Dude isn’t that guy in happy Gilmore 2?

Been watching a lot of Ichiro footage lately.
Sheffler and Ichiro have the same swing in the same respect that sosa and Tiger have the same swing.
    Power vs finesse.

Kind of surprised to see someone who grew up around the courses/instructors he did have such a quirky swing as a kid, but lol he’s the one laughing now.

He was always a prodigy. But I absolutely love how his coach has gone about his swing, just honing it for winning PGAT and Major events.

The kid who is best at 12 years old is usually not the best at 16 yo. The kid who is best at 16 yo is usually not the best at 20. The guy who is best at 20 is usually not the best at 24. The guy who is best at 24 is not always the best at 28. The guy who is best at 28 is often going to be great forever. The long game is hard to do as a player/coach combo. But it has worked out so well here.

Fairly certain one of my best friends could have played him in this tourney. They played together a lot back then.

My buddy still has a breathtaking swing like this. These guys really are monsters before they’re adults.

Never would have looked at that swing and thought, damn he could be number one day. crazy

I’m glad no coach tried to change his swing to a more “classic” looking one. 👀

Insane that his swing looks like a straight slice but he’s one of the best ball strikers on the planet. Not to mention his footwork lol. Swing your swing people!

  9. You don’t have to have the prettiest or most technical swing to be great. It helps but talent can overcome and boost that and he has that in spades.

A number of players from Jim Furyk to Lee Trevino didn’t have classic swings either and became winners. It worked for them and obviously works for him. He’s considered the best player since Tiger must be doing a lot of things right.

What golf course is that? That place looks magnificent, good God. Mountain golf is something.

Honestly, this might be why he shuffles his feet… that isn’t a great swing… but he did have solid footwork here… either he or something coach must to have told him to focus on swing mechanics over footwork and made golf history.

Im sure everyone already knows but for those who don’t; Scottie came back from being 4 down in the final round and won the jr amateur championship here, Davis Riley was his opponent and was absolutely crushed. It’s a fun round to watch you get to see a little more emotion but also his unwavering determination kicks in

I remember watching this live from 6 miles away in a golf shop working. No clue Scottie would ever be where he’s at now

I mean, sure it looks a bit wild, but it seems to me he’s trying to hit a hard draw/hook with that inside takeaway and flipping the hands after impact. Probably a shot he wasn’t comfortable hitting hence the exaggerated swing motion.

It’s like watching the back door on a trailer fly open on the highway.
