Completely Different Golf Course in Bangkok 🇹🇭 Riverdale Golf Club

57 courses in Bangkok. 160 days to play them all. This fine won’t stop till I conquer every call. Hello and welcome back to Parang Golf. Today is the 19th episode of me playing all the golf courses here in Bangkok and and we are playing Riverdale. I’m quite excited to play here. This was one of the courses that was requested by you dear viewers. So keep those requests coming in the comments. I try to fulfill them as good as I can. So yeah, Riverdale, the course looks absolutely stunning. So I’m excited to go and check it out. But before that, let’s go and briefly take a look at the facilities. So tag along. Let’s go. Riverdale was opened 2010. And that makes it one of the newer courses around Bangkok. And it’s located in the northern side of Bangkok next to Bangkok Golf Club. and they are both MBK owned golf courses. Some of you might know MBK as a shopping center in Siam area and that is exactly the same company. Riverdale is blessed with little bit nicer terrain. It has some hills and slopes and it’s quite different from the other usually quite flat golf courses around Bangkok. The course was designed by Moro Tikanen some Finnish ancestry there and they have also designed another MBK course in Buet Red Mountain which is also with lots of elevations and shapes. The clubhouse is quite nice but I think after 15 years they should start making some renovations there. It’s a little bit worn out in few places and and I feel it could use some tender love and care. I arrived at the course quite early and the restaurant was offering only breakfast menu which few of you viewers probably know I’m not huge fan of but I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with iced coffee since I have to eat something and get my caffine in before playing. The food was a little bit bland to my liking and unfortunately I didn’t return to the restaurant after the round so I cannot comment on the rest of the menu. The prices were though moderate and the restaurant offered a great view of the course. Overall, they offer quite neat product when it comes to the restaurant. On top of the restaurant, the locker rooms were also situated upstairs of the clubhouse. And I have to say that the locker rooms were quite nice. I like the color scheme and theme of the lockers. And it was at least on this day quite calm there. It was really nice and bright at the lockers with plenty of natural light coming in from the outside. The shower cabinets were decent and there was shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided together with basic amenities. There was even this strange feed drying machine. I would love to meet the sales rep who has run around Thailand’s golf courses and sold all these feed drying machines to the golf courses. The pro shop is downstairs together with the small bars. cafeteria and starter. And this time the pro shop is actually quite nice. It’s fully stocked. I guess if you cannot find something golf related here, you won’t be needing it. They have quite decent rental club selection as well, but the price is quite outrageous. 2,000 B for a set. Now that I’ve been making these videos for some time already and I’ve been checking out the rental club prices, I really recommend everyone to bring their own clubs to Thailand if they plan to play any more than one round of golf. The prices are quite horrific and the quality of the clubs vary hugely from club to club. The driving range and the practice facilities are brilliant at the course. I think it was two years ago when they renewed the driving range and it is a nice driving range. If you go and play at the Bangkok Golf Club, you can utilize this driving range as well. The short game area is one of the better ones as well with nice potting, chipping, and bunker shot areas. I was supposed to play alone on this day and film the course review. But I happened to see fellow Bangok Boian, Mr. Walt, at the clubhouse just before I was heading out onto the course. And he was playing there with couple of his friends, so I decided to join them. So we were four balling in the end. Mr. Walt, the great sandbagger, won the latest Bangkok bogeies competition with score of minus1 to his handicap. Jokes aside, congrats to Walt for winning the competition with a great round of golf. And huge thanks for John, Walt, and Dan for letting me join their group. I had a great day golfing out with you guys. What about the course then? I have to say that it’s one of the more interesting ones around Bangkok. As I mentioned, it has little bit shape and form to it. It’s not super flat like the other courses, and that makes it really enjoyable. Overall, the course was in great condition. Maybe not the best of conditions out of the courses I’ve played lately, but it has been raining quite heavily past few days, so bear that in mind when you look at the course conditions. The main attraction of the course is obviously the shape of it. But I found nothing wrong with the rups, the fairways or even the queens. Day after I filmed here, they will start cing the queens. So I guess by the time you are watching this video, I think they should be pretty much done with the cing and in couple weeks time the greens should be even better than they were when I played here. In the previous video, I played at the Super Golf Club and there was couple memorable holes I mentioned in the video. Here only one comes into my mind and it is very unique setup. It is eight hole par three and this hole has two greens so you can choose which one to use. The other one lies in safer position 150 yards away from the T box if you play from the white T’s and and then the other one is less than 100 yards away a small small difficult island green. When I played here, the longer green was already being caught, so we didn’t use it. And and we played to the smaller island green. And I really enjoyed the challenge of hitting 89 yards downhill to a small island green side, no till. So what you think my caddy will be tomorrow? I think the main reason why I haven’t played this beautiful course before is simply money. This course is more expensive than the surrounding courses like Bangkok Golf Club or Florville. So, I’ve skipped it so far. But since I’m playing all the golf courses here in Bangkok and reviewing them for you, I need to come and check this course out as well, no matter what the cost. I picked this one up as a sports day offer and I paid 3,100 B for cream and cart. I assume that the normal weekday price is closer to 4,000 and weekend prices go probably all the way up to 5,000 including caddy and cart. So it is pricier than the courses around it. What about the caddies? You probably have noticed that my caddy might have been little bit younger and prettier than my playing partner’s caddies and there is a reason for that. I booked my caddy through the Cland application and made sure that I got caddy of my liking and choosing. I really enjoyed my day with young Miss Nulle. She was talented caddy and fun company to be with. On top of working as a caddy, she likes to go and party at Suku Soy 11’s nightclubs and bars. So maybe if you’re super lucky, young Miss Nulle would accept your invitation for a few drinks after a round of golf at some of the nightlife areas of downtown Bangkok. So check out the link in description for golf application app that makes booking caddies on all Thailand golf courses easy and convenient. Then the only thing left is to wrap up the review. I have to say that I was expecting quite a lot off of the course and it kind of delivered. The clubhouse was beautiful and it had nice views over the course. Locker rooms were decent and and practice facilities were great, but maybe the clubhouse would need some small renovations in the near future. The course itself is different from nearby courses, which makes it interesting and fun to play. But for me, the issue is the price. you are paying 1,000 2,000 but more for a green pea caden car than at the nearby courses and I think it’s not bringing enough value to justify the 3040 or $50 price difference to the nearby courses. In the end, Riverdale is an interesting golf course and I would love to come and play it more often, but for now the price is too high for me to come back here and play. In the next episode, we’re going to be celebrating the 20th episode already of me playing all the golf courses here in Bangkok. And to celebrate that, we go to Royal Pangpain in Ayutaya with a subscriber and we even do a double caddy interview. So, subscribe to the channel, leave a like to this video and and comment below. Were you disappointed on my review regarding Riverdale? Thanks for watching and see you in the next

I’m playing all 57 golf courses in Bangkok, and this 19th course is something different. It´s not flat like other courses in Bangkok.

Riverdale Golf Club offers great and interesting round of golf for those who have money to pay for it.

As usual, I´ll review the course for you as a part of my series where I play all the golf courses in Bangkok Thailand!

  1. I haven’t played Riverdale since 2017 and I don’t know if they do it still, but back then you could buy a one year membership for three or four hundred baht and you would get your membership fee and more back in savings on the very first round

  2. The course looks fantastic. I have overlooked this course on previous trips but I have to play this. Great review 👍

  3. Hi, your channel vlog is becoming a staple when i wake up first thing on a Sunday morning. Played here last year in Oct. It's one of the good golf courses of BKK and yes remember the the island greens, where I fed couple of balls to the fishes 😂……damn ! you are so lucky and envy your caddies on & off the course😉- lucky u & god bless u…….cheers !

  4. Great review as usual – I surely will go play soon. Just missing an interview with Ms Soi 11 party girl 🙂

  5. It’s been a few years since I’ve played Riverdale, but it is a firm favourite of mine. Agreed it is pricey, but I feel it’s worth it. The topography of the course is excellent I feel that didn’t come across in the video well enough. Another great video. Enjoy the golf and stay safe 🙏🏻

  6. Good review Harri, course looks challenging, man your caddie is too hot for Moi, i can't party any more, loud music does my head in & late nights.

  7. Nice course

You are right its a lot more undulating than most BKK courses

Played well there so i like the club

I do not understand how this course had no issue letting me on as a single

Yet the Bangkok GC right next door wouldnt let me play as a single even if i offered to joined with others

It is bizarre that the more expensive course allow a single on easily

The driving range nearby is not cheap for a tray of balls but the set up there is good

Would recommend it highly as its in the Top 10 courses in BKK area i have played

  8. Thanks for all the reviews ! Re: The foot drying machine. I wish my club here in CM had one. Finished playing yesterday and hit the showers and was treated to a Japanese tourist player drying his feet with a hair dryer over the sink propping up his leg 4ft high 😊. Not a pretty sight 😮😊😂

  9. I like all your golf course review videos which are so informative. And I have just booked a tee time to play on this course later this week. Look forward to the challenges that you just described in your video.
