KENNESAW, Ga. – Kyle Bachkosky, Claes Borregaard and Shaun Cook were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically for an NCAA member institution. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Bachkosky had a 73.37 scoring average with 13 rounds at par or better. He tied for fifth at the Cullan Brown Collegiate. The junior tied for third at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate and holds a 3.66 GPA while majoring in sport management.
Cook played in 10 events and recorded a 72.03 scoring average. 14 of his rounds were played at par or better. The junior finished second at the Pinetree Intercollegiate with a 2-under par total of 214. He tied for eighth at Steelwood Collegiate Invitational and is a finance major who maintains a 3.56 GPA.
Borregaard, the CUSA Player of the Year put together one of strongest seasons in KSU history in 2024-25. The senior finished with a 70.85 scoring average in 39 stroke play rounds. He led the team with 21 rounds at par or better. He was KSU’s top finisher in eight events this season and ranked 65th in the final NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Rankings. He picked up a pair of wins at the Cullan Brown Collegiate and the Pinetree Intercollegiate. He placed third at the CUSA Men’s Golf Championship and earned him a spot on the All-Tournament team. The Smorum, Denmark native tied for second at the Auburn Regional with an 8-under par total of 208. The senior’s total of 5-over par 221 tied him for 55th among the 152 players who completed 54 holes at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship. Borregaard carries a 3.41 GPA in sociology.
