English sensation Lottie Woad has been named as favourite by BoyleSports for this week’s AIG Women’s Open after a stunning start to her professional career.

The 21 year-old has taken the golf world by storm having won the KPMG Women’s Irish Open as an amateur, before finishing just a shot outside the play-off in the Evian Championship earlier this month. But last week’s victory at the Scottish Open, her first tournament as a professional, has earmarked her as the one to beat at Royal Porthcawl this week.

The landmark three‑stroke victory means she has been backed all the way down to 6/1 to bag her first major on just her second start as a professional, meaning punters rate her a more likely champion than the two women battling it out at the top of the world rankings; Nelly Korda and Jeeno Thitikul, who are now joint second favourites at 9/1.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “It’s been a rapid rise up the golfing ladder for Lottie Woad in recent weeks and punters are all over it now. Her recent exploits have earned her status as the clear favourite and it’ll be no surprise if she’s a major force at Royal Porthcawl.”

Ireland’s Leona Maguire, who has posted three consecutive top-20 finishes including a season-best 7th at the Evian Championship, has been clipped into 50/1 from 66/1 to break her major duck in the last of the five big ones on the women’s 2025 calendar.
