a little bit bigger forge blade, it definitely doesn’t look too big. It’s fairly slim. It’s not chunky. Uh it’s not overly large or anything like that. It’s got a nice clean classic shape to it. So, it’s going to combine again forgiveness, height, and great feel into one iron. So, this Now, Vega wasn’t done with just doing irons. They also brought us some brand new wedges as well. So, this is the brand new Vega Alor X. And this wedge here has a kind of a slightly bigger shape to it. little bit higher, more pronounced toe, which is great for when you have to hit those open face shots. And the miss is typically up high and out on the toe. So, the shaping there looks very classic, but slightly larger, very minimal offset, just a slightly rounded leading edge on it. Uh, but the big thing is when you look at the back, it looks really traditional, beautifully mil. This thing here, same thing, forged out of carbon steel, but you can look at it there on the toe and you can see again dual weight bar system from Vegas. So, not only are they allowing you to kind of adjust head weight and get that dialed in, but with a two weight bar system, they’re going to build a wedge that’s got a slightly higher center of gravity, it’s going to have a ball that comes out flatter, a little bit more controlled, and you’re going to still retain a ton of spin on this thing. So, both of these are removable. You can dial these in with two different weights. Uh, but the system there is really, really nice to dial in that wedge to you and again offer a little bit more control of these wedge shots. And so design, uh, here we’ve definitely got a sole uh, with kind of a large radius on it. Good trailing edge relief there. So, you’re going to be able to man manipulate this wedge in different ways. Open the face up, play higher lofted shots, lower lofted shots, just kind of get creative around the greens of this wedge while retaining some amazing feel. I mean, most wedges out there right now are cast. This is forged for enhanced soft feel. Now, also in the wedges is the brand new Alcore Tour wedge. Now, this wedge here, I actually reviewed this a couple years ago as well, and this is Vegas wedge that actually is two parts. So, the sole here is a separate piece that bolts onto the body of the wedge. So, the bounce and and uh sole shape are all controlled by this piece here. They actually bolt on and they make a low, a mid, and a high bounce option that you can put on there. Now, you can buy them individually, whatever, or you can get the whole kit that you get all three sole plates and can put them on there. Now, the big thing with this one being the second generation is they made this piece out of titanium now. So, the sole plate that comes on is titanium. It’s going to have less weight. They’re going to control more weight into the actual forged uh steel part of the head. So, this way, again, same thing. You’re raising center of gravity with this, offering a more penetrating, more controlled ball flight while having this versatile sole design where you can add uh a high bounce or low bounce or really dial in this wedge soul to how you play the game and the types of shots you like to hit. But same thing, all mil face, mil grooves, precise, going to offer a ton of spin, great feel on this, but a brand new sole plate sets this apart in the second generation. And then we have Vega’s Al Core Gold Wedge. So this is the wedge here. a lot of mil minds. But the the big special thing about this, it is made from forged aluminum brass. So, the big reason they do that is the feel. This is an extremely soft wedge, but even though it has this great soft feel and really muted sound, it’s still got the same mil face on it. So, it’s going to produce a ton of spin from all different lies. And of course, slightly higher center of gravity compared to the previous wedges. So, again, more controlled ball flight, still have a ton of spin. You’re going to be able to hit a lot of different shots with these wedges and get a little more versatile here. Little bit of heel relief. Uh the trailing edge has been kind of uh you know, peeled off as well. So again, allow you to open the face up without that leading edge coming off too coming off the ground too high. But the feel on this one is where the purists are really going to love to play this wedge. And then we have the Mysar Max utility iron. So this is a unique piece that combines a soft carbon steel body with a thin titanium face. And this thing is just built to produce ball speed at the top end of your bag. So, uh, long iron replacement. The steel body is going to offer a soft feel, muted sound. And the face here is a 2.8 mm titanium face that is going to create a ton of ball speed. So whether you miss it a slightly off the toe, heel, low, high, whatever on the face, you’re going to keep that ball speed really high. When you hit it flush, it’s definitely going to be faster than a traditional iron. And then you have the nice soft feel. Now, internally, there’s some waiting as well to kind of help with trajectory and forgiveness. And if you look at the sole there, they’ve actually got a little bit of again a pre-worn leading edge and some trailing edge edge relief. So, while this looks like a pretty wide sole, it is actually going to have pretty good turf interaction. It’s not going to be slow or sluggish getting through the turf. Uh, this one here, same thing. Very minimal offset, uh, not a crazy thick top line on it. It uh, just overall has a pretty small, compact shape for utility irons, but matches up well with any of the Vega irons at the top end of the bag. And a lot of these irons, as you saw here, have this Vega weight kit that you can use with it. So, lots of weight bars and different weights that your fitter and you can go through to dial in that club, make it fit you in terms of swing weight, in terms of performance, CG, all that. Uh, you can really make these irons your own. So, having a lot of customizable options are always great for fitters. They can get you that set of irons that just works perfectly with your swing, your launch conditions, all that. So, that is the unboxing of Vega’s brand new irons and wedges. very cool to see them coming out with some brand new stuff. Uh it is always exciting to see what some of these smaller brands are doing and the creativity they have with the external or internal weight bar system that can really dial these irons into your swing, your launch conditions, your needs, and the beautiful finishes and craftsmanship that Vega has to offer here. So, thanks for w thanks for hanging out and unboxing these with me. Let’s go hit some balls out there.
