Dustin Johnson has already decided when he will call it quits from professional golf with the former Masters champion currently struggling to find his form on the LIV circuit. It proved to be another week to forget for Dustin Johnson on the LIV golf circuit with the four aces captain finishing at the bottom of the leaderboard at Live UK. With the title swooped by 36 hole leader Wen Neman at JCB Golf and Country Club, Johnson finished 26 shots behind the champion. It was the four aces captain’s second rock bottom finish of the 2025 campaign, having also fallen to the same fate in Hong Kong earlier this year. Johnson had previously been the dominant figure of the breakaway circuit, crowned the league’s inaugural champion in 2022 before completing a double with the four aces just a week later 3 years on. Johnson is failing to make his mark at the right end of the standings despite a recent improvement of form prior to his trip to the UK. As well as not finding his best golf on the LIV setup, Johnson has also struggled for form on the major stage. Once a key player at the sports flagship events, Johnson missed three cuts in a row at the Masters, PGA Championship, and US Open before saving his major season with a tied 23rd finish at this month’s Open Championship. at the age of 41. Johnson is now closer to the end of his career than the start. And his time at the top of men’s professional golf has been a successful one, having announced himself as one of the best players of his generation, winning 24 PGA Tour titles, three LIV crowns, and two major titles. Attention now, however, is turning slightly towards what his plans will be postgolf, with the LIV man revealing ahead of June’s US Open that he has around 6 years left of competing left in him. I think I’ve got another six years in me. He told AP, “I can grind for another 6 years and then I’m going fishing.” Quizzed on why it would be a grind, Johnson responded with confidence, “Because I want to get back. I know I’ve still got it.” While his trip to JCB has been another setback, the 4 aces skipper has tried to remain positive in recent weeks.
